Phew! Finally in bed, and asleep!!
James did go to school fine, went in with a little smile. I'd already gone in with him to help him find his peg and drawer so we hung his coat and pe bag up. I was so proud of him. It probably helped that he had a pocket full of conkers we picked up in the way to school.
He came out quite happily too, but hated everything he had done apparently (not that I know what that was as he still won't tell me!)
James spent the rest of the day after lunch riding his bike up and down on his own - all the other kids were either at preschool or school. Walked to fetch Emily and then He went back out on his bike again until tea time. It's kept him fairly level though and I think it helped him process his day as by bedtime he was saying he had enjoyed himself but he didn't like some of the bigger children. He is also looking forward to Monday as he will be having school dinner and it's sausages.
I'm also super proud of my Emily. She's started the accelerated reading programme at school, on the same day as her best friend. It's a lovely celebration of the hard work they both out in last year and both of us mum's felt they could have been progressed more if it weren't for the replacement teacher focussing on the younger year group. Their teacher was so sparkly proud of the. It was lovely. She's a brilliant and very enthusiastic teacher, especially when it comes to literacy and I know our girls will flourish with her for the three years they have in her class (hoping she doesn't retire any time soon).
