Hola.....too warm to sleep, am missing the air conditioning! Massive row late last night. All three kids went out to watch the fireworks on the beach, first time on their own. The boys went on bikes and locked them up together. Thomas came home in a foul mood, James had lost the bike lock key! He needed the bike this morning to go air softing with his mates. James comes home and the row starts, we both end up bawling at them for being irresponsible. We have about 10 bike locks (mainly from center parcs) but they had used the big heavy chain one. James said he thought it had come out of his pocket on one of the rides, so he told the fairground man and gave him his number. So now dh is expecting both bikes to have disappeared o/night!! The joys of being home eh?? Girls I am wanting to change all my passwords, trouble is most of them are stored so I never have to type them in and now I can`t remember them! Just tried to change it on here and it wants my old one, how do I do it? Also looking for inspiration, need a good book recommendation asap for book club and am looking for a poem with a "rock" theme! Ta ! :)

Trips - If you log out and click the forgotten password link under the password box and type in your email address, it should sent a reset link to your inbox where you can change the password that way.

I constantly misplace/loose keys that Dh bought me a chain that attaches to me or tells me to shove them in my bra so I don't loose them haha. Once I lost the house key and had to get a locksmith only to find the key later that night in the stroller seat! Hopefully, the bikes are still there!

I'm intrigued by pollensa, I might have a look if it's family safe - that-s biggest problem I have with holidays aside from flying with too many children and no enough adults!

As for peom reccommendation the only one I can think of is this one! And it's not that great lol xx

Morning girls.

Glad you enjoyed your holiday Trips. Majorca is a beautiful island - we particularly loved Cala Millor and Cala Bona.

Hope the bike situation solves itself - and quickly xx

triplets · 27/07/2014 11:51

morning Shabs, bikes retrieved! Thomas went off with his mates to the woods at 9am on my bike, insisting that both baskets were taken off first. Majorca suddenly seems a very long time ago.......

Minisoksmakehardwork · 27/07/2014 20:14

And today's dumbest statement was;
"Well you chose to have 4 children!" Coming from my sister. I was too stunned to ask her which twin she thought we should have got rid of.

MultipleMama · 27/07/2014 20:26

I've had the question multiple times from friends. Frustrating isn't it? I feel like saying, "oh sorry, should I have had a polite conversation with my ovaries about egg options?"

How did the statement come about, sok?

Aubrey conquered writing names, today, mainly hers. So proud.

And Artie is now a walker! Shock Her brother's have taken her under their wing. I dread the chaos that follows.

I know Soks really bloody frustrating. The amount of times family/friends have said to me "well you chose to have them". Yes, I went through three years of ivf at the age of 44 because my only child died in my garden unexpectedly and my life was a burning hell. That shuts them up! xx

Jellibob · 27/07/2014 20:54

Trlplets - am shy lurking mother of twins (B/G, now 5) - may I recommend Stoner by John Williams as a book club book? It's the only one that every-one in mine loved and provoked huge discussion.

triplets · 27/07/2014 20:59

Hello Jellibob:) Stay a while we are quite nice really and offer much wine tea and lemon drizzle cake all served on the shag pile carpet........... thank you for your book recommendation am off to peruse it!

triplets · 27/07/2014 21:21

:) Jelly you are a STAR have looked it up and ordered it, love the sound of it, thank you :)

Jellibob · 27/07/2014 21:26

Excellent, hope you don't end up cursing me, but I bet you don't. I was dragged into it kicking and screaming, only started it because I couldn't sleep, and then couldn't sleep because I couldn't stop reading it.

triplets · 27/07/2014 22:14

Are you still in a b/c Jelly? Our has been going just over 8 years, it makes you read books you would never choose doesn`t it? I need a poem now, the theme isROCK that's any type........cake, stick of etc. Every Aug we have a poetry evening on the beach, all take a bottle and one plate of food each and read out our poem, great fun!

MultipleMama · 27/07/2014 22:45

Trips - I only know of one peom with a 'rock' them. The only poetry I know of comes in the form of Edgar Allen Poe!

The poem is called Inchcape Rock by Robert Southey

Good morning all..........very humid grey start to the day after the mother of all thunder storms last night, it was like a monsoon and dd was camping in a friends garden!! Just read on here that 14 people were struck by lightening after a freak thunderstorm in Venice Beach LA, one 20yr old has died, awful. So unusual for CA, where my pen-pal lives in Modesto they go years without rain. Wish dog walkers wouldn`t stop and yak loudly at this time of the morning, right outside my window!!

Minisoksmakehardwork · 28/07/2014 08:59

My sister had the boys so dh and I could go to a BBQ - not a family friendly one unfortunately. Girls went for a sleepover at nana and grandad's. Joshua misbehaved terribly, he was being wilfully naughty and James was, well James. So I said now she has had a view of what a typical day for us can be like. That was her response. She has 3 girls with 5 years between each birthday.

Minisoksmakehardwork · 28/07/2014 09:01

Hello jellibob

Trips, I thought I was imagining a storm during the night. I'm not sure it rained here, it's hard to tell.

MultipleMama · 28/07/2014 11:30

What a snide thing for her to say, sok. You had 4 beautiful children and I bet despite the worries all parents have, you do not regret it one bit :)

I'm 15 weeks, today and this is the longest I've gone without telling anyone except my brother!

Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather. Hi, jel :)

Enjoying the lovely weather here. It has just rained a little. But not enough to do more than sot washing going out just in case it rains again.

Big news in the Soks household, well, I think it is.

James can now ride his bike. Using the pedals and with no stabilisers.

Given that he has only very recently learnt how to use pedals properly this is a very big thing for him.

He has had a balance bike since his birthday last year and it would seem that has really paid off. James is currently zipping up and down the road outside and is so, so pleased with himself.

MultipleMama · 28/07/2014 14:55

Aww that's bloody brilliant, Sok. It takes skill to ride a bike considering the concentration it takes :) I bet he's having a wild time! :)

Such a busy day. Had to change the twins daycare due to a mix-up with placements. Found a more perfect daycare that still has places, and are willing to meet me tomorrow to talk and fill out an application form, if I want to go ahead. On top of that, the dog throw up blood so had to take him to the vets - DH is still there now. We phoned Apollo's PM tech to check his PM, only to find it it's pacing an extra 7%, Artie has a massive bruise on her side from falling over the doorstep, and K threw a MASSIVE tantrum at the park because some other kid pushed him over so K retaliated and screamed in the child's face causing him to cry, and then have K cry because he made the other boy cry, and when I told him it's not nice to scream at people then tantrum arrived.

The joys of parenting, eh? Grin

Blimey Mama how do you cope? May I ask.......do your children look similar, can you tell they are brothers and sisters? Think my Mum was right about mine, she always said they came out of different egg boxes!! My dear Mum.........do miss her xx
You must be very proud of James Socks, bet he is pleased with himself too :)
So sick of this rain, all day, heavy heavy heavy. Can`t believe this time last week I was having a ball in Pollensa, already seems a million miles away :(

MultipleMama · 28/07/2014 23:04

I'm running on fumes! Tomorrow I have my blood tests and I have to take all 6 with me Confused dreading it!

Erm, in some of their features yes, they do and you can sometimes. I can see the similar features; same jaw structure and cheekbones, all small and dainty but other's can't. They're all a varied mix of DH & I. So maybe they are all out of different eye boxes Grin

I miss my mum, too. It's her birthday on 30th and I always find her birthday the hardest. Can't even visit her grave this year with dad. Hardest thing is; my kids never knew her and even though I share memories of her, they just don't "get it" :(

Hi All. I have been reading but not posting, sorry.
Trips- glad you had a nice holiday, and you got the bikes back
Shabbs- very belated happy birthday to Tom, and glad your mum is so settled.
Mama- you really have your hands full, I'm glad you have managed to make arrangements to see your dad, and great news about you midwife brother
Chops - I hope all your days out go ok.
Soks - what a stupid remark to make! and well done to James for the bike riding
Jelly - belated welcome, and hope you can hang around a bit.
The news here- the boys are generally behaving like horrors, bickering and fighting almost continually, being really rude and disrepectful to us, but espcially to dh. TBH they are driving dh and me insane, and this is causing a rift in our relationship. We are both off this week, and we were going to take them on days out, but we are just not inclined to spend money on undeserved treats for ungrateful kids at the moment.
Dh and I have been going on long dog walks together in the evenings just to get away from the kids, and trying to sort our differences.
