Wow Bubbs that must be bliss............is it all itchy though? Its been such a long time for you. x
Well went to the dentist and told him which tooth, he looked up the x-ray of it taken less than 6 months ago and said it was probably infection. So on 2 lots of a/bs three times a day plus higher dose ibuprofen all for a week. If the med doesn`t stop the pain he is goign to refer me to Canterbury hospital for surgery............noooooooooooooooooooo :-(

shabbatheGreek · 03/04/2013 07:41

Morning girls..........3 days of child minding left - may go mad at weekend and try having a lie in Hmm

triplets · 03/04/2013 09:05

Morning Shabs.......oh my gum and tooth are sore :(
Mine are not back until the 15th, its nice not getting up early thats the only thing, seems to be costing me more in food as they want to snack all day, boys are forever hungry. Spose I had better get up, though no-one else has, need a cup of tea and my antibiotics!

triplets · 03/04/2013 09:11

Shabs forgot to say a copy of that book is on its way from Amazon, its going to take me a while to get thru this one and I have my book club book to read by the 25th as well! The book may seem abit confusing, which sounds funny given the context but I can already see where I am going wrong with Hella, its very very good. x

shabbatheGreek · 03/04/2013 09:32

Oh Trips thank you so much - I really appreciate it xx I have to go and see my GP - I need to know if there is anything I can do to avoid Alzheimers, anything at all.........I already know what his answer will be but it terrifies me.

Oh yes the food part of the holidays - Em always sends Lew down with his lunch and treats for him and Tom but my fridge/freezer seems forever empty.

bubby64 · 03/04/2013 12:18

Trips- hope tooth feels better soon.
Shabs- I dont think there is nothing we can really do except keep our minds active.Sad
Yes yes to empty fridge. Mine are not back until 15th eitherConfused
My leg was all scaley but now looking a lot better after a scrub with a defoliater in the showerGrin

shabbatheGreek · 03/04/2013 13:28

Trips - book just arrived!!! On one of the first pages it says 'To Dorothy' which made me smile and 'tear up' a little.

Have only managed to read the first page - the letter to the person with Dementia - already making sense!!

Thank you - you are a star xxxx

bubby64 · 03/04/2013 19:36

Bloody NHS!!!! I and boys took 3,5 hrs, using 3 buses, spending £12 on travel and walked 1/2 mile on crutches to get to Js hospital appointment, which was sent out 2 months ago, I was told on arrival it had been cancelled yesterday, as the original consultant retired at Easter, and his replacement was on holiday! Surely they knew this before yesterday!! They claimed they had tried to ring both my mobile and home number all day yesterday and this morning!, There are no missed calls on my mobile, and there was no message on my home answerphone, and I had been home all yesterday morning and until 12.30 today! I showed them my mobile to prove this!
I was tired and in pain, and ashamed to say i burst into tearsBlush. I first refused to go until J was seen, but, after the unit co-ordinator, who was really nice and very sympathetic, had tried her best to get him seen to no avail, she finally organised a taxi home, as by then we would have missed our last busSad Sad She has also said to contact the consulrants secretary as she felt the hospital should pay for transport to and from the hospital to his re-arranged appointment next Wednesday. She also is encoraging me to make a formal complaint, as she said this keeps on happening, and she could see I had made a huge effort to get him to his appointment without resorting to using hospital transport, despite my personal disability at the moment. We finally got home at 6pm, having initially left home at 12.30, the hospital is only a maximum 35minutes drive away if you go by car by car!!!!!

shabbatheGreek · 03/04/2013 20:57

Oh my word Bubby that is awful.....truly bloody awful. I hope they pay out for your transport next time you have to go. xx

Trips - just rang my Mum and I was telling her about the book....the conversation went like this....

Me: Mum, do you remember Trips?

Mum: Oh yes love - that poor lady who just had those triplets - oh she must have her hands full Smile

Me: Well she has sent me this fantastic book and when I have finished reading it you can have a read as well.

I then explained to her what it was all about and read her little bits out of it. She was so excited about it.

Mum: Whats it called love?

Me: Contented Dementia.

Mum: Whats it about?

Me: Dementia!

Mum: Oh it must be awful to have that - oh hang on a minute I've got it Whats it called love?

Me: Contented Dementia.

Mum: Contented what love?

Dad: CONTENDED BLOODY DEMENTIA DOROTHY!!!!

Mum: Oh shurrup you nowty bugger Im not well.....

MamaBlue4 · 03/04/2013 21:03

We still have a little snow on the ground even though the sun is out.

When we had inches of snow the twins loved it, I pressed a little dt1 and he giggled loudly, I sat him on a sledge and he was content to play in the snow with his snow suit and mittens. dt2 preferred it when his daddy placed his cold hands on his stomach making him squeal and laugh.

One old lady glared at me and scolded me for letting them play in it, saying I was going to make them ill and that they should be inside. You'd think I'd left them outside all day in nothing but vest and diaper instead of an hour in snowsuit, hat, gloves and scarf.

triplets · 04/04/2013 00:01

Shabs that was very quick from Amazon, I am finding it all fascinating, on page 85 atm. It all seems to make such sense of something that doesnt................iyswim!! In fact I got really upset tonight, dk had recorded a prog about 24 hours in the NHS. There was a couple from Essex and he has dementia, she is the sole carer, didnt say his age but looked mid 50s. She took him for his regular hosp appt and I was shocked the way they were talking to and about him. I prob wouldnt have felt that way had I not already learnt alot from the book. All the so called experts should read it. It won`t change the outcome for those with the illness but it obviously can make the journey less stressful for all. Hope it helps xx

triplets · 04/04/2013 00:03

And poor you Bubby, that is terrible, you must have been fuming. xx

shabbatheGreek · 04/04/2013 06:13

Morning girls xx

Mama - Oh my word just been noseying on your profile - sounds like you are very busy!!!! Think I would be rocking in a padded cell by now if I was you!! LOL

MamaBlue4 · 04/04/2013 09:09

shab I'd use that padded cell for some peace and quiet lol. I can't wait until I go back to work September just for break as I'm due in December! Would you like to borrow a child or two? Lol

Sokmonsta · 04/04/2013 09:17

Soklets - love it bubs. Glad you've got your cast off but sorry you had such a shit time getting J to his appointment. It's appalling that they clearly didn't attempt to call you - or even say anything when J was there last time.

Mama - sounds like fun was had by all who mattered Smile we've not had enough snow here for a little while. Every time we get a heavy flurry, the kids go crazy but it doesn't settle.

Shabs - I did have to chuckle at your conversation with your mum. I know it can't be easy right now but it sounds like you are all making the best of what you've got.

Thanks all for your birthday wishes for the twins. They had a very busy day and Jennifer had a very unsettled night (to counter Joshua's the night before). Dh said she finally settled around 4am! I think it just ended up being an overwhelming day again as my mum, sister and two youngest nieces came over so was a bit crowding for the babies. Plus Jennifer really is going through a clingy to mummy stage and random screaming, almost like she's in pain Hmm hopefully it'll pass soon as its wearing on Dh's nerves and in turn that annoys me as she is still only little

shabbatheGreek · 04/04/2013 09:34

No need to borrow any children!!! I have youngest (15) still at home....grandson (4) here what seems like every day LOL....oldest (31) always, always, always on the phone pestering for something....and so it goes on and on and on.

triplets · 04/04/2013 10:04

Welcome Mama, I thought triplets was bad enough at least you have age on your side! My gums are sooooooooo sore!

bubby64 · 04/04/2013 13:02

Welcome Mama, sounds like you had fun. Snowing here again this morning, wish it would stop. Sad
Trying to arrange with hospital transport for next week, but, apparently, I am not eligable as J has no permenant medical problems, and I am not in reciept of any benefits. The fact I have paid out already to get to a cancelled appointment through their mismanagement, have mobility problems and difficulty in using public transport (not that there is any public transport readily available and the time of the sppointment next week means i cant get home via it anyway!) and that i am on SSP at the moment, so can't afford £50 in taxi fare doesn't countAngry
I am now very pissed off , as sitting here with leg elevated as really swollen, and the wound is oozing worse than ever because of my exertions yesterday.

Hi ruby. I have been put in touch with the rural transport group, and they say i am eligable for transport through them. they just need to find one of their members who is able to take us (at a minimal per mile fee), and DH has said if we wait until he finishes work, he will come and pick us up.

MamaBlue4 · 04/04/2013 21:30

sok We did, but I was glad when it was over! The snow sent my 4 year hyper all afternoon, my 23 month old decided to pull down her trousers and sit in the snow, only to cry because it was cold and we took too many photos of the twins first snow day.

shab Not even for an hour or two? I swear, they're like angels you'll not even notice their presence...

triplets I thought it would be easier with 3 babies of the same age? Much better than 4 different routines! Haha. I feel twice my age, and now I act like too; good book and coffee over a night out any day! Hope your gums feel better! I have DH off work with walking pneumonia, (he thinks he's dying )

bubby Sorry, to hear about all the crap your going through, hopefully it all gets sorted and you can relax properly. We had loads of fun, I almost let ds1 throw a snowball at the old lady.

.... I'm just starting to relax with my laptop and coffee when dt2 wakes up... and now dt1. Must dash, the milk machine has to work.

shabbatheGreek · 05/04/2013 06:20

Morning girls xx

MamaBlue4 · 05/04/2013 06:42
