Evening girls, still feeling abit off colour, need a good sleep. Did go to school this morning and was glad I did, they do cheer me up. The teacher asked me to collect the class from the playground, as I was bringing them in he appeared. One of the little girls held my hand and said
"Mrs Peace do you know its my mummys birthday today"?
"Oh thats lovely hope Mummy got some nice presents"
"She did, I gave her some flowers and Daddy bought her a new doormat"!

How we kept a straight face I don`t know :)

Bubby I think he paid a fair bit towards it, will have to see what we can do about it. Plus it was still taxed! Don't really want to go down a legal route, but will have to do something! They are pains in the arse, it isn't the first time, but def the worse. They were living beyond their means, off an inheritance but as the money started running out they sell everything in sight. All the cds and dvds that dh left when he moved out, even the dts Xmas presents from one year went on amazon!

oh and today, his bank card has been cloned and money taken on it!

I can't wait for the weekend!

Grin at the doormat though, that brought a smile to my face.

Oh chops that is crap. I know the whole 'you can't pick your family' thing. But some people really do take the biscuit.

Chopstheduck · 28/02/2013 09:48

sorry that should have been in reply to you soks, not bubby! Yeah, I think it has really finished things for good this time though. We had a falling out with them last time. Shortly after they sold the boys scalextric, we listed some toys (leapad tablets things) his family had bought the boys on eBay. It was at the boys request, they never used the things, they were too young for them really. And the boys wanted the money for mountain bikes. BIL saw them on eBay and hit the roof. They seem to have very strange ideas of gifts - the idea that they are on loan til no longer wanted!

btw, I also see the home as my 'job' and I love it that way. Plus the comping of course! Been doing very long days for the past few days to catch up with the ones I missed last week, now all done and I can relax a bit.

Chops- Soks post could have been from me as I was thinking along the same lines, (small claims court perhaps? ) but if you don't want yo go down that route, there is not much you can really do except swallow the loss and never trust them againSad
Trips Grin Grin at doormat, reminds me of the bit written by a lttle boy when I was helping at school and they were writing about the village they live in. He put "This is the Red Lion Pub, my daddy goes here a lot, and mummy says he should live there, but I don't think we would be able to get daddies bed in the door!"
Soks - I am a bit of a horder, and not the tidiest person in the world at home, but at work I am totally different and keep things immaculate.Blush I really need to sort our house out, but can't at the moment, and won't have time when I go backConfused
Knobber big bros 50th birthdsy on Sunday, I have bought a card, nothing over the top, and that's it. He hasn't mentioned any type of celebration, nor has his ex, who he apparently is on fairly amicable terms, and I am not in the position, either emotionally, financially or physically, to do anything about organising anything.Blush

Chopstheduck · 28/02/2013 14:21

THis is probably going to sound awful, but we do have a credit card of theirs. They gave dh one to use, mainly to build up their credit rating really. All perfectly legit, BIL added dh as an additional card holder. He's had it years and used it on and off. We have some debt on there, which we were clearing fairly quickly. DH is tempted to tell now them they can use the proceeds from the car to clear the rest!!

AIBU?

I don't even send my own brother cards any more. It's not that ever rowed, or that we've fallen out, it's just that he is really wrapped up in himself. He'd never send cards to me, or to the kids, we invited him to visit loads of times, he never bothered. When I go up there (he still lives with my parents) we barely get two words out of him, he is usually in his room. He isn't exactly being intentionally rude, he is just incredibly self focused on himself and his own life. We chat once in a while and leave it at that. I sometimes wonder if he is on the autistic spectrum somewhere tbh!

Chopstheduck · 01/03/2013 08:03

I LOVE turkish delight Sad I did find some muller light yoghurts to satisfy my turkish delight cravings, but they are all wrong. What I really need is a big rose flavoured cupcake. With a chunk of turkish delight on top.

Thanks soks! Too scared to actually post in AIBU!

Goodmorning everyone and a very very Happy Birthday to Mummy of Shabs Thanks I hope she has a lovely day. x

inthewildernessbuild · 01/03/2013 10:57

Hi,everyone, sorry not to have posted for lst few weeks. Halfterm went well, few tantrum from dd due to overtiredness (she is 10 Soks! so you see nothing changes Wink). Lovely to see boys getting on together after long last. No-one really wanted to do much, a bit of annoying homework for ds1, generally I think everyone was longing to completely give up. So that was GOOD!

More school trouble from ds1 (12/13) who sayshe is being teased in PE Sad He had ysterday off with sprained thumb...so down about everything. Said another boy had called Dh a Nazi because he was German SadAngry. Dyspraxia diagnosis slowly emerging, DCD (whatever that is) seems to be the current overview from OT and Ed Pysch. But he is absolutely sweet, I feel happy whenever he gets in from school...he is that sort of boy, he makes me just feel...what have I done to deserve this fine son...(even with knobs on)?

We are moving kitchen to garden room, just trying to finalise layout. Agreed to keep and move aga at vast expense, as it costs same as buying a new dual fual range cooker. Dh said the mornings are cold enough and gloomy enough and the aga is the only thing that helps him survive them. He hates cooking on it though...weird...

chooiseing kitchen cupboards.Builder I think wants Howden. Other builder will do Ikea or Howden. I have a hankering to have proper bespoke kitchen from somewhere like Parlour Farm..it is only a few cupboards, as old kitchen will stay as utitlity storage in another part of house. We never spend any money on this house (except on Agas Blush and hve decided against extension dueto mess and chaos (fear that house will fall down, irrational I know)

Triplets everywhere in Feb is bleak isn't it. Nearly spring, it will come.

Bubbly hope cast situation is going well

Shabba hope family situation improves...sorry not to be more specific, I'm getting muddled now between who said what.

bubby64 · 01/03/2013 11:33

Shabs - Happy Birthday to your Mum xxx Thanks?
Chops - YADDNBU, I think you, shabs and I ought to put our various badly behaving relatives, put them in a small room and throw in a nest of angry wasps, no permenant damage, just temporary extreme pain.
Wilderness - nice to see you back, glad 1/2 term went well. The kitchen seems like a big project. Good luck.
Soks - Hope the day goes well.
Trips - any more Turkish delight and Bailey's?? can't belive it has all gone before I got here,

Chopstheduck · 01/03/2013 13:19

Ooh wasps, can we?! Please? Grin

I'm a big believer in karma though, so I'm sure they wil get a bite on the bum sooner or later!

Nice to see you back, wilderness! DCD is what Jack was diagnosed with. It's developmental co-ordination disorder, our OT said basically co-ordination issues that aren't explained by any other condition! I can't remember why it was exactly, but he didn't appear to have dyspraxia, but does have significant issues, low muscle tone, co-ordination etc, that weren't explained by his hypermobility.

So pleased. Tom has been offered a 6th form college place at our local college doing the two year Btec extended diploma he wanted to do so much. He needs 5 Grade C (or above) GCSE results - he already has 3 certificates from his fast track year 10 GCSE's - but has now decided he wants to get all the exams C grade or above. He is so pleased and so excited. xx

Chopstheduck · 01/03/2013 17:34

shabbatheGreek · 01/03/2013 19:05

Thanks girls xx He is going into school on Sunday!!!! They have one Maths module left to do and then they are finished with Maths......His favourite Maths teacher is doing a revision class from 10 till 2 on Sunday.....he says only 6 people have signed up for it BUT they are all being treated to pizza when they have finished revising Grin He is more excited about the pizza than the revising!!

triplets · 02/03/2013 00:00

Fantastic news for Tomster :) So pleased for you Shabs, and well done you too. I despair with my three and their useless school, can it be a coincidence that I got their grades in the post today and only James is keeping his head above water, the other two are really struggling both with English and Maths. They just got angry when theuy saw them and said, "well what do you expect weve got rubbish teachers and our English teacher cant even speak English properly, shes french! To be fair to them since the shock anouncement of their school closing and merging at least 50 % of the staff have gone, cant blame them can you, they are all losing their jobs. So the kid get a diff face almost daily.Such a worry, gcses coming up..........I dont know what I can do, can`t move them as the only other option is the school they are merging with! To top it all they have insisted all along that our schools current site will be kept for education, even talk of making it 6th form only. Today in the local paper the truth is out, you can guess..............bloody housing development, it really stinks!!!!! Anway no setting the alarm, lovely..........night night all xx
