Zinger · 08/11/2004 14:03

yingers where would be better for you? It doesnt HAVE to be Islington

MarsLady · 08/11/2004 14:04

where are you yingers?

yingers74 · 08/11/2004 14:12

I am in acton! My dd is 20 months and she is rather active!

MarsLady · 08/11/2004 14:14

hmmmmmmmm.... do you drive? would you want to? Need a more central spot that we can all get to easily. (giving lots of thought) We will work this one out.

Embee · 08/11/2004 14:15

I'm in Ealing. Islington isn't too bad as long as rush hour doesn't play a part.
West end would be much better.

Any inspiration MarsLady? Or anyone?

MarsLady · 09/11/2004 22:16

too tired to be inspired darling. However, always happy to pass the buck and allow someone else to make the decision lol

Zinger · 10/11/2004 19:27

How about the Pizza Express near Selfridges ?

MarsLady · 10/11/2004 23:22

sounds good to me.

Zinger · 11/11/2004 13:32

yingers, embee?

yingers74 · 11/11/2004 14:36

hello! I think I will have to give this a miss, my dd finds it difficult to sit eating for too long. It is okay if she has been running around all morning but otherwise it could be a nightmare for all of us! I will try to make a future one.

Zinger · 11/11/2004 14:44

yingers it would be great if we could find somewhere that suits everyone - what type of place would be more suitable for your DD? (Restaurants aren't ideal for mine either tbh - it just seemed like the only option!)

OP posts:
yingers74 · 11/11/2004 14:53

i know. The toddler/crawling stage is so hard! Does anyone know of a place where young kiddies can run around and eat safely? Like a play cafe type thing or a park with a good cafe.

Zinger · 11/11/2004 14:59

Did your Time Out book have nothing suitable? Will start a thread asking for ideas!

the brit musuem sounds promishing, have not been there in years. will take another look, I only looked at the restaurant section! What is the age range I should be looking at?

Blu · 11/11/2004 23:39

What about the Royal Festival Hall? It has huge spaces for little ones to run around, there will be a big 'installation' by an inspired children's theatre co in the 'ballroom' bit for most of december, and it has the bar from which you can see the ballroom bit.

(I'm not planning to come - just suggesting the venue!)

Dev81 · 12/11/2004 00:58

oh i'd love to come, i'm a single mum to DS aged 20 months

maomao · 12/11/2004 08:48

Also, by the British Museum (which does have a big cafe in the rotunda area) there is a small park with wooden tractors and bouncy snails and the like. I think it's on Russell Street, near Southampton Row. Nearby, in terms of restaurants, is a Pizza Express and a Wagamamas.

Zinger · 12/11/2004 16:53

Sounds like we're getting somewhere! Age-wise: my DD is approaching 10 months
