Mixed race baby

I’m getting really fed up of comments about how light my baby is. I’m white and very pale with fair hair and blue eyes. Partner is Jamaican with dark skin and dark eyes. My baby is pale with dark blue/grey eyes and straight brown hair. Anybody else have a baby this light? I’m interested to know whether he will get darker. I love him so much and don’t care what people think but I’m just fed up of ohhh he’s light

My (white) friend is married to a (black) Sudanese man. When she was giving birth to their first baby and the head was crowning the midwife retorted that their wasn't much Sudanese in the baby as he had a mop of blonde hair 😁 Both her kids look white with blonde hair/blue eyes, but look like their father features wise. You would never, ever think they are mixed race though, people assume they are her kids from a previous relationship.

hi! I know this is an old post but was just wondering if baby got darker or? I’m white brown eyes brown hair hubby is Hawaiian Filipino really dark skin. Our first daughter had jaundice when she was born so that made her look darker from the start then she got darker and darker she’s almost hubby’s skin color now. People kept commenting on her when I would be out asking if that was my daughter or if I was the nanny. Now I just had a son and he had some fetal growth restriction in his abdominal area so he was a bit skinny. We found out late in the pregnancy so I was induced but at term (40weeks 4days) he seemed much lighter than my daughter people say to check the ears but to me ears look red lol. Not a good indicator. I noticed his scrotum is much darker than the rest of his skin idk if that could predict skin complexion in the future? Did you notice your babies’s genital being darker? I don’t mind baby might just be white but again people’s comment are annoying now it’s the other way around people joking it’s not Hubbies baby and how white baby his ... anyways hope you see it and give an update! I know this is an oldish thread but I'm white too and pale with blue eyes. My OH is black (Jamaican). My eldest daughter came out quite dark with his Afro hair. She is now 12. My youngest daughter who is 6 came out quite light when she was a baby too. She has my kind of hair but it's curly. As she got older she got darker. Your baby will get darker in time especially when baby is exposed to the sun. I can tell baby is newborn so baby still has time to get his colour. I am currently pregnant with out 3rd baby and I wonder how our baby will come out then.

Don't worry yourself sweetie. Baby's come out all different shades. As long as baby is healthy don't worry about anything. X

My gorgeous dgd was born with straight hair and very pale. Now she's got ringlets and is a golden colour.

He is beautiful. Take lots of pictures because he will change so much as he grows.
My children are mixed race and IME you get a different mixture each time! They are just themselves!
Nobody ever believed DS1 was mine when he was a baby. I got a bit fed up of assuring complete strangers that I was not the nanny or child minder.
Take no notice of comments. Some people are just tactless.

Hey! I have two sons, both to the same dad. My first son came out so dark, dark hair, dark eyes and dark skin, my second son has come out white skin, blonde hair and blue eyes, everyone keeps making comments and I think it’s also making y partner uncomfortable. I’m blonde hair and blue eyes.

I know, I find it so frustrating. He is very blonde with blue eyes and white skin but it’s how genetics work. Especially with biracial families. It’s just not nice x
