PREMIUM BONDS MAY/JUNE 2026

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/04/2026 13:19

PB have been about since 1957
Been 30yrs (April 2024) since a million was then the highest prize

Each bond is £1. You have to buy in minimum of £25 so means 25 chances to win every purchase - years ago you could buy £1 at a time.

Odds of winning £1 million on Premium Bonds at face value with £25 bonds are

1 in 2,737,857,636 - but 2 people have to win it every month so ……

To win anything odds are 1 in 23000

So providing you have more than £100 you have better odds winning something from pb than winning the lottery 😄

And obviously far better than the lottery - you don’t lose your stake !!!!!!

https://www.saga.co.uk/money-news/premium-bonds

Bonds have to be in for a clear month before going into the draw

If you want to cash bonds in then usually takes 3 days to go into your account

Winnings can be reinvested if holdings are under £50k

This means they will go into the next months draw without losing a month

Or sent to named bank account if winnings take over FH /want winnings in bank account
More info here

www.moneyhelper.org.uk/en/savings/types-of-savings/premium-bonds

The best time to buy premium bonds is on the last day of the month, as this means they are only held by NSI for one month and one day, without being entered into the prize draw.

PB to me is the fun and thrill each month of what if I win big and a millionaire - to then hoping win thousands to a day or two later being grateful if win £25😂

I have nowhere near the maximum and probably never will unless I win £50k + on pb

But only takes one £1 to win that million !!! Or in fact any prize

I love seeing the low holdings win high amounts

We've seen over the years £100 holding win a million (March 25) also a £100 holding win £100k and £50 win £25k and even £1 won £10k

Maximum is £50k per person so some do have all for family- mum dad and 2 kids so £200k etx

Those on the thread are varying from few hundred /few thousand - to 20/30k to full holdings of £50k

Everyone is welcome to join in whether small or full holdings

Obviously some people have better 'luck' than others and some worse - Ie full holdings and not winning anything a month or two or even longer

PB odds calculator below

https://pbprizes.com/calculator/

shows the interest rate of the winnings - obv anything over 3.30% is good as if in an account you wouid be taxed so be more like 3%

In August 2023, we had the highest 4.65% But it has been steadily falling since, and of April 2026 it’s 3.3 %

The consistent winners are the 1.16 million people who have the maximum £50,000.

They hold almost half of all premium bonds and, at current odds of 1/2300 can expect a monthly stream of tax-free prizes: two a month and three almost every other month, 28 or 29 a year totaling £1650 (3.3% interest on £50k)

So the median average will always be lower than the mean average.

This means that, with average luck, most people will win less than the prize rate each year, regardless of how many bonds they hold

To work out your own personal % rate
Winnings divided by amount have x 100

But many on here do have £50k and then consider moving it to an account that pays 4% if their bonds aren't doing very well as would then def get extra money

But remember savings /interest get taxed

PB and their winnings don't

So anything over 3% in winnings is considered good.

People dither whether to pull out from pb and put in high interest account if not winning anything so that they will def earn x amount of interest

But then lose the what if won a million or £100k

If you have PB but not sure if you have ever won esp if moved about a lot

you can write to NS&I

There are 2 apps afaik
Cream - prize checker and if won previous month will show a pic - which we all get excited over 😂😂😂

Blue - the app its self works but the showing early often doesn't work for me but those who reinvest their winnings say it shows if won the day before app shows 🙀🙀🙀

Seems the higher the winnings the earlier it shows and can be from 6pm the night before the app shows

And to confuse things I have a White app that is a bookmark - which shows info/list 😄😄😄

Now this has been debated on MANY times but seems to be correct

When do we find out if going to get a visit from AM 😂

The two winners of the £1million prizes will be contacted by Agent Million (AM) 😂😂 the day before the first working day of the corresponding month.

There may however be exceptions to this, such as when the first working day of the month is a bank holiday, for example.

So
AM - Day before first working day - Millionaire knock /call

LIST - First day of working month showing all winners million to £1k winners - which I always put up for those who can't find it

APP - Day after first working day , including weekends - cream app showing all winnings

You can also check to see if have won via this link with your holders number

www.nsandi.com/prize-checker

Hopefully I've covered everything
Good luck one and all 😄

Thanks blondes!

I’m hoping I don’t have another zero return, but if I do, I might have to reconsider my investment

I’m thinking it might look nicer laid on my patio, which currently looks shit🤣

lapuf · 30/06/2026 22:34

Ahh I love a bit of a daydream about winning! Feels so much more likely than the lottery Grin
I’d be able to retire with the top prize, I reckon! But I’d be more likely to buy a big house in Cheshire so I could have my horse in my back garden.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/06/2026 22:51

I am tired. I will stay up the hour to post the list

But I may not check it till tomorrow morning

They've got a better chance of winning than if there were no £1M prizes.

Scrapping the £1M prizes in favour of max £100k prizes would mean 103 of this amount instead of 83, or 1035 instead of 835 £10k prizes. Is a 20% chance of a middle level prize really going to encourage more people to buy bonds?

Even with the max holding of £50k (which the vast majority of PB holders don’t have) the chances of winning one of the two million pound prizes are teeny tiny. You can do a hell of a lot with a mid level prize.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/06/2026 23:57

I THINK MANY HAVE GONE TO NEW THREAD SO IF YOU POST HERE. GO THERE AS WELL

Nothing on the list for me as usual. Thanks for staying up to post it despite your tiredness - and good luck for when you check in the morning!

PremiumBondJovi · 01/07/2026 00:46

Thanks Blondes.

Alas we do not live in Reading or Warwickshire <wails> so we did not miss an AM visit today.

The Warwickshire new millionaire 'only' had £14k in PBs, so quite a long way from FH.

I haven't checked the rest of the HVW list. I'm saving myself and prolonging the Irrational Hope and Excitement until the full results on Thursday morning.

Good luck PBers! Looking forward to some better results for us all this month!

westisbest1982 · 01/07/2026 06:14

Wow at the person in Kent who only has £2450 in holdings and started PB’s in April who’s won £100k.

disappearingfish · 01/07/2026 06:38

Nothing for the fish family on the high value list. We all have —small— distinctive holding amounts so I can scan quite easily.

still in with a chance of a few little prizes! 🤞

FabulousFreshias · 01/07/2026 06:49

I didn’t realise that an high value list existed – is it a case of checking your individual numbers against whatever is on the list? I’m on my iPad so it won’t open for me.

Wolfcub · 01/07/2026 07:08

Nothing on the hv winners list

Siouxtse1 · 01/07/2026 07:19

Well, AM missed out on white chocolate and cranberry blondies.

If I had won, I would have put 400k towards housing, up to 15k for private neurodivergent diagnosis for myself and my children, 15k for an operation my husband requires. Maybe 20k for a fabulous holiday to either New Zealand or Canada.

And then save the rest until I know what the latest government initiatives are and invest for our futures accordingly...

I wouldn't tell my family, but if I found out they were in trouble (or needed to get away from a partner/something similar) I'd find a way to make that easier without them knowing it came from me.

Nugg · 01/07/2026 08:16

I got excited as 6 people have the same holding as me and won on the HV list, but none in my location 😩

You can check the list on the website, where it goes to the £5,000 prizes. The Excel download includes all prizes to £1,000. Sadly I'm not on it 😄

Netaporter · 01/07/2026 09:05

I’m trying a new tactic this month of not checking the list to see if that yields me more luck… Also I’m staying somewhere that has shocking Wi-Fi, so it would literally take an age to download the list anyway 😂 wish me luck for tomorrow! (Assuming that I get enough signal to open the app)

LatteLady · 01/07/2026 09:33

Well, I did not win one of the larger prizes today... I have made this sacrifice, so someone else on the thread will get my share...

Let's hope tomorrow brings me a reward for this self sacrifice...

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/07/2026 09:38

Ah thanks @WidowBonds

@PremiumBondJovi I would love to have £14k in bonds

@westisbest1982 I admit I got a little breathy as going down the list at that. Alas not me

to have that kind of luck. Wow !

@disappearingfish same. I have an unusual amount so can find easily via my county as does mini blondes

@FabulousFreshias the easiest way is to scan down to county then slide across to left to see holdings

if the amount you have then look to the right and see what amount and when brought then happened and see if they match’s your brain

you can then go into the app and check your own numbers

the link should work on iPads. I’m on an iPhone

good luck @Netaporter

I just look at my city and county because I don't know where I'd appear if I was on the list for a holding amount that matches mine, which is an odd amount in the mid £30ks, also the purchase date because most of my bonds are currently quite recent. If there was something that could match mine, I'd start comparing bond numbers although if you had full holdings, you'd need to do that anyway because so many people do have that amount.

PennyPorchetta · 01/07/2026 10:39

Nothing here either, which is a shame as my workplace is difficult right now 😣.

@FabulousFreshias , I open it and switch filtering on in excel, filtering by county and then bonds held amount and lastly bond number sequence. Makes it really easy to see nil results each month. 😅

Buy 3 little houses, one for each dc. (£750,000 gone)
Buy the field I've been longing for since I saw it 40 years ago. (£50,000 more gone)
£50k each to niece and nephew. (another £100,000 gone).
£100,000 in the bank which would be unbelievable. I'd carry on working and so would dh because we don't mind working.

WidowBonds · 01/07/2026 15:34

I live in quite a poor area so there are never many people on the list from here which makes it very easy to check. Just sort the list by area, and read through the 20ish rows looking at holding amount.

I know I'll never be on it, it I get a lot of joy seeing the couple of people near me getting big wins on small holdings.

If I ever got the 1m my dream house on my dream street is actually sub 200k so I could buy it, renovate it to adapt it to my disabilities, and then invest the rest to live off. I ran the numbers the other day (while daydreaming about my win) and at a 4% draw down I'd still be better off than I am currently despite it being a modest amount yearly.

westisbest1982 · 01/07/2026 18:04

I'm not on the HVP list but I'm hoping NS&I have mistakenly put me in a different county <desperate> I'm sure I've read here in the past this has happened to some people.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/07/2026 18:08

I see a lot of croyden and Bromley - which tech should be under Kent

so may give you hope your town is under something different @westisbest1982
