Mine is currently 7.5%, but will go up to 10% after 5 years service, which is soon for me. It is something I look at closely when weighing up new jobs these days.

BumbleBeegu · 24/04/2025 10:19

28.68%

(I know how lucky I am!)

Smithson85 · 24/04/2025 11:35

I'm now public sector but in my last job it was 4% as standard, with the company then matching up to another 4% of employee contribution. Though think this matching changed to 1:1.5 of the additional 4% when you reached a certain age, maybe 40? 🤔

Husband's work are currently putting in 15% at age 55 with min. 5% employee contribution alongside.

Overthebow · 24/04/2025 11:37

Private sector and mine pays in 10%.

Motorolarazr · 24/04/2025 11:39

3%

25doingtherightthing · 24/04/2025 11:45

14.5%

IKnowAristotle · 24/04/2025 12:04

13% (10% with no employee contributions then up to 3% match)

Chewbecca · 24/04/2025 12:06

Hopefully you have a higher salary OP which you are then able to contribute to a personal pension to top up the miserly provision?
My last employer was 8% plus matched up to another 7% so in total 22% went in, 15 them and 7 me.

Charcol · 24/04/2025 12:32

wow these are good rates for some people.

My employer matches my contribution + 1%.
So if put in 5% , they put in 6%

Spacecowboys · 24/04/2025 12:36

I pay in 12.5% employer 23.7% .

12%.

I have to put in 8% for them to do 12%, and 12% is the max they’ll do.

Owlicecream88 · 24/04/2025 13:18

I put in 8% and my employer 16%.

minnienono · 24/04/2025 13:18

Legal minimum into a Nest account. Think it’s 5%

irregularegular · 24/04/2025 13:23

University, 14.5%

5% is the employee contribution. Employer only needs to pay 3%

Boohoo76 · 24/04/2025 13:25

5% and I have never worked anywhere in the private sector that contributes more than this! I contribute 10 to 15% myself to try to compensate for the miserable employer contributions.

oustedbymymate · 24/04/2025 13:26

Bare minimum

Mangolover123 · 24/04/2025 13:29

7.5% after 5 years, I top it up to the max allowed, approx. 36%

Yuja · 24/04/2025 13:38

Private sector - they pay 8% and I pay 5%. 8% is the max they pay whatever you choose to pay in yourself. Not amazing but better than my last company who paid 3% no matter what I paid

Clickncollect · 24/04/2025 14:15

7% and then my employer will half match my contributions

ObliviousCoalmine · 24/04/2025 15:37

I do 6.5%, they do 26.4%.

Kuretake · 24/04/2025 15:45

Until about 6 months agoy employer paid legal minimum which worked out at a little under 1% of my salary. It's just gone up to 8% which feels loads to me now.

MiddleAgedDread · 24/04/2025 16:44

a pretty poor 6.5% (private sector)

menopausalmare · 24/04/2025 16:45

28% ish.
