Weeeeegoagain · 24/04/2025 18:33

23.7%

Lemonandappletree · 24/04/2025 18:37

9% maximum matched contribution. I do more than that as started quite late

JaninaDuszejko · 24/04/2025 18:41

Between 8-15% depending on my contribution.

Lemonandappletree · 24/04/2025 18:41

BumbleBeegu · 24/04/2025 10:19

28.68%

(I know how lucky I am!)

Private or public sector?

UsernameUnknown444 · 24/04/2025 18:43

3%. That’s even if I pay in more than the minimum (which I do). Private sector.

Lemonandappletree · 24/04/2025 18:43

Some of these are really good; mostly public sector, civil service I guess? Looks like I may have to move jobs

Lemonandappletree · 24/04/2025 18:45

sofasoda · 24/04/2025 18:26

What companies are paying over 20% in addition to employee contributions??!!

Local government, teachers, civil service, police is 35% I think.

That’s amazing

REDB99 · 24/04/2025 18:45

29% 🙌

sofasoda · 24/04/2025 18:49

@Lemonandappletree I moved the public sector and the main draw was the pension.

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 24/04/2025 18:54

@Sofiewoo post 16 ed

RockahulaRocks · 24/04/2025 18:58

Private sector, 11% is the max employer contribution if I pay in 5%

BumbleBeegu · 24/04/2025 18:59

Lemonandappletree · 24/04/2025 18:41

Private or public sector?

Teacher’s Pension Scheme.

Fibrous · 24/04/2025 19:01

Yuja · 24/04/2025 13:38

Private sector - they pay 8% and I pay 5%. 8% is the max they pay whatever you choose to pay in yourself. Not amazing but better than my last company who paid 3% no matter what I paid

Same for me.

SharpOpalNewt · 24/04/2025 19:06

8% and I match it in salary sacrifice. Pretty good in the private sector. All other places I've worked in was half that.

Lemonandappletree · 24/04/2025 19:09

sofasoda · 24/04/2025 18:49

@Lemonandappletree I moved the public sector and the main draw was the pension.

I should probably do the same.

Game0fCrones · 24/04/2025 19:13

25% of salary but I'm ancient and its tax efficient. Private sector.

BeetyAxe · 24/04/2025 19:17

They pay 19.5% and I pay 8.5%.

Fletchasketch · 24/04/2025 19:22

Blimey some of these are good! Mine is 9% and I have to contribute a minimum of 5, anything over that isn’t matched, though they do do NI pass-back via salary sacrifice.

DefyingGravidy · 24/04/2025 19:23

I’m amazed there are places in the private sector paying over 10%! My little mind is blown.

Mine is 6%, which is better than my previous employer which was matched contributions to 4%. I pay in 12% myself.

I hope those with high employer contributions add that on when comparing your pay with other jobs.

UniqueRedSquid · 24/04/2025 19:35

27.1% in the public sector. But if that was dropped and not replaced in my salary I would leave. I could earn more in the private sector but pension and retiring early are important to me.

Salary has been seriously depressed since 2010, it’s the only major draw left.

juicelooseabootthishoose · 24/04/2025 19:38

Employer does 8% regardless of employee contributions. I do 6% so get 14 overall. Its not bad in my sector.

MisfitMagpie · 24/04/2025 19:38

Private sector, matches to 8%.

MichaelandKirk · 24/04/2025 19:39

I will be honest. Nearly 30% is surely not sustainable especially if it’s guaranteed once you retire

MichaelandKirk · 24/04/2025 19:41

Anything round about 30% will be public sector

elrider · 24/04/2025 19:41

UsernameUnknown444 · 24/04/2025 18:43

3%. That’s even if I pay in more than the minimum (which I do). Private sector.

Same, and every job I've had since it became mandatory has been the same 3% minimum. I'm so shocked so many people are getting more (and in many cases, MUCH more)! I thought there might be the odd company offering 5% or something but never expected it could be more.
