botwatch 81. The latest thread in a very long series about the deceptions practised by mlms. Unbelievably people are still being hooked in by these schemes where 97 of those who join lose money?

Thread 81! The scam that keeps on giving! MLM, network marking, social selling or whatever else you want to call it. It rinses you of your money, time and friends for the dream of wealth, which never happens. Why? The business model ensures that only those at the very top of the 'pyramid' stand a chance of wealth, all the rest of us just "pay to play". The dream is a nightmare. Tell your stores here.

I went to the same show, I followed him, then just lost me, then I’m back on, then lost me.

a totally humbling experience, but the nerd in me loved it!

I was ok for the first half but got a bit tired after the interval and my mind kept wandering. I was proud I understood as much as I did though!

I went to a lecture by Professor Brian Cox last year. He was trying to explain quantum mechanics to the audience and not once did he mention manifestation. Black holes yes, but getting what you've put on your goal board via physics er no.

Me and my DH went to see his Horizons talk on Friday in Edinburgh. What a star! Wink and yes, not one mention of manifestation Grin.

I see someone has asked Yawn when she's off to India (on her post about holiday destination ideas) ...Yawn is yet to reply.

Strange that she's talking about booking a holiday when, in all the years these threads have been running, the only non FL holiday she's ever had was a long weekend in Spain
(not that FL trips are a holiday anyway).

YouOKHun · 19/03/2024 09:49

Yawn’s “I need to book a holiday, give me ideas” post is a deflection from something (as it always is with her). Perhaps she’s not going to India though the pressure to be there must be immense. Perhaps she needs create an aspirational conversation as she can’t afford to go on holiday, so talking about it as if she’s deciding where to go is a good distraction. Lots of people responding with the places they’ve been or would like to go. I’m so tempted to say, ‘last year I had a brilliant week long activity holiday learning how to re-thatch a house. Why don’t you do that?’.

Spongebobette · 19/03/2024 09:52

It’s one of the typical bot questions to get engagement
ask for recommendations for something - people love to advise others on holidays or purchases or what to watch on Netflix
but I’m interested to know about India and if she’s going and if so why so quiet

YouOKHun · 19/03/2024 10:14

It’s the same rather unYawn-like vagueness as Bali last year isn’t it? I wondered last year if she is actually just a very nervous traveller as she was clearly out of sorts last year, I feel the same this time.

It’s interesting that she tends to bang on about other trips like Cannes but these two far destinations are very different. They should surely be the pinnacle of the FLP bot social calendar? Perhaps it reflects the fact that Mr Yawn has been unsure about his attendance and she can’t really do it without him? A lot of the other partners can probably take holiday entitlement to join their bots but Mr Yawn is probably freelance so no work no pay and deadlines to meet. One thing’s for sure, she is keen not to let the facade slip. It must be exhausting all the keeping up appearances she has to do.

Spongebobette · 19/03/2024 10:49

And she’s not made a big fuss about taking a minion as her plus one …

Sugarplum48 · 19/03/2024 14:11

It's OK she's manifesting and writing a dream journel.

dickiedavisthunderthighs · 19/03/2024 17:03

She's on desperation street. The whole manifestation thing always comes when they have exhausted all other options. It's also what they tell all their downlines to do when they complain that they're losing money hand over fist.

Sugarplum48 · 19/03/2024 17:13

It's like something my 9 year old daughter would do "mum look at my dream journal". It's sad to watch

YouOKHun · 19/03/2024 17:22

Agree it’s a sign of desperation.

“Quick downlines, look over there at the mirage of success I’m manifesting - I need you to stay focussed on the dream over there where I’m pointing because if you look over here you might start to notice I’m not living the dream, so look at my photo of a beach, focus on your dreams, park your critical thinking and don’t allow a negative thought to enter your heads. If I’m lucky you’ll be so distracted by your dream boards you won’t notice all the little pieces of information that reveal I can’t make this scam work either”.

Spongebobette · 19/03/2024 18:19

Yes there are no actual success stories/ new cars/ expensive purchases for her or anyone in her downline

and in her latest insta story it’s all about ‘putting plans in place’ for a new bot to earn £700 a month - showing her how to create this income by selling to 20-30 regular customers and recruiting 2 or 3 people too

but, importantly, to plan her dream holiday by deciding on a date and destination and pretending it’s really happening to trick her brain into having the right mindset

eh???

Tinkabell02 · 19/03/2024 18:24

I’ve seen it all now that Yawn is making Mr Yawn take down the desk and rebuild it somewhere else because of all the manifestation crap 😂 apparently she has been facing the door with her back and that is telling the universe “NO , I don’t want any good things happening “ so she must now face the door to allow success and wealth in 😂 , but that then means all these years of her bleating I’m oh so successful and wealthy have been lies, what a shock !

ticktock19 · 19/03/2024 19:21

I agree, watching Mr Yawn dismantling an entire room due to Yawns new Feng Shui idealisations is quite ridiculous...she's on serious desperation street and seems even more high pitched and manic too

YouOKHun · 19/03/2024 20:32

That desk dismantling post is almost as ridiculous as Sleaze’s pointing at other people’s yachts video @Tinkabell02

If Yawn wants to attract wealth, or even just a bit of income, she’d be better off letting Mr Yawn put down his DIY tools and get back to quietly trying to shore up her expensive hobby job. What does Feng Shui have to say about having a mangy thatch hovering above you? Turning all your Next sofas to face east is not going to help is it?

As Yawn has transitioned so smoothly from Nutrition and Spanish to Chinese philosophy-lite she should be aware of what Confucius said which is of particular relevance for Yawn:

Confucius say: Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.

Confucius did not say: I need a goal board and a clear view of the exit.

SnoogyWoo · 20/03/2024 14:43

Wouldn’t you just love to be a fly on the wall when those conversations with Yawn and Bloodsucker are going on!

Wintersgirl · 20/03/2024 17:29

Yawn is so high maintenance and her sap of a husband goes along it....

YouOKHun · 20/03/2024 18:24

Yawn’s “tree” analogy provides a description of her and indeed all uplines as “leaf people”

“These are people who come into your life just for a season. You can't depend on them because they are weak. They only come to take what they want, but if the wind comes they will leave. You need to be careful of these people because they love you when things are okay, but when the wind comes they will leave you”.

It couldn’t describe an upline like Yawn any better could it?

The other more permanent type of person is a root person apparently. To my mind this describes a botwatcher. Because we are the only people who stick around these bots not out of self interest or for endorsement but because we are deeply troubled by the behaviour of these companies and the behaviour they quietly endorse, and the affect it has on people. But I don’t think she means us!

”These people are very important because they don't do things to be seen. Only the root type of people will stay no matter the season”

Of course headband bot has blindly copied it and no doubt Speccy too🙄. It’s just another version of the command to stay away from people who question the MLM.

Spongebobette · 20/03/2024 18:53

At least it makes a change from the ‘bowl of fruit with one rotten one’ post which did the rounds a while back

ticktock19 · 20/03/2024 18:58

It's like rinse and repeat- Uber is now asking for holiday inspiration 😂

Not sure if I would be boasting about the UK manager driving over to see you to present you with your weird plaque but actually not making it to your house and you meeting him at a holiday inn for breakfast! Why wouldn't you ask him to yours or did you not want him to see your mouldy thatch ??

YouOKHun · 20/03/2024 19:21

Spongebobette · 20/03/2024 18:53

At least it makes a change from the ‘bowl of fruit with one rotten one’ post which did the rounds a while back

All bot apples are mouldy from the inside and none of them fall far from the Leaf People Tree which is planted in a bucket of shite and encouraged to grow using a liberal dose of Aloe Vera.

That’s my pointless and flawed analogy for today.

@ticktock19 it says a lot about the CM that he’s driving all the way to Yawnsville to hand over a meaningless certificate in a cheap frame, and it doesn’t say the positive things Yawn thinks. To me it tells us he’s a micromanaging and under-employed man with iffy priorities. The only possible reason for wasting that time, fuel and cash for an Alan Partridge Travel Tavern breakfast is because there is direct pressure to be applied to Yawn and he senses she’ll do anything required by him/FLP.

YouOKHun · 20/03/2024 20:17

*moldy!

ticktock19 · 20/03/2024 20:19

I forgot to name Yawn 🤣🤣🤣. Glad the thatch gave it away

ticktock19 · 20/03/2024 20:21

And I absolutely agree @YouOKHun, it's a odd thing for him to do and you do get the feeling that Yawn is being micro managed from every possible direction

YouOKHun · 20/03/2024 22:28

Yes @ticktock19 and I get the feeling that , as he’s the son of an FLP bot who followed his father into the scam he is just a dyed in the wool bot himself who couldn’t really cut it outside NWM. There’s nothing professional about him or a sense that he can take a strategic overview, just that he has been sent in to be a noisy smiley coercive creator of silly little short term “promotions” and attention grabbers. It’s all so low rent.
