Thread 81! The scam that keeps on giving! MLM, network marking, social selling or whatever else you want to call it. It rinses you of your money, time and friends for the dream of wealth, which never happens. Why? The business model ensures that only those at the very top of the 'pyramid' stand a chance of wealth, all the rest of us just "pay to play". The dream is a nightmare. Tell your stores here.

@Sugarplum48 2.5K is in 'CCs' (case credits, basically FLP's internal currency for calculating promotions, bonuses and the like). That and the CB level will determine the size of the CB cheque (my guess is mid-4 figures in this case)

I was selling at a local makers market and there was a tropic stand there (god knows why as she's not a maker).
Anyway, she talked the talk and walked the walk but must have sold max 3 things all day. That's all day her stuck inside a hall selling stuff for someone else. Does she keep 30%? Not sure - but I bet she made below minimum wage.

YouOKHun · 05/02/2024 14:07

@OffToBedforshire that is the usual outcome when a bot takes a stand at an event because when the products are put in front of “real customers” at the price the bots need to get for them, they have little appeal.

Many is the time I’ve seen an MLM stand at an event with what seems like an invisible force field around it, with the rest of the stands doing a brisk trade and no one going near the MLM stand. I remember a few years ago a friend of mine had a stand at a one day Christmas market next door to an Arbonne stand. As she was right next to the stand and had help she offered to keep a note for me about how many visits and purchases she saw. From 10am until 6pm she saw about twenty people actually stop and browse but she did not see one sale or anyone pausing long enough to give any personal details. My friend and the Arbonne person had paid the same for a stand; not cheap!

What no one tells these hapless bots is that the products are only there to extract money from them, beyond that they are not attractive. Tropic is so expensive. I have observed people starting with them and getting a few “supportive” purchases but it’s rare that customers are going to want to buy, for example, a 15ml eye cream costing £36 as often as someone is going to need to sell it. I expect the Tropic person you saw is finding this out.

Did you feed back to the people running the market?

kittykitty007 · 05/02/2024 14:24

Place marking! Been following these threads since the days of barn bot!

ItWasnaMeGuv · 05/02/2024 16:42

I'm just watching Yawn stating "...and then to be awarded number two in the company is just freaking amazing".

It sounds somewhat disingenuous when you realise that anyone listening to her will assume she means just that, number two in the company, with only one other ahead of her.

But does she? Can someone confirm the truth of the matter. Chairman's Bonus Level 1 (the lowest level) does not sound like someone who is number two in the company, even if it covers UK, Ireland and Iceland.

That looks like a shit afternoon tea, it's just tea with a few cakes, no sandwiches or scones (there maybe a scone on the plates but it appears to have fallen foul of rosettes of squirty cream on and luminous jam). Then random aloe tubs dotted around. It looks as dull as dishwater too.

I took a screenshot of yawns award and it is 'number 2 in open volume sales' which we think relates to her flogging her 'diet' probably via her groups / TikTok and I'm sure was said in the previous thread that the open volume means it's just her selling stuff and is completely unrelated to her team / down lines efforts. As she's probably exhausted her TikTok / diet group channels now then she won't be number 2 this year

ticktock19 · 05/02/2024 17:00

Have scribbled out yawns and mr yawns names

Nu- skin is popping up on my feed a lot.

seems to be recruiting from the mean girls at my old school.

how much are they earning? I see them go on about the amazing lifestyle they have because of it. But I can’t imagine there being a market to support all of them in our medium sized home town!

YouOKHun · 05/02/2024 17:20

@ItWasnaMeGuv I was just about to post the same screenshot as Ticktok19. I’m quoting @definitelynotabot here, from the last thread:

*IIRC total volume is your whole downline.

Open is your Non-Manager business, is everyone in your downline who isn't part of the team of any Managers in your downline.

So someone can be high up in Open volume, but if they don't have many (active) managers then they may have a low total volume*

So would I be correct to say that if for example Yawn is able to coerce people into spending their money on Aloe but is less good at building and keeping a team then this is the labour intensive way of ending up with 2nd prize in a very specific and not particularly lucrative category? Yawn so often lies via a sin of omission and this is a case in point. I do wish her followers would just take a moment to clarify for themselves exactly what she implies. It would save them some trouble further down the line. As you say Itwasname, disingenuous.

YouOKHun · 05/02/2024 17:30

@Threecrows I don’t know if you saw the BBC documentary in 2019? Rather a long time ago now. NuSkin was featured in the documentary along with Younique and there were many good points made about the problems of MLM. I doubt the lies told or the behaviour used to recruit victims to NuSkin has changed.

The people you know are probably not earning anything and if they think they are earning then they’re probably not looking at what they’re spending. Link in case you didn’t see the documentary https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p076n2hg

The new skin care on I’ve seen is Simon Oraian beyond Beauty. They were offering everyone who signed up as an ambassador by the end of Jan a share of their profits if they made a certain level. They are also going in to Ireland and Spain too. It’s a subscription skin care for the 3 months worth of the essentials is about £300 I believe.

Sunsea21 · 05/02/2024 17:48

I just don’t understand how these mlm huns can attract anyone anymore, soo many people are wise to their scams now

Threecrows · 05/02/2024 18:55

@YouOKHun thanks for link. I’ve actually got a friend who is genuinely envious of one of the hun bots. Had to explain the money is from her husband’s business.

I calculated that to earn an extra £500 a month, you’d need to sell about £10k of cosmetics a month! I’m sure my local Boots would struggle to sell that much no.7 products.

NormalForNuneaton · 05/02/2024 19:23

Checkout Specsavers Bot's gym photo .

It looks like it's been taken in a Hall of Mirrors at the fun fair😂. Either that or shocking photoshop skills.

Seriously, what's the point of such a distorted image!?

Wintersgirl · 05/02/2024 22:07

She wants to be just like her idol.....sad woman

YouOKHun · 05/02/2024 22:20

I can’t see a gym photo. @Wintersgirl agree, there’s a lot of parroting Yawn, it’s a bit desperate.

Wintersgirl · 05/02/2024 22:31

YouOKHun It's on her FB page, you have to scroll down a fair bit though...

YouOKHun · 05/02/2024 22:46

Ah got it, thank you! She ought to be careful, it looks like the gym wall behind her is melting, it could collapse on her at any moment like a Blancmange.

Spongebobette · 06/02/2024 07:40

I think Yawn shifted a few C9s through her TikTok activity so she’s got second place in the rankings - but it’s prizes for all isn’t it and everyone gets their turn on stage

definitelynotabot · 06/02/2024 08:34

The bar for prizes is so much lower than it used to be.
Far, far lower.

ticktock19 · 06/02/2024 08:38

Interesting stage decor at an afternoon tea by FL (photo lifted from specsavers), quick face wash anyone after the cake??

I've missed a couple of threads as life got very busy, but has anyone spotted the latest Arbonne income disclosure statement for the UK? It's from 2022. Arbonne has well and truly tanked!

Those flashy 'NVPs' or whatever they're called, renting the massive houses and parading around in designer gear. Well, they're now on a median gross income (before expenses) of £35k!

I wish all other MLMs released these.

Sugarplum48 · 06/02/2024 10:32

And interestingly when you look at the flp bot shops all products are reduced in price! Why? Because they are ridiculously over priced and flp is hopefully tanking

Sharpness19 · 06/02/2024 11:49

Any clues to Specsavers Bot please? I know who Yawn is.

BangingOn · 06/02/2024 12:10

@grumpytoddler1 thanks for sharing that, it’s very interesting reading. As you say, I wish these income disclosures were universal.
