ASDA REWARDS VOUCHERS USELESS

I've just been into my local ASDA and yet again my Rewards Vouchers show up as invalid on my receipt. The first time I tried to use them a few weeks ago this happened and I was told by the cashier to phone customer services. I tried twice but after holding on for over 45 mins each time I gave up. I then had the bright idea of buying just a couple of items at the customer service desk, stupidly thinking they would be able to get them to work. They couldn't and after a large queue developing behind me, they advised me to email customer services rather than phone. I had to email twice over 2 weeks before I got a reply, so much for their promise to respond within 48 hours! They subsequently deleted my vouchers and returned the money to my "pot" so that I wouldn't run out of time to use the vouchers. They said their technical team was looking at the problem with vouchers and to leave it a few days before creating new ones. I've just been into asda again and, unsurprisingly, my new vouchers don't work either. I was told by the cashier that I'm not the first this had happened to, so wondered if anyone else has come across this and how did you resolve the issue?

I tried to use mine for the first time yesterday sand had exactly the same problem. No solutions from the staff, just given a customer service number to call. Useless system

Yes it's so annoying isn't it? Especially as they keep advertising on TV and the damn things don't work!

First time trying to use my £1 voucher today, and no sign of the money coming off my bill but the voucher has disappeared from the app 🤬 I couldn’t work out what had happened, but it looks like it’s part of a wider problem. How annoying!

There seems to be a big problem as well with peoples account being hacked and the vouchers stolen from the cash pot.

Well, I know mine definitely work, as someone hacked in to my account and stole £22 of them 🤬. Luckily after about 2 weeks asda returned the full amount to my pot.

Mine haven’t worked either. The staff in Asda say they have had no info on how to trouble shoot and issues with the Cash Pot. The ‘team’ have said they will contact me by email when the glitch is fixed but I’ve not heard anything yet. They must have spent a huge amount of money promoting something that doesn’t work! Ridiculous and frustrating.

@jhocknull Thats exactly the same situation as me. None of the staff know how to sort it out, which obviously isn't their fault, in fact, I end up feeling sorry for them as they frantically try to scan the damn things over and over again. It's a nightmare getting through to customer services either by phone or email. It makes me angry when I keep seeing the advert, promotions etc. As you say, they are spending a fortune promoting something that doesn't work!

Hi do you have the email address that you need to email please as my vouchers aren't working either and I've rang 3 times for an hour each time but still can't get through, it's so frustrating

@Kellyblueeyes hi I've just checked and they have removed the email address from the Rewards App. I originally went onto the app and under the help section, chose the problems with redeeming vouchers section and it took me to an automatic email address. I've just checked again for you now and they have removed it and you only have the option to phone them. They must have been inundated with emails. Its very annoying!

Ah thanks for checking for me, a few times when I ring it's says invalid number, they have just put an automated message on the line so I doubt they are even answering any calls, they know what they are doing it's just a total scam so you spend more money thinking your getting money back, it's shocking

@Kellyblueeyes yes it's appalling isn't it. It would be so much easier if they posted vouchers to you, like TESCO Club card. This whole thing is a waste of time.

I had this the other day at my local Asda. The checkout lady got help from someone else and apparently to make the vouchers work
• scan the reward app first
• then do not touch anything
• scan the voucher barcode
• don't touch anything
• scan the other vouchers if needed
• then touch the screen for total

It's the touching the screen in between vouchers than causes the problem

@TheCatWithGreenEyes thanks for the reply. I've just looked at the app and you have to touch the screen after scanning the reward app/card no. as the voucher bar code is so far down the screen. You have to touch the screen in order to be able to bring up the barcode to scan it?

It's the checkout staff that don't touch the till screen like they would normally with a voucher. They have to scan then go to payment and it will automatically take them off x

@TheCatWithGreenEyes thanks so much, that's very interesting. You'd think by now, after all the problems, that all the checkout staff would be aware of this. It seems as if they haven't been trained to deal with the vouchers at all. Thanks again!

@Razia101 I've totally given up on mine. I shopped at asda today and didn't even bother scanning the app. Someone has made a right hash of this rewards scheme and asda don't seem to care.

I've eventually managed to use my vouchers I did the scan and go which I never do and as soon as I scanned them myself it worked straight away, not sure if it will work for others but worth a try

@Kellyblueeyes I never use the self checkout thing, I always go to an assistant operated checkout. I'll try this myself next week and fingers crossed it works!
