Pure Planet to Shell Energy, have you had a bill yet?

Nothing yet, I submitted meter readings last week and waiting nervously..

Thanks, just checked mine and now have more details.
I cancelled my dd and cleared my final bill with pure planet so no balance to transfer.
Shell took 1st direct debit this week, and that is showing on my account.
I gave an end reading on 17 Oct (which was used for final PP bill and has come across onto my Shell account), another on 31 Dec as requested and have just submitted a 3rd now.
My usage has been pretty steady at an average 10kwh per day over that period.
Electric only, as on oil for boiler.

Summersdreaming · 21/01/2022 19:54

Looks like we are getting closer, mine just says account balance £0 so still none the wiser.

My app is now suggesting i increase eve dd. By £16 a month

Youmeanyouvelostyourkey · 24/01/2022 20:37

Just had a similar message asking me to update by £8 a month. I've increased it by £15 to give me a bit of leeway. I'm going to have to make a manual payt for January though as the DD doesn't start until feb. They have acknowledged our meter too so that's good.

Hopefully we are getting there at last

Chasingsquirrels · 24/01/2022 21:46

Mine is telling me to decrease my DD.
Despite the fact that I've paid nothing since October!
I guess they'll change that suggestion when they do the first bill.

Spacie · 24/01/2022 22:11

Just logged in and they are recommending a small reduction in the DD.
This is actually not surprising because Pure Planet took a higher DD in the winter than in the summer. If Shell is the same all year then it shouldn't need to be as high as the Pure Planet "Winter rate".

I was already on the Standard Variable at Pure Planet.

unicornsarereal72 · 25/01/2022 10:08

I was with green and moved to shell my credit moved with
Me and I had a bill middle of dec. I've not had an update since which is annoying. I've no idea if I'm paying enough or if I can afford to put the heating on. They suggested I double my direct debit though. 🥲

earlydoors42 · 25/01/2022 15:32

I'm confused. I had a very small debit when I left Pure Planet (about £45). I left my DD running at £111 per month as instructed and it was last taken on 29 Dec so I have paid that every month. That was my winter rate at PP.

Now my account at Shell says I'm £192 in credit and I need to increase my DD to £175 a month! This is despite being cold all the time. Last winter I had the heating on all day every day as there were constant kids isolating. This winter I barely have it on in the day and have it a couple of degrees colder when it is on.

unicornsarereal72 · 25/01/2022 15:37

Has your shell account got any bills debited from your account. I've had one on 12th dec for the period of sept to then. But nothing since

Spacie · 25/01/2022 16:18

@earlydoors42

Were you on a fixed rate at Pure Planet?

earlydoors42 · 25/01/2022 17:17

@Spacie no I was on a variable rate I'm pretty sure.

I can't see anything debited from my account? It's not clear at all what is happening.

Summersdreaming · 07/02/2022 20:46

I'm getting pissed off now, still no bill! My account says bill date is the 3rd, and it's the 7th and nothing has updated. How can it be ok to leave people in limbo in the midst of the biggest energy price rises in years Angry

OP posts:
Land0r · 08/02/2022 10:13

Mine was emailed this morning. Account is £323 in credit as I didn't cancel the Pure Planet direct debit, and new direct debt is £70 a month going forwards.

Chasingsquirrels · 08/02/2022 11:23

I've also had an email this morning saying my bill is ready, but it isn't showing on my account.

ButterMeTimbers · 08/02/2022 11:34

If it helps, I was with Green who went bust mid Sept - and was then moved to Shell. I didn;t get my first bill from Shell until end Nov and first DD taken beginning of December.

Kittensgalore · 08/02/2022 11:40

@Land0r
Were you with Pure planet previously? When I checked last week my new account with Shell was also saying I was over £300 in credit but that my DD should go up from £89 ( pure planet winter rate for gas and electric) to £110. I haven't checked again though, keep imagining they've got it wrong and I'm in that much debit!

Kittensgalore · 08/02/2022 11:43

@Summersdreaming
It is really terrible, I hope everyone's bills/account info comes through really soon. Going to steel myself to check again.

Summersdreaming · 08/02/2022 12:54

I filled in a complaint form yesterday and got a generic reply pointing me to the help centre FAQ, that says something like 'don't worry, you'll get your bill soon' Hmm

Our update is there. I had to go into invoices to see it though. We are £19 in credit

Youmeanyouvelostyourkey · 08/02/2022 16:58

I should add that it still said I was £500 in credit on the first account screen but once I drilled down I could see it.

Land0r · 08/02/2022 18:24

Kittensgalore Yes, we were with Pure Planet before. The Pure Planet direct debit was £70.97 per month, the new Shell one is £70 exactly, so almost identical.

Thank you! Mine was tucked away too. £400 since the end of October Shock I was paying £43pm before. Fucking hell.

Limmers14 · 08/02/2022 22:06

Is everyone in credit because they kept their direct debits to Pure Planet going? We stopped ours in October as we had no end of issues with them (settled up everything before doing that). We have now received a bill from Shell on the Flexible 6 tariff for £870 which is just so so shocking. Normal usage of everything, roughy the same energy usage as the same period in 2020-21.

Chasingsquirrels · 08/02/2022 22:17

Interestingly my usage (electric only) has decreased.
Partly as I've a inflatable hot tub that we only use in the summer which will be increasing annual usage it obviously not on this bill from 17 Oct - 31 Jan.
However, I think the main saving must be ds1 having gone to uni and not running his devices!

Summersdreaming · 08/02/2022 22:48

Oh wow £870 😔 that's horrendous. Yep some people kept the dd going, I cancelled mine so my balance was zero until today obviously.
