@Tinkerbellfluffyboots79

I didn’t provide a letter from school & I didn’t for my older son either he’s now 20
I wish there was some consistency. I didn’t have to provide evidence for my 19 year old either when she started a levels but they seem to be telling people different things. I doubt they ring round all the schools finding out who’s staying and who’s not.

Has anyone’s account been updated? From previous experience do we just miss this payment and get the next one? Sorry first time I’ve been here so nothing to compare it to as no older kids . Not sure I can wait till next week for a payment without borrowing money from my dad or something!

whatisthisinhere · 02/09/2021 04:21

This has happened to me. I informed child benefit that my 16 year old is staying in education, I haven't heard anything from child benefit. My child tax credit pay,Ent for this week has been halved, and When I try to get online to check payments I can't get past the sign in page. Luckily I do have enough to get by this week. I didn't realise that I have to inform child tax credits that my 16 year old will continue to receive child benefit, so now I will have to phone at 8 am.
Ds1 is off to uni, so I have expenses this month, luckily I don't need to buy any more uniform for the other dc.
I'm worried I've messed up totally

YesIDoLoveCrisps · 02/09/2021 05:50

I am worried they will take the missed payments and add them over the rest of the year meaning that I miss out on this few weeks payments because it’s paid over the next year.

Smokeymirror · 02/09/2021 06:19

It’s so annoying when you do everything right and inform them yet they still can’t get their acts together and think we are fine just to do without a weeks money !

My account has now been updated and back on track with the weekly payments, still getting a payment as normal this week! My payments have reduced I don't know why (maybe that part hasn't updated she's staying in education x

Thanks for replying , I’m worried now as mine is still saying nothing x

H1978 · 02/09/2021 07:23

Is her name still on your claim?

Smokeymirror · 02/09/2021 07:24

It just says I cannot access the system..

Smokeymirror · 02/09/2021 07:25

Sorry I mean when I go on my gateway account.

H1978 · 02/09/2021 07:25

Actually just checked mine and 16 year olds name is back in the claim. Thank you for whoever mentioned to add her again. I get paid on Tuesdays so will have to wait until then to see what happens.

2004bestyear · 02/09/2021 07:43

I still can't access the system either Angry

H1978 · 02/09/2021 07:46

I use the HMRC app and it’s on there if that helps.

Smokeymirror · 02/09/2021 07:48

Oh so not just me then? I’m down over 100 this week and stupidly assumed as I had done everything right my payments would continue. I’m hoping for more hours at work soon so I just feel like stopping the whole thing when that happens as it’s too stressful having to rely on them .

Smokeymirror · 02/09/2021 07:49

@H1978 is that the same as the government gateway? It just says i can’t access the system when I try to look. The other day it said it had been processed.

2004bestyear · 02/09/2021 08:16

Smokeymirror this is the screen I'm getting when I log into my government gateway accout

Tax credits
Smokeymirror · 02/09/2021 08:46

@2004bestyear yes I’m getting exactly that! What’s going on? It’s so frustrating isn’t it?

whatisthisinhere · 02/09/2021 10:42

I had to phone the helpline and they were very helpful. Apparently the system will be fully updated next week and there should be an extra payment.
I can't get online eithe, it's frustrating not knowing what's going on

Smokeymirror · 02/09/2021 10:54

Thanks for the update! I couldn’t get through. It’s a relief to hear there will be an extra payment too.

H1978 · 02/09/2021 11:28

You need your initial gateway details to sign up to the app but then you only need to set up either a pin code or Face ID. It’s much easier.

Has anyone's account updated yet? This is what is now showing on the HMRC app for me...

Mine has now updated , showing future payments but at a lowered amount . I'm hoping that the system regenerates and it goes back up to normal amount . My daughters name is now showing again on my account xx

No, mine is still saying can’t deal with me online.

2004bestyear · 02/09/2021 15:21

Aarrgghh..it is so frustrating not knowing what's happening! I've got my fingers crossed it will update with payments soon. I think if there is no change by tomorrow, I will call them.

TopBitchoftheWitches · 02/09/2021 15:25

They took dd 2 off the one who's started college today. I got £60 payment this morning. I updated both tc and cb ages ago. So annoying.
