Surveys – there are tons of websites, but the majority are for pennies. Do a google search for ‘paid surveys’, but beware of websites touting affiliate links. The only one I would recommend is:

Thanks @whysotriggered and @Buster27. I seem to recall people talking about the unpaid tests. I have a feeling this project will be the same. I'll see how it goes I suppose. I really do need a project though!

Hi *@peabrainer* - I have been on that project for nearly a year now and the tool for me and many other raters has been down and unavailable for months now sometimes when you're brand new to it, it can take a few weeks iirc to get the tool added to your profile and I think you receive an email confirming as much when they do but as it has been, I wouldn't get your hopes up too much.

Ah thank you so much for that. I won't hold my breath then. Weird that they are taking new people on when the tool isn't working. Thank you for your help

No worries @peabrainer - I did wonder if they had just got rid of a load of us who were coming to the end of our one year but I'm pretty sure they tend to e-mail to let you know, so it seems to be a glitch at the moment. Knowing them they seem to do everything back-to-front but who knows why they're recruiting for a project that doesn't even have a working tool.

Oh joy, the app survey invoices going missing problem has reared its head again for me. Maybe the ticket will get answered before the invoice deadline this time...

Fuming that I did two solid hours work peeling potatoes yesterday (managed to hit £10 an hour without shift uplift for the first time ever) and just as I logged off for the evening they put a surge on!

Well done for getting some good peeling done though @rhij86 isn't it exciting when that happens I got a fair chunk done yesterday and well over the minimum now.
Just submitted my July invoice too 💰
Not heard anymore from Pppl - I got the email to register but not the exam email. Ahh well. I'm very tired today as Master Montez decided to have a party in the early hours of this morning, so didn't get to bed until gone 3am probably not on form for exam taking right now!

I've been looking at jobs on there, and applied for one (been awhile so I can't quite remember). Now I've received an email to say I can begin work - but I don't think I ever signed up. So I'm stuck now what I'm supposed to do.
I've searched for bloody ages on the site, and I can't find the page to sign up. I can find the log in page, but not the sign up page....

@AnotherOne4 can you try putting your email address in to the login area and choose forgot password?

Tried that @AppleJane and it doesn't send me an email/password reminder, which makes me believe I never signed up.

I'm normally good with log ins, and write all my account info down (in a top secret place!) but I never wrote this one down. Which again, makes me believe I never signed up.....

On another note....all you Appen people who got the W*d**s email that never went anywhere. The job now exists in the projects page, so you can apply.

@Buster27 I passed y a couple of weeks ago. The test was quite tricky and I was surprised to get through. The work is the same as the test and I'm not enjoying it. I doubt I will keep up with the hours required and get kicked off. there seems to be plenty of work but I'm not hugely motivated to do it!

@rhij86 absolutely! I’ve been saying that I’ll just wait til she’s a bit bigger to get back into some work, but actually I think I’m best doing what I can now whilst she’s still a sleepy newborn! I managed to get a 90 minute file transcribed. 🥳

@bookgirl1982 well done for passing, it seems quite an intense process compared to other projects! That's disappointing you're not enjoying it though, I was hoping it would be a good one to make the exam process worthwhile!

Just an update- I got an email confirming I could start and did my first batch yesterday and it seemed to work. I did notice in the guidelines that it said the project would be for a year so maybe they have taken the access from you without bothering to email you

Hi I've missed a couple of months as had a really good Appen project that ended suddenly, they have said there might be some work coming end of August for a month but I won't hold my breath 😬.

I've also started the process for Y**n and would love to get on it fingers crossed. Potato for me has started well this month the content levels are better and I notice they have cut the numbers quite a lot. They seem reluctant to do surges and when they do they are only low but I keep plodding away. Last month was my lowest earning for potato ever and I really struggled to hit the minimum required amount but I'm determined to keep it going as both DC will be in school come September so hopefully more time to earn.

So glad that this thread is still going
