I am sad that my ad rating project has now had enough of me as it gave me 200 quid a month roughly for the past 9 months. That only leaves me with the news rating ones a few times a week. I also got the weird email and survey asking why I don't complete them when I do. I need a nice project for no more than hour a day which I can do on my phone now.

LoLo2020 · 30/08/2021 11:53

@Catatemyhomework

I got the email for for*er too. Clicked on the link to do the test and it just took me back to the Appen projects page. About 5 minutes later I got email saying I'd failed the exam! All very odd considering I didn't even take it! 🤔
It's bonkers isn't it! I did get through to the exam page and studied but thinks it's a 100% one. I feel totally inept! You can take it twice apparently
LoLo2020 · 30/08/2021 11:55

@Heyha

I think I did *@LoLo2020* but it seemed to reference Bangladeshi heritage or similar in my email which I don't have... I'll have a proper look tomorrow in case it's the usual App gobbledygook communication.
@Catatemyhomework so it is bi lingual which I'm not so I shouldn't have even taken the exam in the first place lol! Oops, good job I failed 🤣
EwDavid · 30/08/2021 12:08

Can I just ask if everyone using Appen and doing projects have full time jobs? I've just come across this and would like to do it but am a bit worried about the tax/legal side of things? If anyone could help it would be much appreciated!

I work FT and will need to complete a self assessment as you're an independent contractor by undertaking this additional work. I know there's a £1000 earning window which you wouldn't be liable to declare but I've surpassed that and then some with this work so will need to. I know it bumps up the NI contributions if you're already employed
Catatemyhomework · 30/08/2021 22:12

@LoLo2020, ah, I didn't realise it was bilingual. Probably a good job I didn't take the exam then. Honestly qualifying for an appen project is like trying to work our which direction the wind will blow in two weeks next Thursday! 🤔

Isn't it just, seems nigh on impossible to do at this rate. I am just hoping one comes along that we all qualify for :) Pretty sure the other Malta projects I took tests for
Won't be coming my way 😅

SomersetDreams · 31/08/2021 06:18

Just applied for AMUR...how much do people generally make a month o that one?

Is a lot of time wasted waiting in for parcels or exchanging etc?
How many hours a week realistically do people set aside?
Thanks.

RaininSummer · 31/08/2021 12:47

I don't make much money from amur but enjoy receiving random purchases. I usually spend an afternoon doing the purchases if there are less than 10 and then a bit of time. Doing the reviews. Its not a good hourly rate.

Buster27 · 31/08/2021 13:58

@SomersetDreams I've done 9 rounds and it's varied a lot. I'd say on average I return one or two things and earn in the region of £30-£100 from those, and I usually get something I (or often my husband) would like to keep.
I have had a couple of really good rounds where I've either gotten several good products I want to keep, or a couple of higher value items that I haven't wanted but have returned so earned more that round. But I also recently had a round where I only got 2 products I didn't want and weren't worth returning.

I find it fun and have been lucky most rounds so I find it worthwhile, but I wouldn't expect to make much from it. It's a nice bonus when you get a good round though!

What’s the invoice deadline for Appen this month please?

Elwyn · 31/08/2021 19:36

People who use Prolific, do you find that a pop-up appears saying there is a study with one place still available, then I click on it immediately and it turns out that all places have been filled? It will tell me that there were originally 800 places and I wonder how they got filled so quickly when I literally was there when the pop-up appeared. This happens to me multiple times a day. Is it because we have a slow broadband connection, perhaps? Does anyone else have this happen to them?

Chelbi · 31/08/2021 21:20

Hi All, I am going to share a link to bounce, it is a paid surveys site and unlike a lot of others I have joined before the surveys are really short. You won't become a millionaire but I have earned over €20 in PayPal and amazon vouchers in 3 weeks. Most of the surveys are less than 2/3minutes and on average you get 160 points, when you earn 1100 that's equivalent of £10 amazon credit.

Hi I notice this too, I think some of these are longitudinal studies for people who are undertaking a series of questionnaires (I did one last week that ran all week)

MiddlesexGirl · 01/09/2021 12:44

Just been totting up my earnings for August and I'm nearly there.
Grand total of £291.
Mostly Lionbridge (now called Telus) with £206.
Going to give Rev a go this month. I've done all the qualifications - just need to bite the bullet and take on a real one.

Rgy3250999 · 01/09/2021 13:42

@MiddlesexGirl Do you mind me asking what kind of work you do on Lionbridge? I’ve passed the qualification part but couldn’t really find tasks to do. It seemed a bit like the UHRS stuff on Clickworker, where the guidelines for tasks make no sense and it seems impossible to pass the training bit. I’d love to try again though if there is some decent work available. Thanks 😊

It's SME (aka ad rating).
When I first joined Lionbridge it was one of the projects offered. I applied, had to do a couple of English tests (maybe everyone does those) and then got put on a waiting list but luckily got onto the project itself about a month later.

Rgy3250999 · 01/09/2021 21:39

@MiddlesexGirl Sorry for all the questions but was this one of the tasks listed on the UHRS site? Just wondered if I was missing adverts for work somewhere. Once you got took on for this task, has it been ongoing work and have you needed to qualify for anything else or was it a case of just cracking on once you’d done your initial test? Would you say it’s difficult work?

I’ve tried to qualify for some of the work on the UHRS page but the instructions are so confusing and I’ve failed every single one so far 😂

MiddlesexGirl · 02/09/2021 18:26

No it wasn't on UHRS (isn't that with Clickworker?) I found that equally contrary and have given up with it for the time being.

It's been ongoing work and no further qualification needed. And it's easy. I did apply for a map evaluation one with them too and got turned down. No info on why.

rockinmum · 06/09/2021 14:05

Has anyone completed S**T on Appen? Just wondering if we have to record 3 phrases per recording or is it 1, the the 3 questions then the next one on the list of 100 scenarios?

Hi All, I an not going to lie and say you will earn €10 a day but I am trying to get a bit of cast together for Christmas. Here I am going to share a link to bounce, it is a paid surveys site and unlike a lot of others I have joined before the surveys are really short. You won't become a millionaire but I have earned over €30 in PayPal and amazon vouchers in 3 weeks. Most of the surveys are less than 2/3minutes and on average you get 160 points, when you earn 1100 that's equivalent of £10 amazon credit. There is a referral bonus running until 31st of September, everyone I get to join I get an additional 100 points, should you decide to join, you too will be able to refer. This week I bought my partner a wrench set from amazon with my latest £10 voucher, another Christmas present in the bag🙃🙃
