Surveys – there are tons of websites, but the majority are for pennies. Do a google search for ‘paid surveys’, but beware of websites touting affiliate links. The only one I would recommend is:

Hi I've missed a couple of months as had a really good Appen project that ended suddenly, they have said there might be some work coming end of August for a month but I won't hold my breath 😬.

I've also started the process for Y**n and would love to get on it fingers crossed. Potato for me has started well this month the content levels are better and I notice they have cut the numbers quite a lot. They seem reluctant to do surges and when they do they are only low but I keep plodding away. Last month was my lowest earning for potato ever and I really struggled to hit the minimum required amount but I'm determined to keep it going as both DC will be in school come September so hopefully more time to earn.

Welcome back! I've noticed Crisp has picked up a bit this month. Earned the same so far as I did in all of July.

Speaking of which, just had July's payment through from them (and Appen, a whole £27 ) so I've just booked brunch with Santa for the kids! So happy that even the small amounts I'm earning mean I can do things like this with them now.

Have been lucky enough to be asked to do the exam for Y*n Problem is I don't really have the time to do all the study and practice quizzes at the moment.
It says that I can reschedule the exam but does anyone know if I can then select a week when I can do it or if I will be just given a random date?
Would really love to get on this project but worried about rushing it and not standing a chance Thanks for any advice

@kneesknocking, I have rescheduled the Yu**n exam many times! Had to in July due to other work commitments. Done it again for August as on holiday. They keep letting me do it. You cannot reschedule beyond 14 days of the date you reschedule but when that time is up you can reschedule again. I've done it 3 times so far. Plan to do it when the kids go back to school in September.

Doing the Rev training and finding it a bit hard work, some of the guidance seems a bit "yeah but no but" like oh take the verbiage out, no not like that because reasons... Bless Og on App for some easy Friday night working!

@8dpwoah my best advice for Rev is if in doubt, leave it in. You’ll get a major error for omitting content, but it’s a minor error to fail to remove filler. Sometimes it’s such a grey area that it’s safer to just leave it.

Bloody ppl second part, failed it! Cannot see what I did wrong, it said no more work available after 9 questions so I assume that's me out. Also a weird invisible timer which put me off. Poo.

Yay! Just got started on project N**e which is really encouraging as I have more or less given up with Rev; my metrics were ok but then I submitted a project that got a 3/5 so now I have to find 5 assignments where I score highly and as I am still in my rookie minutes they need to be very short ones. The short ones are just not there or I have to sit and wait ages for one to appear only for it to either be dire or sniped before my very eyes lol. The pay rate and hassle just don't seem worth it tbh which is sad because the work itself is ok. I am progressing with WWW though and hope to get through all those qualification stages.

I too had an invite for the appen Wi*n*s project but it seemed to lead to a dead end but I will wait and see.

I am hugely grateful to this thread - thank you mumsnet!! I would have had no idea how to find this kind of work without it and I need the money for my vets bills!! Can anyone tell me anything about Appen Academy btw? I can't seem to find any info about what it is/how it relates to other stuff.

@TheresALight yeah I had to upload a consent form. Think I did it in txt. format or something. Took me about three hours to complete the job, turned into a real drag.

Oh god, I might not bother then. It doesn't sound great!

Thanks for the tip @swiftt I got my first one back with a grade 4 and was quite surprised just how high the standard is, I'm sure some of the things I got pulled up on were barely audible and subjective as to what was said but there we go! I don't think I'm going to be very good at this style which is a shame as the rate of pay is probably a bit better than basic WWW files because it's not reliant on how quickly I type!
I'll keep going though, maybe I'll get better!

I'll be doing my first proper Rev job tomorrow (assuming I can find a small enough file). Wish me luck as, like 8dpwoah I haven't always agreed with the end result as to what was said .... but then on one particularly nasty training script I couldn't hear parts of the audio at all . Still better to give it a go and fail than not to even try.
Still chugging along with Lionbridge (now Telus) which seems too good to be true in terms of earnings/effort ratio. No idea how long it will last and the pay is quite a long way behind the actual work done but I have received the first payment into PayPal now so it's all good while it lasts.

@MiddlesexGirl Do you mind me asking if this is a specific task you’re doing on LB or just their work in general? I had my application approved but couldn’t seem to work out how to complete work so gave up.

I had an e mail yesterday about a job from LB (Telus) but I cannot see where I login to apply. It seems to want me to create a new account but when I do it says this e mail already exists and there is no login button for existing accounts. I have e mailed them but not heard anything yet. Anyone else had this problem?

@Februarycat I’ve had similar problems. I’m not even sure I’ve got an count with them lol. The simplest things, like logging in, are a minefield!!

I’ve kinda given up with them. They certainly don’t make it easy

@AnotherOne4 Glad it's not only me, I spent ages yesterday trying to login and then requested a new password and never got the reset e mail through. Will see if they reply back to my e mail about it.
