I understand that if you are self employed you have to declare every penny made from prolific etc. If you work for someone else you don't have to become self employed until you earn £1000.

But I have a friend who is employed but gets UC. Does the £1000 apply to her or would she have to tell UC about prolific earnings? Don't want to give her bad advice!

didireallyjustsaythat · 03/08/2021 07:26

@dancingdolphinsagain

I am stupidly happy that I've got back on to Am** this month after not being picked for a while. Can't wait to see what shit I have to buy Grin
I feel exactly the same!! I was soooo excited when I saw the email this morning.
TheLolaMontez · 03/08/2021 07:52

Looks like no am' for me this month Sad

hi everyone, I joined Prolific a couple of weeks ago after seeing it on here, i can only do monday to friday as I use my work computer, I earned £50 in the first week, it was brilliant. However the second week I've not got anything, literally on £1, I have all my account up to day, I have it open all day and see a study as soon as it comes in, but as soon as it comes in and I click it's full, though now, they're just not coming through, is there a reason for this? thanks

AnotherOne4 · 03/08/2021 10:13

@2me2u2u2me nope, no reason for Prolific being like this. I think once you get over the 'newbie' phase, studies really die down. I was logged in all of yesterday, and not had a thing Sad

Tinging · 03/08/2021 10:20

I assumed prolific was so quiet because it’s the summer holidays and most of the studies are from universities or research institutes who work on the academic calendar?

2me2u2u2me · 03/08/2021 10:41

ahhh that actually might make sense.

@AnotherOne4 same for me, logged on all day and zilch!

dancingdolphinsagain · 03/08/2021 11:15

Can I pm someone about am** can't decide if I'm allowed to buy something!

YonderTweek · 03/08/2021 11:38

Feel free to PM me. Smile I'm not an expert but have done a couple of rounds.

I'm about to start my purchase mission. I have 8 products and I'm hoping they're not all skips!

lynsey91 · 03/08/2021 12:41

I have been on Prolific for at least 5 years and still do pretty well on it. I earned around £35 on it in July

whysotriggered · 03/08/2021 12:44

Got onto A this month after several months off and so far so crap, LOL! I have 9 purchases so hopefully will get at least one good item that I want!

rhij86 · 03/08/2021 13:06

Hi all, checking in for the month.

Managed to scrape about £150 between Appen and Crisp in July, super annoyed as I was out of action for the first two weeks, and just as I got back into the swing of things, my two Appen projects finished!

Just been on and noticed that my applications for a load of the long standing ones had dropped off due to age, so just applied for them all again Grin in the meantime it will be another long month peeling potatoes for me.

Christmas is coming, we've got a Centre Parks break booked for November, and DH has just revealed he's got a speeding fine/speed awareness course to pay for so that's another £90 I have to find from somewhere sigh

dancingdolphinsagain · 03/08/2021 13:10

@YonderTweek sent you a pm Smile

bookgirl1982 · 03/08/2021 13:15

Anyone doing Am** - when you are doing your reimbursements is the number of jobs at the top of the page going up? All seemed fine putting items through but it still says 0 for me.

TheHumanFund · 03/08/2021 13:18

My first two adverts are exactly the same item. It looks like a scam but there's no evidence of it so I've just spent £60 on cheap tat that probably won't arrive 😢😂

whysotriggered · 03/08/2021 13:28

@bookgirl1982 yes it should say the number submitted

I know some get confused, as there is a click button for sub ID which you press then right at the bottom is a submit and continue button which actually submits the reimbursement.

AnotherOne4 · 03/08/2021 13:34

@rhij86 you mentioned the 'C' word (Christmassssss!) It's not far away now is it. I'd love to get in a few good months to help pay for it all. But something always comes along to whip that extra money away doesn't it....for me it'll probably be car repairs Sad

I've not got alot going on at the minute. I failed the WWW qualification, just waiting to hear back from Rev.

Buster27 · 03/08/2021 13:38

I'm still stuck on item one as the seller hasn't even read my message yet. Going to be an anticlimax if the remaining five are skips/tat Grin

lilmishap · 03/08/2021 13:41

Crap month Figure 8 won't let me login claims I'm banned, can't work on Kn*x as I changed my number and 3 months later still no reply from support so s grand total of £13 from Appen.

rhij86 · 03/08/2021 13:44

@AnotherOne4 I know, it's a bit of a dirty word isn't it lol
I pay money to a savings club each month so will get vouchers/gift cards in November which will cover all the gifts (plus DS's birthday which is in December Hmm ) but it's all the extras I didn't consider when having children that I want to get covered - trips out, an audience with the Big Man in Red, activities etc... plus I'd like to be able to have a big chunk set aside for the food that is separate from my normal monthly food budget.

But as you said, any extra that trickles through always seems to get used up just as quickly by something unexpected.

Februarycat · 03/08/2021 14:12

Prolific always goes quiet during the Summer and Christmas period with the students not at University. It will start again in the Autumn, been on Prolific for a few years and always the same

dirtyfries · 03/08/2021 14:25

@bookgirl1982 mine's done the same. All submitted properly but the job count showing as 0. I've made a note of all the submission numbers and await the inevitable email about redoing them as it appears lots of us are having the same issue looking at the chat!

dirtyfries · 03/08/2021 14:27

and yes, to echo PP's this month's A*r is slim pickings! 9 items, 5 skips, 3 dubious chinese items, 1 £45 ted baker purse which I'll return.

Baby89 · 03/08/2021 14:32

Anyone help me on a amr purchase it says fund j*r only it takes me to a different page - do i mark it down as a scam thanks

whysotriggered · 03/08/2021 16:54

@bookgirl1982 @dirtyfries I think it might be an issue, six of mine went through but last two didn't. I only jotted down one of the submission IDs, am getting lazy!!!

I basically got complete rubbish, quite a few things from America, that I really don't want, none worth returning and none are decent enough to give as gifts. Oh well, you win some you lose some.
