Surveys – there are tons of websites, but the majority are for pennies. Do a google search for ‘paid surveys’, but beware of websites touting affiliate links. The only one I would recommend is:

The Appen project W link worked for me, so I filled it out. It was literally a apply for project button. It doesn't appear on my project list though, and I didn't get a confirmation email. As with everything with Appen, wait and see what happens.

Also my phone is broken so will cost money to fix, and I can't get onto Potato. Really annoying.

@TheSunisShiningToday hoping UserTesting works out over here too. I've not got as far as you so no insight i'm afraid, still waiting to hear back after submitting my test video - how long did it take for you to get approved?

@MrsWombat I'm on my third phone (and second laptop) since starting potato randomly broke two in freak accidents and it was a mad rush to buy a cheapish replacement

Also got the W* invite, the 'submit application' button also sends me back to my projects page with no sign of the project. Email sent. Got really excited and now deflated haha.

Need something other than potato in my life!

@furryous what did you buy? I’m in the market for a new laptop, mine is so slow and making loads of work more difficult.

Wrote this on the old thread which perhaps shows my attention to detail. I failed p**ple but can retake. I was so sure I had it all right! I had a lot of inappropriate links . Any tips very welcome!! I got 88pc last time so figure it's worth a go even though I can't understand what I did wrong!

I took it a week or two ago, but I wasn't given my score nor have I heard back from them. Very odd way to do things, but not surprising considering it's basically B@ne which was never well run.

@Redcrayons I can't find the exact model which is helpful! But its an acer 8gb ram, 512gb ssd hard drive. Can't remember the processor, its either 2.1 or 2.4ghz. It wasn't cheap though I got it in a black Friday deal in 2019 on a 0% credit card!

My old one was a refurb and just got so sluggish it was impossible to use, so I splashed out a little to try and ensure I didn't have the same problems soon after buying it. I love it, its still perfect.

I'm much more tight when it comes to frequently replacing phones

Yeah, I don't understand why they can't just send an email saying whether you've been successful or not. I'm glad they've changed it so at least people now know immediately what they've scored, but for those of us who don't we can't even retake it if we've failed.

I was invited to yet another qualification stage on Ppp*. I get the instructions but the platform is crap and it won't let me rate things in the right order, which means I have now completed the quiz incorrectly and probably not qualified. But I always think that if the qualification process is awkward then the whole project will be a pain in the ass, so probably not a great loss there.

I did get an email invitation to Wi*ne though. I think I have heard some K*x people talk about it but I don't really know what it is. Anyone on it?

@Kimblebee19 It’s a few weeks since I did it but I seem to remember that I got approved fairly quickly, probably just a day or two. Good luck. It’ll be interesting to know how you get on.

I reckon with p**ple you've passed if you didn't get the rejection page immediately after it! Well I might have another half hearted go, I think I'd probably get chucked off it quickly so not sure I can be bothered though.

I must have failed popp** the first time as just got an email giving me a chance to take the categorisation test again. Passed this time but assume there's yet another to come as I don't remember doing the ranking quiz.

How are you all managing to retake P*pple? If I go back in it just says all the tasks are completed. Got 86% first time but I think I messed up the ones relating to people as that scenario isn't covered in the instructions.

I'm guessing they email you. I just received an email to have another go....apparently I passed one part and failed one part.

You failed/passed the same as me. When you took it again, did you find out straight away that you passed?

@AnotherOne4 Yes, after I submitted the test the next page had the score at the top and it also showed me the questions I got wrong (and what the answer should have been).

@Buster27 I failed got 85% but needed 90% to pass. So close.....

It's a while back but I think I just registered with Lionbridge, did a couple of English evaluations, filled in a form saying which social media I used. Then got an email saying I'd passed but been put on a reserve list because no spaces at the time. Got called up a couple of months later. Has been surprisingly straightforward - especially when compared to Appen!

@AnotherOne4 Argh so close. Maybe they'll lower the threshold if not enough people pass!
