Thank you so much for your kindle publishing help! I’ll have a good look at all of those links as soon as I get time, I’m going to have to do lots of research I think. I’m not trained in powerpoint but I do have it on my laptop so I’ll learn how to use that. I’ve also got an apple pencil and ipad that I thought I might be able to use to create the front covers?
I’ve often said I’d like to create a recipe book but thought it wasn’t something I’d ever do. However, if I start small and as you say, start with something basic to learn the ropes maybe one day, who knows!
Firstly, I’m getting to grips with matched betting so once that is rolling and doesn’t need as much of my attention, I’ll then start looking at kindle stuff.
Can I ask, have you ever purchased a hard copy of your own work from Amazon to see what the quality etc is like? Maybe the first planner type thing I create I could make something that I actually want myself so I can buy it
Well done on your Redbubble sales! (Another thing for me to research)
Have you used Merch by Amazon? What sort of profit percentage is likely?[/quote]
Hi, yes I've bought bits for myself, getting a sale bumps it up Amazon's algorithm so it's generally a good idea. I do find it good quality. I've bought a Sudoku book I made for myself that constantly lives in my handbag. Last Christmas a notebook I made as a stocking filler for my teen was a good seller for me.
A colleague recently bought her son a book from Amazon to be delivered to work and showed it to us. I recognised it as a KDP item (when you know you know) and the print was very high quality. She couldn't believe it when I told her it had only been printed 24 hours early.
I started off with Merch, the profit from that is what I spent on the KDP. I'm currently on tier 100. I don't get many sales, and I'm slowly filling up my slots. I get more from KDP so that is where I'm focusing on.
You could probably start off with a recipe black notebook for someone to fill in with their own recipes?
