Morning all,

Thought I'd start a new thread for June as I couldn't see one that had been done yet. Ignore if I've cross posted!

I'll post the links for all the sites shortly, but for now here's a link to the last thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/legal_money_matters/4252763-2nd-Part-of-Mays-Earn-10-a-day-thread

All welcome, new and old alike - let's start the summer off with a bang and get earning those pennies! Hope everyone has a good month.

The below links/info shamelessly stolen from the April thread set up by @seizethwcuttlefish - feel free to add any more links that are relevant as these are a few months old now.

This thread is for people looking to earn £10 a day through various bits and pieces. The thread has been running a while so there are lots of old threads to look through. A few links below for you to sign up to.

Some useful links

Thanks for the new thread!

May was great for me. Total around £1620. Just short of £1000 from Rev, £500 from App (pending invoice approval!), £60 from Prolific then another £60 or so from CW and Intellizoom.

Shame the exchange rate for USD is so crap at the moment or my Rev would have equated to a bit more.

AnotherOne4 · 01/06/2021 12:08

Thanks for the new thread Smile How can it possibly be June?!

I’ll work my earnings out later. Have to say after months of chipping away at this, I’m finally getting some decent work.
My advice for newbies would be - it’s a slow starter, but once that ‘magic’ project comes along, it’s fantastic!
Stick with it and you shall be rewarded.

AnotherOne4 · 01/06/2021 12:12

@swiftt that is a fantastic total. Well done! Seems like you’ve really mastered Rev.

@swiftt that's incredible! Well done!
@AnotherOne4 I totally agree that it can be very slow to get started, but once you find that sweet spot...!

@seizethecuttlefish - you mentioned in the last thread you'd switched from some of your previous big earners to new things - do you mind me asking what you've moved on to? Finding Ap and Crp a hard slog at the moment, so always on the lookout for new ideas.

Thanks for the new thread.

@rhij86 I have started transcription with Rev, completed a minute taking course and looking at book keeping. Looking at widening my remit into business support. My youngest goes to nursery ft in August so I'm hoping to ramp up then. I hate the looking for business bit but at least it's mine to own lol.

Well done @swiftt, you're my rev-spiration! Fantastic.

Frenchdoors1 · 01/06/2021 12:58

Thanks for the new thread @rhij86.
Can't believe it's June!
Not sure what I made exactly on SD as I was uncertain with my timer and theirs and many others are in the same position. So no point posting until its rejected and I have to alter it.

LittleTwiglet · 01/06/2021 13:03

Hi, I am a complete beginner at this, but in need of extra income, like many. I have a just turned 2 year old and a 5 month old (but 2 month corrected age), so difficult to find time, but my question is,

How would I get started? What things should I do first? Sorry to sound silly, but I've never done anything like this before and could use some guidance.

rhij86 · 01/06/2021 13:04

I did the 'quiz' at the beginning of Riv... link 1 today and failed :( link 2 says there's no work.
Submitted another ticket for SD logins and received a reply saying they've taken on over 2000 new raters so to be patient. Can't help feeling the work will be done by the time I get my logins, on the other hand they surely wouldn't take on that many if they expect it to finish any day now?

@seizethecuttlefish - is rev transcription work much like the Ap transcription tasks? I've qualified for a few of those in the past but never been able to convince myself to do them.

Thanks for the new thread @rhij86.

My Ap*en invoice hasn't updated yet but am hoping for around £500 on that. I only earned £60 on potato due it's low content.

I didn't have a single prolific survey, not sure what's going on there.

Best of luck for June everyone.

rhij86 · 01/06/2021 13:05

PS good luck with the starting of the new business!

@LittleTwiglet welcome, and congratulations on the latest arrival!

I would say start off by looking through the links in my second post and seeing what takes your fancy. There are lots of easier/quicker earners like surveys and market research, but the money is not as much, and not guaranteed.
With things like appen and lionbridge, there are more longer term tasks, but you're usually expected to put a minimum number of hours in.

Thank you rhij86, I'm not sure how to do the reply on here so had to quote haha.

In terms of the surveys and things, do they usually just want an email address? I'm guessing may be best to set up an email just for these?
I sometimes have 4-6 hours on a Saturday, but I guess that's probably still not enough time to get much done.

Im out of ideas as to what else I can do to bring in some income, especially with two small ones at home full time.

rhij86 · 01/06/2021 13:23

@LittleTwiglet 4-6 hours would be enough for some things! Definitely have a look at Appen, Lionbridge and Crisp Thinking and see if any of those take your fancy.

Might be worth using a new email address for all this stuff so your main one doesn't get clogged up!

Norked · 01/06/2021 13:47

@swiftt That's amazing! How many hours on average a week do you spend on Rev?

AnotherOne4 · 01/06/2021 14:43

Lol @Frenchdoors1 I’m half expecting mine to be rejected too. I will certainly celebrate if it gets signed off Grin

swiftt · 01/06/2021 14:50

So lovely to see some great totals for May! Well done everyone. Long may SD last! 😂 having something steady like that makes such a big difference. Sending invoice approval dust to all!

@Norked just worked out average for May was about 15 hours a week! I’m really selective and only choose high paying files that I can complete without having to hammer hours and hours into.

Frenchdoors1 · 01/06/2021 15:37

@swiftt Well done, you've done well on there.
I've got the dust too lol Wink

@AnotherOne4 Well, I am up and down with all this palava I'll tell you haha. According to the TRT on metrics and my invoiced time I may be 2 hrs under, but saying that, the first evening that I started I did 1 and a half hrs and that date hasn't been on the invoice for a while now and did put it on after I had finished. So I don't know, they don't tell you all the ins and outs that we need to know do they.

Frenchdoors1 · 01/06/2021 15:42

The only reason that I am saying this is because someone posted on the chat that they will not add the extra hrs if you've done any it's for us to get right Hmm

MrsWombat · 01/06/2021 16:01

Got 100% on the SD quiz. HaloHaloHalo

YonderTweek · 01/06/2021 16:07

Well done everyone! Some impressive totals here again. Smile I haven't received my hours from my other project, but I'm expecting to invoice for around £1k as well. I'm really pleased because I can't remember the last time I have made over a grand. (Unless of course my invoice gets rejected...)

I really need extra money at the moment because we are still looking to buy a new house and everything is really expensive! Haha. I hope June is this good. Grin

MrsWombat · 01/06/2021 16:14

The invoicing for SRT projects is always a pain. The best thing to do is stick with the RPH. If you've done 10 (for SD) then make sure it's taken you 10 mins and slow down if needed. (I think this is why the chat room is so busy!) Some items will take you quicker, and some longer but will hopefully balance out. Toggl is fab for keeping track of time and you can manually adjust the numbers too.

Frenchdoors1 · 01/06/2021 17:36

@MrsWombat Yes, this is true what you say.
The thing i don't get is that they'll reject your invoice if it's too high, well if it's too high, then they know how much we have done?

Buster27 · 01/06/2021 18:03

Jealous of the SD'ers, sounds like a profitable one! It's never appeared on my list sadly!

Just over £500 for me, day job was very busy sorting out some loose ends so I only really managed my long term app project (which hasn't been working for about 10 days now for me Sad), a couple of am** returns, some transcription work (which typically looks to be low on data now I have spare time again) and a little on Crisp.

My day job was only a temporary contract which finished yesterday (hence why it was busier this month!), so after many fantasies about jacking in my office job to do this full time I've decided to do it - well for the summer anyway Grin we were having some childcare issues for the summer holidays so it solves them too. Hoping to make around 1k a month while I'm not working.
