Hi all, happy May. Welcome to this months thread. I'll load up the link later. If anyone else wants to do it, feel free, I'm rubbish at it.

The idea of this thread is to earn a bit of extra cash, as the title suggest. Have a look and these threads go back a while and might give you some ideas.

Newbies welcome. We're a lovely, helpful lot.

I don't understand how an odd one gets through either.
Or have some of you already been chanting...

AnotherOne4 · 16/05/2021 19:23
@AnotherOne4 haha, isn't it nice when you're just checking and one pops on Grin
I just got a run of 12. It was quite exciting. I'm billing 10 minutes for it Smile

Catatemyhomework · 16/05/2021 19:29

The problem is though in that scenario I never know how many minutes to log. On Friday, I did 4 and my time on SRT was 25 minutes. But then my Rph came out as 11. They're not going to pay me 25 minutes for 11. So I'm thinking maybe 16 minutes which is about 40 something rph I think which ids reasonably acceptable when work is dribbling in. I don't know though.

What is the calculation for RPH is you've only worked minutes?
Frenchdoors1 · 16/05/2021 19:37

@AnotherOne4 Wow, that's good

Frenchdoors1 · 16/05/2021 19:41

@Catatemyhomework Mine are all over the place too.
It just doesn't make sense. Plus I've just had one and it took me 2 minutes.

Catatemyhomework · 16/05/2021 20:06

@AnotherOne4, don't know if I've done it right, but as 30 is the minimum rph and they will not pay for any invoiced time below this, I go for 40 as my minimum when I'm calculating tome for adhoc ones so for example I had an rph of 11 which wouldn't be paid at 25 minutes, so I know 40 goes into 60 1.5 times so I multiply the quantity I have done by 1.5, so 4 x 1.5 is 6 minutes to invoice. Obviously when work is consistent my rph is not less than 50. 😂

Catatemyhomework · 16/05/2021 20:07

@Frenchdoors1, I know. I'm much happier doing 60 an hour. 😂

Catatemyhomework · 16/05/2021 20:10

Sorry, just read that back and it looks like a load of gobbledegook. So SRT calculated my rph at 11 when I had done 4 in 25 mins. I multiply 4 by 1.5 so I don't get an rph of less than 40. This gives me 6 minutes to invoice for. Hope this makes sense.

AnotherOne4 · 16/05/2021 20:13

Say what?! Confused lol So are you saying they won’t pay me for my 10 minutes today Sad
I just tried to look at my user metrics but it’s not updating.
So really, until the work is consistent, it’s not worth faffing about doing the odd one or two.

Catatemyhomework · 16/05/2021 20:19

@AnotherOne4, if you do them in dribs and drabs and if your rph is less than 30 you will not be paid for that invoiced time, so you can't put any time down on your invoice that would take you below the minimum rph or you won't get paid for it. In the scenario of 4 every half hour, I would invoice time as if you're working at 40rph to be safe.

But what if you were sticking to doing one per minute? Surely that leaves your RPH at 60? As you don’t invoice the time you are waiting for work.

I’ve logged off now, but I will check my metrics tomorrow and see what they say.

LoLo2020 · 16/05/2021 21:32

So will they reject only the day if the RPH isn't met? As opposed to the whole invoice even if you've met it across other days. Assuming so :) I've deleted the sporadic minutes I've done over past few days just to keep things simple and my SRT sort of on track!

LoLo2020 · 16/05/2021 21:33

Metrics I mean :)

Catatemyhomework · 16/05/2021 22:08

@AnotherOne4, well yes. 1 a minute is absolutely fine, spot on in fact. I'm just remarking about when I did 4 or 5 sporadic ones in a row and for some reason SRT recorded it as half an hours work. My point was that I couldn't have invoiced for it as I would have been below 30 rph.
@LoLo2020, I believe it would just be for that day if the average isn't met for that day. It says in guidelines that they will not pay for anytime your rph drops below 30.Your overall average has to be at least 48 to qualify for the bonus work as it has to be at least 80% of 60.

AnotherOne4 · 16/05/2021 22:14

@Catatemyhomework ahh ok, got ya. I’ll look at my Metrics tomorrow and see what it says.

How much easier would this all be if the SRT/metrics stuff was recording accurately and auto invoiced.

Catatemyhomework · 16/05/2021 22:21

@AnotherOne4, indeed. I am invoicing the metrics when it's less time than I record myself and my time when the metrics is more time than I record. Basically just don't want my invoice to be rejected as it would be a faff. It's probably not a significant loss for each day but I guess it mounts up across the month.

swiftt · 17/05/2021 14:03

Any work on Suth yet anyone? I haven’t had an email, and haven’t had a chance to log on to check the chat over the weekend - been a manic one of baby showers and hospital trips!

Frenchdoors1 · 17/05/2021 14:32

@swiftt I logged on this morning and there wasn't anything.
I've just been shopping and logged on again and zilch Confused

AnotherOne4 · 17/05/2021 14:39

Appen could reach out and keep us updated couldn’t they. We don’t know if we’re waiting a day, a week or if it’s gone forever Sad

Frenchdoors1 · 17/05/2021 15:09

@AnotherOne4 I know, it can't be that difficult to let us know Confused

kneesknocking · 17/05/2021 15:45

So frustrated with S**land that in desperation spent ages today trying to get back into LB Finally, don't know how, but managed to stumble upon the MPlace I was so excited, until I tried to qualify for some of the jobs! Well that was more tricky than I expected, took a few tests but I just didn't agree with their answers which means it's difficult to improve my score Hmm Anyone else found the same?

tallyhoah · 17/05/2021 16:19

I stumbled across this thread after a Google search and I'd love to get started! What is the best for a newbie, do you recommend? Also, why are many of the names you talk about starred out? I'd love to join in but can't figure out what companies your talking about!

mrsrobin · 17/05/2021 16:21

Could someone please tell me - is L-Bridge similar to Appen? And if so, I have seen comments re working on them both on here - is there some connection? Or can you register for both? I have not had much work come my way on Appen so thinking of joining L-Bridge. Which do you all prefer? How do they compare? I know we can't discuss the ins and outs, but your basic thoughts? Thanks v much.

tallyhoah!!! Love the name Grin @tallyhoah Welcome to the thread. I would strongly suggest going back and reading some of the threads from previous months. Just read and get familiar with the names and terms. Everyone likes different things. What is is you think you'll be good at? If you want to dip your toes in, I'd suggest Prolific and QMEE to start. A few of us have been waiting agggessss for a long term job on Appen. We finally got one, and they pulled it this week Sad Alot of jobs are just for pennies too. But pennies turn into pounds if you chip away at it. We star * some of the names due to privacy/confidential reasons.
