Tax credit - anyone got a date for the £500 payment yet?

I see a lot of tax credit recipients will be getting a £500 lump sum rather than the £20 a week - but has anyone had it yet or had a date for it? I get a small amount of tax credits and can't figure out if I'm eligible for the £500

If it's in but I'm no longer eligible for WTC from
This month, will I have to repay it?
I was eligible on 2nd March?

MyDcAreMarvel · 16/04/2021 09:49

No @theshadeofgreen you won’t need to pay it back.

Almani · 16/04/2021 10:17

No letter or text but I just checked my TSB app and it’s in.

JamesMiddletonsMarshmallows · 16/04/2021 10:25

Is anyone else's app showing as no payments due??

NW here and nothing. I did get a text

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 16/04/2021 11:01

I keep hoping I might get it but I'm thinking it's pretty unlikely! Would come in very handy after losing 2 months of HB and then a month of TCs.
We were technically on tax credits on 2nd March but 5th March we applied for universal credit due to a housing benefit mess up. We were getting CTC and both of us work (husband 38hrs and me 21hrs). We never recieved a £20 a week uplift, if anything our tax credits were lower this last year!! So I think we were eligible....

Hayleyalana · 16/04/2021 11:10

Contacted Web chat tax credits an they said I will be getting it.
I bank with barclays and I'm a single parent who gets working and Chile tax the money is not in at the moment

pheonixrebirth · 16/04/2021 11:41

Just checked my bank and it is showing as pending for Monday!

Isaidnope · 16/04/2021 12:03

I keep hoping it will go in at a random point during the day after reading others say theirs did on a separate thread. I honestly thought it would be in when I woke up so I feel disappointed.

Yes
nevernotstruggling · 16/04/2021 12:05

Nothing here still though my Halifax app seems to be updating very slowly

CocoLady · 16/04/2021 12:06

Would I qualify if part time working but getting UC top as single parent ? Came of WTC and CTC last year then they switched to UC
Thanks XX

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 16/04/2021 12:09

You cant get this if on UC

EvilOnion · 16/04/2021 12:14

@CocoLady the one off payment is only for those on the old Tax Credits system.

Universal Credits claimants will continue to get £20 additional top up each week until September I think.

onthinice · 16/04/2021 12:25

Mine is pending for Monday 🎉

midnightstar66 · 16/04/2021 12:56

Mine went in today, I was hopeful but worried because I'd never received a text. Those that haven't got it though I think this is just the first day for payments, they gave the 23rd as the date it will be paid by. I assume they can't pay everyone at once for whatever reason.

pinkroseapp · 16/04/2021 13:25

@JamesMiddletonsMarshmallows

Mine says no payment due from 2 weeks ago. I had the £500 today, I guess this replaced my usual £40 every 4 weeks. They have paid whole year’s amount in one go.🤔
MyDcAreMarvel · 16/04/2021 13:29

@pinkroseapp you haven’t been paid the full year at once. If it weren’t for the Covid-19 payments of up to £20 a week you would have had a nil award for wtc. Now the up to £20 a week payments have ended you have been paid the fixed £500 one of payment.

pinkroseapp · 16/04/2021 13:54

I don’t getting WTC as income is high, my CTC usually £40 every weeks. Now is down to 0.

MyDcAreMarvel · 16/04/2021 14:00

Yes that’s what I meant @pinkroseapp you only received the Covid -19 payments. But the £500 is not a years worth of payments it’s the maximum 6 month of Covid -19payments.

Cece92 · 16/04/2021 14:46

A lady on one of the Facebook pages said she just spoke to HMRC and they said that anyone who didn't get payments today will get at some point next week 🤷🏻‍♀️

Dancetherain · 16/04/2021 14:48

I'm confused! I have heard of this one off payment but ignored it as we are not on WTC only CTC. I've just checked my account and found I've been paid C19 one off payment. Surely that's not right? My ctc payments have been the same all year and we haven't been financially affected by covid as we have both worked all the way through (dp full time and me 16 hrs). Does anyone think this is right or has there been a mistake?

Ashtonsmum · 16/04/2021 14:49

Hiya! Do you usually get your payment on a Friday too?

Cece92 · 16/04/2021 15:05

@ashtonsmum I usually get my weekly payment in a Thursday. I get my child benefit every Saturday. I think the bank is also a factor it seems some people got the payment issued Wednesday so some banks are quicker at processing than others. I got my text like 3 weeks ago but I haven't received any payment. I got my CTC payment as normal yesterday my WTC and covid £20 extra p/W was stopped last week. X

NatashaAlianovaRomanova · 16/04/2021 15:06

I got mine today, usual TC day is a Thursday.
