Tax credit - anyone got a date for the £500 payment yet?

I see a lot of tax credit recipients will be getting a £500 lump sum rather than the £20 a week - but has anyone had it yet or had a date for it? I get a small amount of tax credits and can't figure out if I'm eligible for the £500

Ive just spoken to nationwide and my tax credits are due tomorrow but they couldnt see any pending payments.

But i did receive the text on the 1st of April. Ill be like a hawk checking my bank tonight/ after midnight 😂

I haven't received anything I'm with barclays so can't see pending transactions I received my regular payment on Wednesday.

I wish i could see pending payments 🙉 they told me mine was issued yesterday so im hoping its tomorrow

How do you know if you are eligible for wtc but dont get it as you earn too much. I only receive ctc....thanks.

I’ll never forget when they paid me my whole year entitlement in one go! I waited til the next week thinking my regular payments may not go in but they did, was so painful ringing them to pay them back!!! Was ok til a year later they hit me with an overpayment for the exact amount! Fighting that was tough!

@Iluvfriends if either you or your partner work more than 16 hours a week then you are eligible for WTC AFAIK.

Thank you that sounds promising.

I have just been on HMRC live chat overall (30mins) was number 27 waiting... so spoke to chris who confirmed i am eligible for the £500 and payments have been issued 12th april, so i will get it by 23rd april... couldnt give me an exact date ☹️ I usually get my TC on a tuesday.

I have just spoken to HMRC online chat and they are stating they can not say when the payment will be made. So annoying!

Although they did confirm that all payments where issued yesterday by BACS so can't see why they wouldn't hit accounts tomorrow?

That sounds promising then! That money would be very handy if it hits account tomorrow

Me... new cooker arrives on the 26th so mine will go straight to credit card when it comes in

So i thought i would go on live chat as others on here did, to be told i'm not eligible as i dont work......erm yes i do. I had to go through a change of work from 2 years ago......something i had already done at the time but they have no record of

Haha yes, I have already spent mine mentally too. Partially going on debts, I also have one final instalment for my DS’s school trip and a day out for DD’s birthday.

I've already spent, straight into dd account for college (higher ed)
Her applications cost £650 alone.

Hey I’m so glad I found this thread I don’t know anyone else on tax credits still lol! I got a text about 3 weeks ago about the payment but haven’t received anything yet! It’s good to see some pending payments for you all tomorrow :) I’m with Barclays so can’t see any.
