Welcome to the Feb thread.

Newbies welcome. We're all here for the same thing, get together and earn some extra cash. Aim for £10/day but every little (or lots) is good.

@Gatekeeper oh dear. You never know what Appen is doing these days really

Gatekeeper · 05/02/2021 17:40

it's like an alternative universe!!!

Buster27 · 05/02/2021 18:37

3 out of 5 Am** purchases arrived today. Love my hoodie, handbag is fine (actually better than expected) and lunchbox is a lunchbox lol, sure it will get used for the kids.

ruralwanderer · 05/02/2021 19:22

Great stuff @Buster27! Only one of mine's arrived so far - the 0% alcohol spirit - and my hubby's looking forward to trying it Grin Hoping the rest will be ok!

Dancingdolphins · 05/02/2021 19:36

My duvet cover arrived and it's lovely, the 0% spirit did too. Will try it later but my husband tried it and said with some gin in it would be nice Grin

unicornpoopoop · 05/02/2021 20:35

With Amur, are we meant to do anything with the submission ID we now get?

tinyradish · 05/02/2021 21:51

Got 3 of my purchases today - one top that's to be returned, the non alcoholic spirit (smells amazing but such a small bottle!) & a night cream that will get used.

No idea about submission IDs - have kept a note of them incase.

Buster27 · 06/02/2021 11:36

App invoice finally approved and January am** bonus all there, I've already returned three of them so waiting on £160 of returns too Smile

Rad2016 · 06/02/2021 12:46

Same here. Already returned 4, should be getting some good money back. Reason I prefer UK shops to those Chinese ones. I am still waiting a Ted Baker handbag from November shopping. No reply to emails, I'll call my credit card hopefully I can get my money back

MyopiaUtopia · 06/02/2021 15:02

Potato people - In Jan I only moderated about 900 items due to family bereavement and I know the min is 1000. I've consistently done well over 1000 items a month since I've been with Crisp for over a year... will I still get kicked out?? has anyone else had this issue, and what was the outcome?

MrsWombat · 06/02/2021 15:23

@fridgepants

Does anyone here do MTurk? I signed up to it years ago but got really into it over the past couple of years - payments are to your Amazon.com giftcard balance, which worked for me because I was travelling to the US and used it to buy things when I was there (you can also use it to order stuff to be posted to the UK, but shipping and customs take a chunk) but I think now there's an option to be paid in actual money.

Mostly I got into it because it felt a lot more productive when I felt a bit anxious than arguing with people on Twitter Grin. Hoping we do get to travel this year so I can spend the results of dealing with anxiety productively Grin

I had an account when they first started it, but I don't think I did much. I had a look at my account the other day because a few people on Reddit have been making decent pocket money. My account has been suspended. Hopefully because I've not used it for over 10 years Smile and not because I've done anything dodgy. I've asked them to reinstate the account.

I would contact them and explain lovely. Sorry to hear about the bereavement Thanks
Tattiespuds · 06/02/2021 17:25

Thanks for the new thread.... Someone explain how did we get to Feb already?

January was a pants month, potato quite slow and didn't pick much up anywhere else, as per.

Is there any potatoers using a Chromebook? My laptop is on its last legs so Going to get a fairly basic Chromebook just for potato bit not sure if it will work on a Chromebook

WhatsitWiggle · 06/02/2021 17:52

Just did my A**r purchases and wish I hadn't bothered.
7 on the list
1 404 error
1 wouldn't check out
1 gambling site
A clay decoration (looks like lots of us got this)
A hat with a ponytail hole (ditto)
Lambswool (allegedly) coat from China - after past experience I have ordered 2 sizes larger than usual
A very well known Chinese clothing company that DD buys from so ordered a cardigan I think she'll like

I don't think any of that can be returned, although I'll try to reclaim through paypal for the coat as you can get your postage back up to £15. I did that with one of my December purchases and just got my money back (£35).

It's really not worthwhile unless you can return some items or get stuff you actually want. I did really well in December but the other months have been pants.

bettyshotspot · 06/02/2021 18:28

@MyopiaUtopia sorry for your loss, just email them and they'll be fine, my friend was ill one month and didn't make the 1000 and they were fine Flowers

ruralwanderer · 06/02/2021 19:40

@tattiespuds, I use a Chromebook and it works fine 👍

Osquito · 06/02/2021 19:59

@Tattiespuds I was wondering exact same thing, really need to buy a new one too. Good to hear @ruralwanderer uses one.

You’ll be fine @MyopiaUtopia. I didn’t manage 1000 once. I was fine and they didn’t mention anything. I think as long as as you’re consistent, you’ll be fine. (I didn’t email them, but if you’re worried, drop the team a line.)
0htooooodles · 06/02/2021 21:00

@Tattiespuds I also use a chromebook, never had any issues Smile

MyopiaUtopia · 06/02/2021 21:38

Thanks to the people who replied about my 1000 crisp issue, I feel reassured now!

Tattiespuds · 06/02/2021 22:27

@ruralwanderer & @0htooooodles thanks for the info.

MrsWombat · 07/02/2021 08:18

I normally use my windows laptop for Crisp. However, my chromebook has a touch screen. I keep meaning to test that out and see if it works quicker than the mouse/keyboard.Grin It's all chrome web browser based anyway so definitely works.

The Appen browser based projects definitely work on the Chromebook, if anyone is interested in one because of that.

TheLolaMontez · 07/02/2021 11:15

managed to do a couple of potato shifts this morning, so that has helped me catch up a little. Was coming through lovely this morning but gone a little quiet again now.

I'm starting to feel a bit uneasy about Ap' I wonder what is going on there, obviously something is amiss. Ive had a few emails from them saying I'm now blocked from accessing things that I have applied for but they don't really give any details as to why. Presumably because they have filled the positions, however the way it's worded makes you think you've done something wrong, which I couldn't have done as I hadn't even started working on the project... weird.

TheLolaMontez · 07/02/2021 12:02

They've paid me wrong too for Am' (too little) - raised a ticket, I don't expect a response Hmm

littlegem84 · 07/02/2021 12:23

Hello! Registered on lots of sites in Aug after seeing this set of threads - thank you, it's been a bit of a lifeline!

Was wondering if anyone else is currently getting any work through Neevo? Mine seems to have totally dried up and wasn't sure if it was generally quiet or I I am being screened out of stuff?
