I’m drowning in debt

I have been for years. Or rather, I’ve been avoiding it all for years. I don’t even know anymore what I owe and to whom. I’ve tried step change, they can’t help unless I can tell them this info. I heard I could find this info by using Experian but whatever I do, they can’t seem to verify me. I’m lost. I’m stuck. I can’t face any of it anymore. I don’t know what to do or where to turn.

How are you doing now OP?

Thanks for checking in @heidei

Still feeling awful, I have forced myself to call the council because I’m behind on council tax, I don’t have anything in place yet, but it still feels like a big deal. I’ve also reached out and contacted Christians against poverty, I’ve had a quick chat with the lady who’s been given my file, and I have my first telephone appointment with her next Friday, I’m not sure if they are the right people for me but I haven’t gotten my head round it all yet, I told her some information that I haven’t been able to say out loud or admit to anybody else and although I’ve been in tears and still not sleeping, I know it was huge to finally admit some of the things that I have,

I so wish someone could just take it all off my hands and sort it all for me, I’m finding it so hard to get my head around. I’ve got to the stage where I’m considering hiring a private investigator hoping they can find the info I need 😳🤦🏻‍♀️

Well done op. I know it still feels like you have a long road ahead you have already jumped the first hurdle and reached out to the council and the christian charity for help. Slow and steady you will get this sorted.

You've taken the hardest step by contacting them. There's loads of tips and advice on moneysavingexpert.
