I’m getting quite tempted by this buying stuff project, seeing some of the stuff. I’m assuming you get reimbursed for the stuff and can keep it or send it back?

bookgirl1982 · 19/01/2021 17:27

Yes that's right @Redcrayons

tinyradish · 19/01/2021 20:55

I'm so intrigued as to what this disgusting chocolate is Grin

Did the availability survey for A*. Would quite enjoy doing that again & seeing what delights I wnd up with.

ElectricEels · 19/01/2021 22:35

The chocolate isn't Doisy and Dam is it? I treated myself to some of that and it was all horrible.

Baby89 · 19/01/2021 23:35

Thabk you @whysotriggered. Have the silly cough which is becoming so annoying myself and anyone who has covid make a speedy recovery x

Baby89 · 19/01/2021 23:42
  • pray myself and anyone who has covid make a speedy recovery, (sorry folks typo error)
redgirl1 · 20/01/2021 07:35

@Wolfff. Normally I would but I’m starting work before homeschool and working again after sometimes until nearly 10pm. I’m doing the ap&en while watching TV before bed. Is just too much at the mo. And no content at 6am either. I think I’m try and get some done this weekend and then contact them to see what they say.

DeegeeDee · 20/01/2021 08:37

Morning all, query on the "collection of trees" project on Ap*. Has anyone done the previous version, is it a long term project? Wanting to calculate whether doing the 2nd quiz is worth my time as it is paying 0.049 per task.

Zannado · 20/01/2021 08:45

Newbie here. Thank you for this, my shop is non essential so currently closed I need to earn a few extra pennies.

singsingbluesilver · 20/01/2021 09:09

I just did a language test for one of the App** projects - and failed with a score of less than 20% This is very strange - I know that my answers were correct. I am finding their platform very frustrating and I think I am going to give up on using it.

I have had much more luck with one of the other sites though :)

Catatemyhomework · 20/01/2021 10:57

I applied for Fo***r on Appen. Didn't even get to take the test. Just immediate email telling me they are unable to move forward with my qualification. That's the second time I've applied for an appen project in the last week and not got to do the assessment 😢

YonderTweek · 20/01/2021 10:58

Grr. I just did the qualification test for F&&&&&&& and failed. Blush I know I can retake it but it takes ages. Haha. I'm usually of the opinion that if the qualification exam is a pain the whole project is going to be frustrating but I'm pretty desperate now, so will have to try again later. Yay...

singsingbluesilver · 20/01/2021 11:19

That's the test I just failed. I know or certain I could not have scored less than 20% on it. So frustrating, and such a waste of time.

TheLolaMontez · 20/01/2021 12:26

I had the same - applied and for a rejection email straightaway. Never mind, there will be more projects no doubt

superpinkgirl · 20/01/2021 13:16

I've just taken the F***r test twice and failed them both. So very annoying!

RidiculousRagdoll · 20/01/2021 15:03

I'm qualified to work on Fr, but whenever I try to an error message always comes up and I can't get any further. It's been the same for ages and seems to be a problem for others too. 🤔

anxiouswaiting · 20/01/2021 16:08

@seizethecuttlefish @YonderTweek I got that chocolate too, I must be a weirdo because I quite like it!

Crowsandshivers · 20/01/2021 16:41

Does anyone know the rules about multiple projects on a*en? I'm on n*e and I'm worried to do anything else in case I get kicked off (I remember reading someone got kicked off one before). Thanks.

Azerothi · 20/01/2021 17:29

@Crowsandshivers I have been doing more than one project for nearly a year. Sometimes, like now, more than 3. No-one has ever hinted that it is wrong and I have never seen it in any guidelines.

GailLondon · 20/01/2021 17:40

@Crowsandshivers you can be on many appen projects at the same time, I’m on about 5. It’s very rare that there’s a restriction and if so it would be flagged when you apply.
The issue is if you are also doing the equivalent project to N**e over on Lionbridge or another competitor company, then it can be a problem

Crowsandshivers · 20/01/2021 18:12

Thanks both. I think I remember reading on one of these threads about not being able to do two of a specific sort but it was a while ago and I've re-read guidelines and can't see anything.

Mancbee · 20/01/2021 18:35

Can anyone help me out with the job description for tax returns please? I mostly work on A**en but I tend to do whatever comes up really so I'm not sure 🤔

ruralwanderer · 20/01/2021 18:56

@mancbee, can you get away with "freelancer"?

Mancbee · 20/01/2021 19:19

Thanks @ruralwanderer I've gone with freelancer. I think that covers it but I wasn't sure if there was a specific title for this type of work 🤷🏼‍♀️

ruralwanderer · 20/01/2021 19:44

I think people have used "Search Engine Management" or "Social Media Moderation" before if they're only doing one particular project or working for one particular company, but if you're dipping into a bit of everything, Freelancer is probably about as specific as you need to get (caveat, I haven't completed a self assessment form yet as I've not been registered self employed long enough).
