So how much of a % pay rise did you get this year?

I’ve just heard one of my friends got a “60%” payrise. she’s in a industry that has grown rapidly during the pandemic (online retail)

I had a £500 increase. An increase of 2% which tbh I was incredibly grateful for. I’m just glad I have a job! (Catering company)

If anyone else fancies sharing, please feel free and your thoughts about it

The job I was at I got a promotion but instead of the £10K extra per annum, I have the paperwork. They changed the job title and the pay to... my old salary but the old job description. So I left.

Tootsietootie · 13/12/2020 22:08

Household has lost about 25% (self employed) and loss of bank staff NHS earnings due to fecking long covid.

PipersOrange · 13/12/2020 22:11

Nearly 50% total package if you include bonus

WeAllHaveWings · 13/12/2020 22:14

0%

Plus no bonus which is usually around 5-6%. Also bonus calculation had been changed for next year to make it more likely to pay out. But it will payout much less even when times go back to normal. So essentially a cut.

SantasNoReal · 13/12/2020 22:14

0% in charity sector. Potentially my job is at risk. I’m convinced I’m the highest risk.

I’m also self employed and the restrictions have screwed me over to the point I can only operate online at a reduced rate but working harder than ever. It’s pocket money at this rate

Scottishskifun · 13/12/2020 22:15

2% will be the last one for a long time as I'm a civil servant and already announced freezes.

thedaytodayyesterday · 13/12/2020 22:15

-20% self employed

carolinesbaby · 13/12/2020 22:56

Public sector. Classed as a key worker and have worked throughout, harder than ever.
No pay rise.
Pay frozen for most of the last decade.
Pay freeze for next year as well and probably for the foreseeable future.
My pension has been decimated over the last 3 years.
All we get is continual pats on the back from ministers saying how hard we're working, yeah we know.

doubleaces89 · 13/12/2020 22:57

Maybe we'll get 1% due to inflation being 0.5% in Sept, more likely 0%. I'm ok with that as there haven't been any redundancies.

Will probably get a small 1-2% bonus non-consolidated bonus.

WaitingForEgg · 13/12/2020 23:01

I get about 7% rise each year as standard, I feel fortunate to have a job

DowntonCrabby · 13/12/2020 23:06

I got 4.5% first rise in I think 3 years. We won’t get another for at least another couple.

DH gets a rise yearly but usually only 2%

Still, with the year everyone’s had and the fact so many of our family and friends have been furloughed and/or made redundant, we’re just very grateful to have fairly stable jobs.

Raffie13 · 13/12/2020 23:24

1.5% I'm a college teacher

Dazedandconfused10 · 13/12/2020 23:46

25% which was not expected what so ever

Defenbaker · 14/12/2020 01:39

100% pay cut - redundancy.

I appreciate it's been hard for those people who have worked lots of extra hours for months while others have been off on furlough - they must feel they deserve a decent pay rise. But it's also hard being made redundant, with unemployment rising and so much competition for jobs that employers are asking for maximum skills and qualifications, while offering minimum wage. It's a bit soul destroying, being at either end of the employment spectrum. I feel quite low about it all.

SilkiesnowchicksandXmastreecat · 14/12/2020 02:21

Lost all income when schools shut in March as SN child and not eligible for any government help, he's had two isolations so far so still can't go back. At least DH has kept his job.

FolkSongSweet · 14/12/2020 03:14

1.5% when normally get 7-10%.

SimplySusanna · 14/12/2020 03:26

1%. Would usually be between 2-5%.

My company are shits. A multi-billion pound corporation that are still massively in the green despite CV and staff have worked like dogs all year. Fuckers.

DuzzyFuck · 14/12/2020 04:15

-33% Confused

I work in the tourism industry.

fromdownwest · 14/12/2020 09:13

Self employed

-40% net profit compared to this time last year

nevernotstruggling · 14/12/2020 10:13

I got my increment and whatever the public sector rise was earlier this year. Now back to being frozen. My Salary has been frozen most of my working life. However right now I'm grateful I'm at no risk of redundancy or pay cut.

Chimeraforce · 14/12/2020 10:22

Dunno. £50 per month extra on my half time earnings.

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 14/12/2020 10:24

A big fat Zero %.

Reduced to a 60% contract/ money

And looking at contract loss altogether from end of January.

missbipolar · 14/12/2020 10:55

21% but I'm also doing the work that previously had 5 people working on

TheGonnagle · 14/12/2020 10:56

Self employed -38%

sansou · 14/12/2020 16:28

15% pay cut across the board. Private sector. Profits have dived/dwindling cash reserves. 1st round of redundancies wasn’t a big number but 2nd round next year will be worse.
