Hi all, just popping in to say that this thread has been an absolute life saver for me and DD18. I can’t work due to our circumstances and DD has been desperate for work since finishing college and is struggling to find anything. DH works full time but it only covers the bills. Me and DD have both been doing this since September. I now have £800 saved in up in an account and me and DH plan to take the younger kids abroad next year with it (Covid permitting!) as I’m going to keep building it up which is amazing as we’ve never been able to afford any kind of holiday as a family before.

DD has earned a similar amount and it’s actually been a great relief for us financially as she now funds her own phone, clothes, takeaways etc. She’s always wanted to work and is constantly job hunting but never gets offered anything. She is getting really disheartened. She came to me today and asked whether I think she should put her work for Appen, Clickworker, Neevo etc on her CV as a freelance thing? I can’t see how it would hurt and it would definitely show initiative, but she’s worried employers wouldn’t take it seriously with it being online. Any thoughts?

Burnthurst187 · 23/12/2020 19:20

Field Agent has got one job in my area but it wants me to go into loads of tiny pharmacies and take photos of stuff. I can't imagine them being too happy about me doing that. With only a couple of ppl being allowed in at once and the fact the shops are tiny I'm thinking I'll look questionable. What are your experiences?

Redcrayons · 23/12/2020 19:37

@Burnthurst187 I’ve just seen that one, it’s quite tempting at that fee. If it was a bit closer to me I might have walked up there tomorrow to take a look. It’s a bit out of the way.

I have rejected ones in the past if I get there and the store is so small there’s no way to do it without being spotted.

I usually stick to the supermarkets, nobody takes any notice of what you’re doing.

Once you’ve done it a couple times, you’ll feel less self conscious.

I actually think it's a great idea. It shows work ethic, a willingness to learn new skills, flexibility, creativity (thinking 'outside' normal work options) and initiative. I've recruited for my own business in the past, and if I had two CVs from young people, I'd go for the one that had clearly made a huge effort to gain work experience and money by any means, especially in these times. Makes sure she writes down (separate from her CV to condense into it later) in detail exactly what skills she has used and developed as a result of the work she's done. If you like you can PM me Smile

There's one 0.6 miles from me and others within 1.5 miles. They're all small as I've looked on Google. I've been thinking if I can just do one I'll probably get more comfortable.

Until I start it I don't know exactly what I'm going to be asked to do though, for all I know I could have to take twenty photos?!

Strangely, the price per shop has doubled since yesterday. Not sure why

GachaBread · 23/12/2020 20:31

@Burnthurst187 the prices rise when nobody bothers with it. Use earphones and pretend your talking with someone on FaceTime etc that way you can easily take pictures that are required

Redcrayons · 23/12/2020 21:03

I don’t know about this one, but usually it’s quite a few photos. Usually a full one of the whole aisle, close up of the product with price tags, gaps if there are any and a photo of outside. if it mentions more than one product then you do the same for all of them. You’ll probably have to count how many are in stock.
If it’s only half a mile away I’d probably go check it out.

MyMajesty · 23/12/2020 23:54

@Frenchdoors1

@ MacTheFork It will be on the main page. I believe not everyone has the same tasks showing though.
Nothing ever appears on the dashboard for me - I only get offers of jobs by email.
MyMajesty · 24/12/2020 00:00

Oops, soz, I think we're talking about different things.

unicornpoopoop · 24/12/2020 10:01

@bookgirl1982 do you research the companies or do you take the ads completely on face value? I find it strange that we can't click to see the cut off text in the advert or click the buttons to see where they go. It's hard to know if it's misleading without being able to see the landing pages

YonderTweek · 25/12/2020 12:00

Just thought I'd pop in to wish all of you lovely £10/dayers a lovely Christmas! I'm very grateful for all your help and I am chuffed to bits I found this group. Xmas Grin Hope you're all enjoying your well deserved mince pies.

YonderTweek · 25/12/2020 12:45

Oh yeah in case anyone fancies some free screen time this Christmas. I found a six month Disney+ trial for O2 customers. Xmas Smile It says it's only for selected customers but I texted the number on the website and got the trial, so looks like I'll be watching the Mandalorian. Tohaveandtohold · 25/12/2020 15:35

Just came on here to wish you all a merry Christmas. Hope you all have a nice time celebrating

SilverOtter · 25/12/2020 19:02

I've just started using Crisp and am a tad confused! Anyone who is an experienced Crisper help me please🙏.

I've been doing a few items here and there as and when I have little chunks of time. Do I need to make a note of the items/hours completed as I go along? Or will payment be based on the items moderated as shown in the payment dashboard? My dashboard is still saying I've done zero, but I'm guessing that may be because it's Christmas and not normal working days?

I've never invoiced for things before and am just panicking a bit.

Redcrayons · 25/12/2020 19:10

@SilverOtter the dashboard keeps track of what you’ve done. I used to keep my own count But it’s never been wrong so o don’t bother now. I think for newbies it takes a few days to kick in, probably a bit longer at the moment. but don’t worry it’s all there.

Invoicing is easy enough. They will send you a statement mid month in January. On the wiki it tells you how to invoice. I use a standard template one fromWord.

Good luck.

SilverOtter · 25/12/2020 19:25

@Redcrayons thank you for putting my mind at restSmile

dirtyfries · 26/12/2020 21:36

@SilverOtter I started on the 18th and have done a little most days, my dashboard is still blank. I'm not bothering to chase until the new year

SilverOtter · 26/12/2020 23:19

@dirtyfries yes that makes sense, I will give it a week or two before I panicSmile

GailLondon · 27/12/2020 11:30

Payment increase on the Neevo phone call tasks :) I'm going to bite the bullet and do some this afternoon, they are quite well payed now! ($6 per call)

tinyradish · 27/12/2020 11:52

Anyone else still waiting for A**r december items? Have a feeling 2 of them will not be arriving at all...

RaininSummer · 27/12/2020 12:03

Yes. I have 3 from China outstanding.

YonderTweek · 27/12/2020 12:12

I have 4 outstanding. Angry I reckon I won't be able to do the January round now because they will be super late or not turning up at all. It's quite annoying because some of the stuff was quite expensive too. Never mind!

bookgirl1982 · 27/12/2020 15:39

One more to come here. I've had something else (tat from the Far East) from the same company so am hoping it might come next week.

TeddyDidIt · 27/12/2020 16:18

I have one outstanding. I had one outstanding last month too and still got invited to Dec round (and then the final item came mid-Dec).

seizethecuttlefish · 27/12/2020 16:44

Am** I have one outstanding from Nov and one for Dec. I have no faith that the Nov one will arrive but I can't mark it as not received yet.

Potato is back to being really quiet Sad
