I don't mind the high-value quality items so much; it's the low-value items that have little resale value plus postage costs almost as much as the item - that makes me really uncomfortable!

anxiouswaiting · 04/11/2020 14:56

@bettyshotspot oh thank you, I missed that!

SidVisk · 04/11/2020 14:59

I did so much Neev0 work last month I was expecting a good payment for October but I'm still waiting payment for about 500 tasks. Hopefully November will be good.

superpinkgirl · 04/11/2020 16:22

@AVL

Hi, hope someone can help. I need to purchase in Euros. For reimbursement I have to use my currency £. Do I put in what I paid which will be shown on my bank statement, or do I use a conversion tool? Thanks.
Hi AVL, I am also on the Amur project. I have the same question, what did you do for reimbursement in the end? Thank you.
bettyshotspot · 04/11/2020 16:25

On the project page under invoicing reminder there is the exchange rate that you have to use

Horehound · 04/11/2020 16:28

Ugh I'm so pissed off. And I know it's my own fault but still!

I did a quick job on rev bit missed a couple of spelling things the previous person had done so when I submitted I got a 3/5 for accuracy and then got an email saying my rating had fallen and to be careful. So I chose a 14min job to transcribe spent fucking ages on it making it perfect. I had to take a work call so I then had to click the "I need more time" button on my transcript. Fine I got another hour. I worked on it some more and just as I was finishing if, it auto unclaimed and so the next person who claims the job will have got it and submitted it. I emailed rev to say I had done all the work on it and was literally a minute from submitting but they've come back basically saying tough shit.

Urghh fuck sake.and it's so annoying cause it was only like $8 but it would have increased my rating again .

Have made a good amount from prolific today, like 15 quid.

YonderTweek · 04/11/2020 16:53

Ok, last one! I could have sworn we were supposed to blur out our personal information on the PDF that we have to upload, but I can't find the info anywhere. Did anyone else do this or did you just upload the order confirmations with your addresses etc?

seizethecuttlefish · 04/11/2020 17:16

@YonderTweek I did mine in paint and blurred stuff out. Left in my name and email, as they have that. I was taking ages trying to figure it out in pdf.

Just hoping I've done it right. I had a pile that didn't load so after the initial Yay, most of mine are a bit useless lol.

So I did all my purchases but have not captured job id. I think am screwed

anxiouswaiting · 04/11/2020 17:32

So the exchange rate on Am** won't actually affect how much I get back will it?

So I paid $45 via paypal, it charged me £36.24 but the Appen exchange rate says £33.75 so if they pay based on that I will have lost £2.65 for an item that I don't even really want.

Only done the 1 purchase so far. Looked at the 2nd one and the advert is in another language and the link takes me to a shop with hundreds of items to purchase on the page. I assume for this I can just pick something to purchase, I can't see anywhere that it says to skip for foreign languages.

whysotriggered · 04/11/2020 17:42

I didn't blur out my address etc for the one reimbursement as no idea how to do that!

I have not heard back from support about forgetting to note job ID and decided not to risk it so I cancelled the order for the most expensive item and have been refunded. Two items I actually wanted (clothes) so will keep regardless of reply. One I can gift for Xmas so will also keep regardless. The other two were not too expensive so I am waiting to hear back from support before I cancel/return them. Thank goodness I didn't have any dodgy ads.

Rad2016 · 04/11/2020 17:47

Yea i am waiting to hear from support too. bought all my items without job id. i had some very expensive products too

whysotriggered · 04/11/2020 17:50

@Rad2016 I forgot too, apart from the last one! As you can see from my comment above, I've decided not to risk it for the most expensive item. Reading the chat, a lot of people have done the same.

It's my fault I should have not assumed job ID meant order number but also I am not sure this project is worth all the faff.

Rad2016 · 04/11/2020 17:52

i totally agree with you. guidelines not very clear. Not sure if i should cancel all my purchases

TeddyDidIt · 04/11/2020 17:57

One of my most expensive ones has charged me twice and the reviews for the site are not good Sad Also, the exchange rate we are supposed to use is really below what I've actually been charged

Rad2016 · 04/11/2020 18:12

@whysotriggered how did you cancel the transactions

whysotriggered · 04/11/2020 18:16

@rad2016 I contacted the company and said I wanted to cancel the order and they refunded me. It was a proper website/company though.

Are you on chat? from what it says on there and from the welcome email for this project, I think we will not get reimbursed. Looks like this happened in October and they made an exception but not sure they will do it again.....

ruralwanderer · 04/11/2020 18:21

I've finished my A* purchasing and have done two reimbursements ok. Just need to do the other 7 now. It's taken me most of the day as I kept double checking and writing everything down.

Buster27 · 04/11/2020 18:40

@TeddyDidIt oh gosh that's awful you got charged twice Sad I hope it's resolved easily.

AVL · 04/11/2020 19:10

@bettyshotspot

On the project page under invoicing reminder there is the exchange rate that you have to use
Someone replied to me on the chat and said to use the amount I pay in £ that shows on my card/bank.
AVL · 04/11/2020 19:12

@bettyshotspot

This is for dollars though, to the currencies? I wanted Euros to £.
Rad2016 · 04/11/2020 19:57

Cancelled all my orders. Some of them cancelled already, some still waiting

minnimiss · 04/11/2020 20:20

I think I'm all don't with Amur, purchases and invoices done. I'm not sure I've done it all right though so I guess I will just wait and see! I have got some strange items incoming! Grin

TeddyDidIt · 04/11/2020 20:21
@TeddyDidIt oh gosh that's awful you got charged twice Sad I hope it's resolved easily.
Thank you. I have contacted the company but having looked them up they don't have a good reputation. I used PayPal (and a credit card as my PayPal payment method), so I guess I contact one of them if no joy with the company.
Hope everyone gets reimbursed one way or another!

seizethecuttlefish · 04/11/2020 20:37

Sounds like we all had a bit of Am stress today. I didn't expect it would be so stressful. I was in a complete panic at the start.
I think I'm about £5 down on the exchange rate. Tbh I have one decent thing and the rest is useless to me, hoping I can regift or sell. That way I'm making something back.
I'm a bit concerned that I can't see what I've entered on the reimbursement tool. I can see the number of items but not the detail. It crashed out and I got confused lol. I think, if I get reimbursed and selected again, I'll be having a glass of wine before I start Wine
