Well done all ye new Crispers! I am still waiting and I applied in October 2019 so maybe there is still some hope! Smile
So, I have received loads of emails from Appen over the last few days RE project Amur. I know it doesn't mean I'm definitely on it, but I have had lots of correspondence saying I have been selected and to wait for the email saying which workflow I'm on for the December round. Having said all that, it too looks like a complicated project with lots of little things that need to be followed to the letter so I'll wait and see! Wink

MrsWombat · 30/11/2020 18:12

@Frenchdoors1 It is a bit overwhelming but you'll get used to it quickly. You can always ask general (not client based) questions on here or in slack and send them an email for everything else. Generally, on a daily basis, you only use slack and have one or two tabs open on the tool. And yes, there are quiet times, but it's still regular work compared with Appen, uTest etc. Definitely give it a go. Smile

Frenchdoors1 · 30/11/2020 18:20

Thanks @MrsWombat.
You're right about it being overwhelming, especially after reading all the posts on it over the months.

I'm just a wuss really Grin

Rad2016 · 01/12/2020 10:12

So I've just had my invoice for A**r and I am gobsmacked. I do not want to think this is all I am getting paid after spending over £300. Invoice is $70. No way this is right

whysotriggered · 01/12/2020 10:37

It's all a bit confusing, I got $6!!! I have no idea how they worked that out!

YonderTweek · 01/12/2020 10:42

Re. A##r, I've read that the reimbursements will be added after the invoice has been submitted. I think they will be adding the bonuses on 1st, 2nd and 3rd December and then the reimbursements will show up afterwards. I'm going to check my invoice now...

MoreMoneyPlease · 01/12/2020 10:45

@seizethecuttlefish Well done! I've still got 700 points to go...it's literally taken months this time so I won't be bothering again. I've had two pay outs before which only took a month or so but this has been painful!

YonderTweek · 01/12/2020 11:15

My invoice seems to be ok. I got the correct amount as in the piece rate times the number of items, so that's cool. The chat has gone bonkers. Grin It grinds my gears a little bit that there are a couple of people in the chat, and they're there every single day moaning about newbies asking questions. It has really put me off asking anything because the answer to everything seems to be "doesn't anyone read the guidelines?!". Hmm I get that some people don't read them, but the guidelines are vague and often confusing so surely people will have questions. Never mind. Luckily the other chat rooms I've been in seem to be quite friendly.

I can't wait to see the rest of my Ap invoice. I've not made much at all on other platforms and I need some money for mince pies. Grin

unicornpoopoop · 01/12/2020 11:24

So we just submit this as is and the reimbursement will come through with it?

whysotriggered · 01/12/2020 11:32

I agree with that @YonderTweek
And yes not all chats are the same. I work on a different project where the chat is much friendlier and helpful. And we all try to offer our limited insight/advice LOL. I think the vibe is we are all in this together!

People need to be kinder. We were all newbies once.

I have to say I am not sure this project is worth the money or hassle. I'm interested in seeing what others think. I don't know if I would want to do it again although I have to admit I did enjoy opening the packages Grin

whysotriggered · 01/12/2020 11:33

@unicornpoopoop I looked at the document on it and apparently yes

TheLolaMontez · 01/12/2020 12:05

Hi all,

I am trying to do my N*le invoice on app but when I select the invoice billing period, November isn't there, it's just stuck on December - does anyone know how to change this?

YonderTweek · 01/12/2020 13:49

@unicornpoopoop If you're not waiting on other projects then I guess you can go ahead and submit. I tend to submit right before the deadline in case stuff gets added, and also my other project is a bit slow so the invoice gets uploaded really late. (I'm still quite new to Ap so not always sure what the best way is. Grin)

minnimiss · 01/12/2020 14:48

I think my Am** looks to be correct, 10 items purchased, 70 dollars showing which is 10x piece rate. And I've not had any emails to say invoices have been rejected so I guess I just cross fingers now and hope that I get the full lot of reimbursement show up as a bonus in the next couple of days! I've got mixed feelings about this project for sure. I've ended up with mostly stuff I don't want and found the process quite stressful the first time around but I think it would be much easier this time.

Rad2016 · 02/12/2020 19:30

I totally don't think this A*r project is worth the time and effort tbh. I wouldn't worry if I don't get December email. I got accepted onto N**le on Appen but never gained access and after sometime got an email there's no more work. My husband got accepted yesterday and today he got the email to start rating. That would've been some good money for me. At least he's got it and I hope it last for some time.

Still no luck on Bne or wri

Gatekeeper · 02/12/2020 20:36

I THOUGHT Ap**n only allowed 1 person registered per household? Is that not the case?

Rad2016 · 02/12/2020 23:13

No idea. He has been on it for a while and has earned some money. We've not been stopped so far

Gatekeeper · 03/12/2020 06:43

Woohoo..I will sign dh up for it then

TheSilentStars · 03/12/2020 06:48

Namechanged and been busy with day job.
I'm the one unable to invoice Nile for October despite having worked it.
After (feels like) 476 tickets they've asked to see screenshots of the tool (despite me telling them that's not the problem, the problem is I can't raise an invoice as Nile is not there anymore.
Now I've received a "due to inactivity you are permanently removed from Nile"

My year was almost up anyway but I'm really pissed off at this cock up. Have raised another ticket.

I've had the Dec A* emails through but you've all put me off.

Grin

@Gatekeeper

Yes, that's the case. It says it in the blurb. When I lost my log in way back when I signed up with another email and they picked up I had 2 accounts.
Rad2016 · 08/12/2020 20:37

Did anyone get the link to a*r in appen? Not started as I've had a real shit day. Our car got stolen on drive. Engine was on to warm it up for school run. Both keys inside the house. It's been a shit day

TheSilentStars · 09/12/2020 06:32

Rad, we've moved onto the December thread, quite a few of us have started A*. Some have already finished their purchases but I'm so horrified at the utter shite I'm buying I'm doing a bit at a time Grin
Sorry to hear about your car. Flowers

Rad2016 · 09/12/2020 07:24

Oh thank you. Could I have a link please

minnimiss · 09/12/2020 08:46

Well I've completed my Am** for this month. 12 purchases- A small handbag/phone bag, a child's maths book, a frighteningly realistic reborn doll, a dress, a designer men's T-shirt, a ring, a necklace, a lovely rug, a cuddly penguin, MAC concealer, a door knob and the highest value item is some sort of equestrian type thing that holds your phone to film you as you ride.... this will be returned. Imma bit gutted because I could have bought anything I wanted from MAC but had hardly any budget left. If that had come up first I could have blown 150 dollars on a gift set. But I do really need some concealer. It's been interesting! Grin
