@YonderTweek Yes, I've had a lot of Appen ones come my way recently. Some of the instructions are ridiculously complicated which puts me right off.

@rhij86 Welcome back and many congratulations! Seems to be lots on Appen but I've lost my mo-jo a bit and can't be bothered with some of the low paying jobs on Neevo etc (which is probably not the right attitude!) Lovely Intellizoom seems to have forgotten me but others may be getting more tasks?

rhij86 · 18/11/2020 17:08

@YonderTweek @MoreMoneyPlease thank you!

I was really lucky at the tail end of last year with appen but it fizzled out. Need to get back on it, and prolific.

Any other gems/suggestions to get me started?

Buster27 · 18/11/2020 17:22

Congratulations @rhij86, and welcome back. Sorry to hear about your job. Appen has been my best earner lately, though I did get a £16 prolific this morning which I was impressed with.

MoreMoneyPlease · 18/11/2020 17:27

@Buster27 £16 on prolific??!! That's amazing. Most of mine pay about £1 on there!

Frenchdoors1 · 18/11/2020 17:40

@rhij86 Hey, lovely to see you back!
Sorry to hear you were made redundant.

Congratulations on the birth of your little girl 🎊

It's pretty quiet everywhere lately we're all just more or less plodding on with bits of work - nothing new to report though

rhij86 · 18/11/2020 19:07

Thanks all for the lovely welcome back :) x

Buster27 · 18/11/2020 19:29

@MoreMoneyPlease they paid it quickly too! It did take the best part of two hours though, but easy money.

Catatemyhomework · 18/11/2020 22:32

Welcome back @rhij86 and congratulations on the birth of your daughter Flowers. Sorry to hear about the redundancy. Life sucks a bit at the moment for sure. I'm still plodding along slowly but really not earning anything worth mentioning at the moment. Very disappointing. Appen seems to have loads of those video and photo type projects at the moment. I haven't done any though because they all seem quite stringent with their criteria for submission. Might have another look tomorrow. Missing B*e and W**i Sad. Neevo is very quiet for me too at the moment and most of the Intellizoom work I have been getting has dropped to $1 Hmm. I realised today that I've been on this thread for nearly a year. Think I joined Appen on 1st December or thereabouts. How time flies! What a year!!

Wolfff · 19/11/2020 05:59

Congratulations @rhij86.
Sorry about your job and that lockdown has been tough with little ones.
I would just advise to apply or reapply for Crisp and anything you can do on Appen. Intellizoom and prolific are still sending invites. I get emails from Neevo all the time but don’t do them. I haven’t looked at Clickworker/UHRS recently but that might be something to consider.

WotsitWiggle · 19/11/2020 08:18

Popping on to see how everyone is getting on.

I'm only getting text validation Neevo tasks at the moment, and to be honest, struggle to motivate myself to do those! I should though because this month's earnings are pitiful.

My A**r purchases are slowly being delivered - 3 so far and another on it's way. I tried returning one item for a refund and they've offered me 15% of the purchase price, and then upped it to 25%! I almost wish attempting returns was part of the review process, because this site is dodgy as hell.

I've given up with most of the other sites at the moment, I did ok in September but October was terrible and November looks the same.

ruralwanderer · 19/11/2020 08:39

That's a pain @wotsitwiggle, so far I've only got 1 item to return and although I'll have to pay return postage, it will be covered by the $7 I'll get for reviewing it so I can live with that. Other than that it'll be a full refund. It was utter junk so not suitable for gifting or re-selling.

HappyPotato · 19/11/2020 10:44

A question for A**r people, I qualified for it this morning, is it worth it? Or am I going to end up with mostly unusable tatt whilst being out of pocket for awhile?

ruralwanderer · 19/11/2020 11:35

@HappyPotato, I'm on my first month of it so yet to be reimbursed but at the moment I quite like it. As long as I get fully reimbursed, I'll be happy, and will definitely do it again. If I have issues being reimbursed I'll be less keen to try again.

TeddyDidIt · 19/11/2020 11:49

@HappyPotato

The jury is out as it's my first month too. I've had half tat, half really good, useful stuff. The angst is whether the reimbursement will go through without a hitch. There are several people on the chat that are still waiting for their August reimbursement and not even getting acceptable communication from Ap.
I think that, if it goes well, payment should come about 5 weeks after spending, which could work well with credit cards if you're at the right point of your billing month, so you wouldn't be out of pocket for long.

Nondescriptname · 19/11/2020 12:14

I've had no tasks at all from n**vo for ages. I got paid for all the outstanding ones recently and not a squeak since.
I haven't ventured into the more complicated sounding things that you all talk about.

Wolfff · 19/11/2020 13:04

@Nondescriptname

Re Neevo maybe check your email spam box. I get loads of invites, though I haven’t worked for them for ages.

Nondescriptname · 19/11/2020 14:48

Thank you, @Wolfff. Nothing there, though.

Wolfff · 19/11/2020 15:59

At one point I reapplied using a different email address and my married name (I have PayPal accounts in both), as I got nothing for a while. It makes no difference to bank transfers. Maybe try that.

Nondescriptname · 19/11/2020 16:01

Thanks.
I might do that.

Buster27 · 19/11/2020 17:13

@HappyPotato This month was my first round so I haven't been reimbursed yet, but assuming that goes smoothly I'm happy with it and would like to participate again. Mine were all legit sites and decent items. Best were an expensive pair of jeans for my husband, ones he'd actually pick himself (though maybe not if he was paying Grin) and a perfume for me that I wouldn't have picked myself but I like it so it's ended up being a nice treat for me. It was nicely packaged so I'd have gifted it to a friend if it wasn't to my taste. The only thing I'm not keeping is actually a nice item (branded lipstick), it came from the US so won't bother returning but it looks like I'll be able to easily sell it on for it's value.

unicornpoopoop · 19/11/2020 18:54

Do we need to do anything invoice wise with Am?

I've just returned £150 worth of stuff with no hassle so providing the reimbursements go through l'm happy with that. That was only for 2 items, the rest weren't worth the hassle so I will be gifting them. There was only one item that I would actually keep but it's not arrived yet.

I was hoping I would have some purchases where I got to pick the item but no such luck ☹️

whysotriggered · 19/11/2020 19:43

@unicornpoopoop that's pretty good going. I got the December availability survey today and decided to say I was available despite my reservations.

YonderTweek · 19/11/2020 20:44

Ooh I just did a couple of easy returns too, so I feel a bit better about it all in case reimbursements go wrong. Grin I've now received all of my stuff and just have one last thing to review, which is good. I just got an email about the December round and I might sign up for it and see if I feel like doing it later. Obviously if there are issues with reimbursements then I won't be doing it, but I've quite enjoyed this mystery shopping so far and wouldn't mind doing it again.

I desperately need more work. But then I always panic around mid-month and then it gets busier, so fingers crossed...

seizethecuttlefish · 19/11/2020 21:09

I got the Am email too and I've put my name down. I'm still waiting on one thing, got a Christmas present out of it, gifted one and selling one. Not too bad. I'm hopeful it'll be ok re reimbursement. I think all the receipts went through fine and I think they'd say if there was an issue. Appen tend to be good and I'm hoping this is up to their usual projects. I do need something more consistent. There doesn't seem to be any regular stuff. I had a regular project and it stopped last month. The 2 projects that usually provide an extra few hours a month haven't had any work this month.

I've been looking at UHRS on Clickworker but I need to get my head round it.

Potato has been amazing the last few days. That's really helped. I'm hoping it keeps up for a bit.

OP posts:
WotsitWiggle · 20/11/2020 08:36

I've applied for December round too, despite still waiting on 6 items (all tat). The item I'm attempting to return has now increased their offer to 28% and a google of the shill UK company name confirms it's a scam site. Obviously I'll be reimbursed, but I'm going to keep going with the emails to see how high their offer will go (increasing by 50p each day!).

I hope my December items will be better, I'm enjoying the process but I'd quite like some nice or useful stuff out of it!
