Hi everyone. Welcome to the new thread.

@Tattiespuds I don't think the surge bit shows until the following day.

Tattiespuds · 07/11/2020 21:36

hmmmm... I was sure it did. I emailed over a query just to check anyway. If I didn't query tonight I'll have forgot all about it tomorrow. Hopefully it updates tomorrow.

Dimsummummy · 07/11/2020 21:53

@Tattiespuds I think mine hasn’t gone on either, I say think. As I’ve done loads today so it could have. Pretty sure I’ve been on more than an hour of surges though, and if I divide my daily earnings by the average piece rate of all types (without accounting for surges) it makes sense. So, I’m inclined to agree that surges haven’t updated yet. Pretty sure they say up to 48 hours for them though (although usually show before that for me).

Dimsummummy · 07/11/2020 21:53

Haha sorry had wine, grammar awful! 😬

MrsWombat · 08/11/2020 06:56

@Tattiespuds Surges definitely get added on much later. With the old dashboard it was around 6.30am the following day. Think it's a bit earlier now though.

Crowsandshivers · 08/11/2020 08:21

Hello! I used to belong to these threads a while ago but then started working but now I've lost my job again with covid so am hoping to earn before Christmas. Could anyone tell me what potato is please? Also I recommend Qmee. I've earned £13 in 3 days on there by doing a few surveys.

Redcrayons · 08/11/2020 08:42

@Crowsandshivers potato is crisp thinking. Link on the first post

Surges always update the next day. When I first started, I counted everY single item and it was always right, in fact usually a bit more than I counted.

Baby89 · 08/11/2020 08:44

Hi all. Got email from aiteamwork I need to do training to move forward however cannot get my head around it, can anyone direct me thanks. Also got email to join appen manr* . Woudnt take part as they want videod of my exercising, not sure why they want that but cant see it on the appen website. Any help advice welcomed thanks

YonderTweek · 08/11/2020 09:31

FFS I had applied for C&&&&n and was invited to do the qualification exam. I haven't got an iPhone! I think I might go for that second hand iPhone after all, if it gives me access to more projects. But I don't want to spend lots of money on one in case it doesn't work out. 🙈

I'm gutted about S&&&&a as I finally got access but it doesn't work for me. Support have been great but I'm not getting any tasks. Boo!

@Baby89 I saw that on the Ap website too. I'm guessing it's to do with training cameras to recognise movement or expressions etc. If you click on "All Projects" at the top of the page when you log in it should come up. Smile

unicornpoopoop · 08/11/2020 09:33

Was anyone made aware of the appen data breach in June?

I just checked my email address on haveibeenpwned

And was shocked to see Appen come up as I don't remember ever receiving an email to let me know

Compromised data: Email addresses, Employers, IP addresses, Names, Passwords, Phone numbers

TeddyDidIt · 08/11/2020 11:06

@YonderTweek I passed the exam for Ch* a couple of weeks ago and am still waiting for access. What's more, they basically say it can take a long time so don't send a ticket chasing us!

Tattiespuds · 08/11/2020 11:22

Thats all. its updated now. I was sure it showed previously, maybe not and Im talking rubbish haha

ruralwanderer · 08/11/2020 11:57

@unicornpoopoop I knew about it as it advised me to change my password when I logged onto F8 a few months back. I don't think an email ever went out though.

seizethecuttlefish · 08/11/2020 12:06

@TeddyDidIt go you. I failed that one. I suspect I'm too old for it lol

OP posts:
TeddyDidIt · 08/11/2020 12:18

@seizethecuttlefish I failed a very similar one shortly before - I think it was a case of needing to follow the guidelines to the point of blocking out any common sense!

whysotriggered · 08/11/2020 12:43

@unicornpoopoop Yes I did, we discussed it on one of these threads so I changed all my passwords plus I think Appen did advise me but I can't remember how.

unicornpoopoop · 08/11/2020 14:29

I somehow completely missed it 🤦‍♀️
I will change my password now

Sonmi451 · 08/11/2020 22:22

OMG, page 12 now? We were only on page 4 when I last checked in a few days ago!

I've heard no more about the Appen China thing.

Data breach at Appen makes sense, I wasn't aware until now. I did notice my junk mail folder is suddenly full of "Test and keep X product", I wondered which site was responsible for those. For all I know they could be genuine, but I'm very doubtful.

I got started with matched betting, started up with a bookie and deposited £20, placed a £5 bet to trigger the free bet, with the intention of using the rest of the deposit intermittently so as to appear as a "real" bettor. Actually won a couple of other bets, so am currently about £40 up! I bet on one with fairly high odds, as a sacrificial bet expecting to lose, but it won. Result!

ChloeAckroyd82 · 09/11/2020 10:29

Found this thread while looking for new moderation work. I have previously worked at Crisp and modsquad but am looking at ICUC. I am unsure of the differences, I found the level of accuracy and speed hard to keep up with at Crisp. Has anyone worked for ICUC in the past that I could ask some questions before I waste my time applying? Any help appreciated.

TheSeedsOfADream · 09/11/2020 13:07

Appen China- I did a few bits and bobs in the summer on the interface and all I can say is- life is too short. Can't remember what it was now, similar to But* (the smart home stuff) but the instructions were like Google translate had done them and I never did manage to establish how we were to get paid.

I am now we'll pissed off with A in general. I still can't invoice N for October as it's still disappeared off my jobs, nobody is answering my tickets (now been a week) but I'm still getting "you haven't worked your 5 days" no shit Sherlock. I'm not going to am I if you're not going to pay me.

seizethecuttlefish · 09/11/2020 13:07

Hi and welcome @ChloeAckroyd82. I don't think I've seen anyone mention them here. I can't even find any reviews online for them.

ChloeAckroyd82 · 09/11/2020 13:27

@seizethecuttlefish Thanks for the response, here is hoping someone knows some information. Yeah I couldn't find much about what it is like compared to other moderation jobs.

didireallyjustsaythat · 10/11/2020 11:36

Is anyone else having issues with Appen today. I've tried logging in multiple times and it's so slow I can barely click onto basic links and get the page up?

Claudiawinklemansfringe · 10/11/2020 11:46

I am too with Appen @didireallyjustsaythat - I reckon they have site issues and / or an update going on. Was fine at 8am our time then it's played up since 8.30 onwards...so slow. I'm going to try again later.
