Hi all, just applying to Appen. Is sending them my CV a must? Will they treat it confidentially? Could I send them my LinkedIn instead? Thanks

Azerothi · 06/07/2020 20:34

Appen are bound by strict confidentially codes like any employer. I didn't have any qualms at all sending mine to Appen.

But in answer to your question I don't know if they will treat it confidentially and if you are really concerned the best advice is not to send anything you're not 100 percent comfortable with.

@curdsandwhey

It's worth emailing Intellizoom to let them you know have lots of free time at the moment, so could they have a look and see if your test has been approved. I did this, and they got back to me within a couple of days.

Also, if you haven't already, I recommend signing up for User Testing which also does similar stuff. It pays slightly more than Intellizoom, too. $10 instead of $8.

Thanks for replying , does that fact that my baby disturbed my practice test affect my chance of getting any assignments?
curdsandwhey · 06/07/2020 22:06

Sorry I don't know.

excuseforfights · 06/07/2020 22:12

Thanks @Azerothi

WonderTweek · 06/07/2020 22:17

I did my Intellizoom test a week ago and haven't heard anything but I guess they're just busy. I feel like I might have messed it up because I only realised afterwards that I should probably sell myself a bit more and I probably sounded a bit timid. But we'll see what happens. I quite enjoyed chatting to myself so I'm hoping I'll get to do more of those...

It's been quiet here recently! Just been doing some surveys and Neevo, but even Neevo are being a bit slow at the mo. I've signed up for so much stuff it's insane! I'm desperate to prove to my husband that this actually works. Grin

RyanBergarasTeeth · 06/07/2020 22:37

I just signed up to fivver. Although i used to write unpaid articles years ago ive never formally worked in writing or editing but im giving it ago plus i passed their test so have published a gig!

Catatemyhomework · 07/07/2020 00:05

Managed 10 minutes work on the B* US tasks. Didn't last long. UK ones had already gone when I clicked the link. Shame as I like part 1.

ruralwanderer · 07/07/2020 05:35

I missed B* entirely and logged on just after 05:15! I hate that they release the tasks overnight!

MrsWombat · 07/07/2020 05:50

Argh! Missed Bane completely!

Rad2016 · 07/07/2020 07:20

Missed Bane...why do they load at very odd hours. Oh well I hope we get more task. It's only the beginning of the month

Tinging · 07/07/2020 08:26

@Baby89 I failed the Intellizoomtest because my microphone was having issues but the email said I could request to take it again by sending them an email, which I did. It took just over a week for them to give me access to the test again.

Baby89 · 07/07/2020 08:51

@Tinging, thanks I’ll email them ASAP

whysotriggered · 07/07/2020 11:48

I got the email with links about midnight but I was too tired so didn't bother. And of course, in the morning it was all gone LOL.

seizethecuttlefish · 07/07/2020 12:18

@whysotriggered same here. Suspected it might happen. It's quiet month so far.

RainRainGoAway2020 · 07/07/2020 13:08

Can I please ask roughly how much people are making on potato? I'm trying to do an hour each day but I've still not got access to the dashboard.

GabrielleChanel · 07/07/2020 14:53

I took a REV test and failed - I consider myself to be fairly quick though I would say my accuracy/use of delete key needs work.

Where would you advise people to start?

Jollyoldholiday · 07/07/2020 15:53

Hi all,

I’m a RA with Crisp (only recently started) and also have another job where my employer sorts out my tax and NI contributions

I’ve registered with HMRC so I can do a tax self return for the Crisp work but am v confused by the form I have to complete. Firstly it says I should enter Crisp’s PAYE reference (I’ve emailed them but they said this shouldn’t be necessary) and there are a whole load of other questions I’m unsure about.

Has anyone already submitted theirs for Crisp and could advise?

Thanks very much in advance

RainRainGoAway2020 · 07/07/2020 16:13

You won’t have a PAYE ref from crisp because they are t paying tax on your behalf. I think you need to I put the reference from your full time job in that space.

RainRainGoAway2020 · 07/07/2020 16:15

Oh hold on I’ve just reread your post. You should have registered as self employed with you being the company - you must have done something wrong for them to be asking for a PAYE reference. Did you put crisp down as your employer?

MrsWombat · 07/07/2020 16:51

@Jollyoldholiday, In theory, it's £10 per hour if you do it as quickly as they think is possible. If you've just started you'll be lucky if you get £5 as it's PPI. I find the best thing to do is break it up into 15 mins chunks and focus 100%.

Jollyoldholiday · 07/07/2020 17:07

Thanks very much @RainRainGoAway2020 - I’ll check what I’ve done!

Jollyoldholiday · 07/07/2020 17:08

Thanks @MrsWombat - I’m hoping to get up to that speed at some point!

RainRainGoAway2020 · 07/07/2020 17:27

Thanks MrsWombat - there’s not enough content for me to do £10 an hour.

unicornpoopoop · 07/07/2020 19:53

I thought I'd had a bad month as wasn't get anywhere near as many tasks as I did in May on lionbridge but actually made £450 which whilst not as high, I'm still happy with it
