Ugh. I'm on a WhatsApp thread for instructors at my local leisure centre which we use to get classes covered. Understandably it's a bit quiet at the moment until just now when an instructor posted about wanting to put together a "care package" for NHS. She's not a personal friend but as soon as I saw the words my spidey senses tingled

I'd say that it was good that nurses tenacity has paid off, but how long has it taken? A year, 18 months? You'd have given up long ago in a real business.

No doubt yawn will be laying it on thick. How long do we give the newbie? A month? No one in their right mind would be paying out for stuff like that at the moment.

To paraphrase- why are all these top business women panicking over being able to buy food to the point they are holding raffles. They must have everything on credit and spend every penny they earn. It hasn't even been a few weeks yet. Surely these people can survive 3 months on their savings. The one holding the raffle was given a car a few weeks ago but now they are worrying about buying food. This will show who the real business owners are.

I think this is having a negative effect on MLM's. Their target market are the low paid. Those who have recently lost jobs or been furloughed have no money to spare. Lockdown means no face to face love bombing. No photos of fancy holidays and purchases. Everyone is worried about more than having a side hustle. Making new mlm friends is not as attractive when all you want to do is see the friends you already have, not to mention your family.

I think that new signups are really hard to come by.

I think this will be thre death of Younique who were struggling already. Other MLM's may go as well.

Had a few weeks away from MLMs and just been catching up. How depressing all the bogus fundraising is. All over the so called community pages where I am. One of the community pages has a Body Shop bot as an Admin. It’s tricky calling them out because to the untrained eye it all looks so benevolent and then along comes a negferret like any of us to point out there’s a flaw in the generosity and that they’re really donating to BS, Avon, Arbonne or FM (the ones I’ve seen being the most persistent). I got shouted down as uncaring and then had some tit for tat deletion of my post sharing an NHS fundraiser (all monies were going direct). I’ve started wading through all the work from home fraud now

Has anyone had a look at Mr and Mrs Messiah? Mrs is clearly a big antivaxxer and so like all good antivaxxers she’s hopped over to telling the world that Corona is just a big conspiracy sent to us by Bill Gates or some other person/people. Messiah is right behind her on this. Normally I’d just laugh and move on but Totally Shit Life has a big following of those who believe in the power of the mint choc pyramid to change lives, so I can’t help wondering who might be influenced to disregard the virus and the behaviour we all need to stick to. These idiots have a pretty big reach.

Excellent article @YouokHun. They’re parasitic little fuckers aren’t they? I doubt we’ll see the Law of Reaction in action, but wouldn’t it be wonderful if bots donated a generous slice of their alleged millions directly to a charity which supports the NHS or research into the virus?

Yes @BSintolerant wouldn’t it be great if they could be genuine and give direct. It’s very tricky to call out sadly. I’ve put out a press request to try and get some media coverage that is UK oriented because there’s a tendency for U.K. Huns to claim, “that’s the US, it’s different here” so I’m hoping a tabloid might pick this up while at the same time publicising legitimate fundraising avenues. The good news is that after the flurry of dodgy fundraising, false health claims and lies about working from home opportunities,the experts are saying they think many MLMs will be fatally wounded by this crisis. It’s just a shame they will take so many misguided victims with them.
