Hi All,

I have been emailed by Lionbridge to take the exam. The email states that payment details are per task and will be disclosed at a later date.

I just want to know if I am going to be making the best use of time with this? I plan to do 10-15 hours per week if accepted and pass the exam. How much of a return would I be looking at for that amount of time?

There is a new Appen transcription project listed for native speakers of Irish English, Scottish English, Welsh English. Their words not mine!

@mrswombat I applied for that but when I went through to the task details page in the application the language requirements were different! None of the UK English was listed anymore. I carried on anyway but its unclear what they actually want for that project.

anxious- you must have clicked on the one for people originating from Eastern Europe. I did that- confused me as they were asking if i came from Romania/Bulgaria etc. There is another one for people originating from UK

It is just a firefox/chrome extension that works in the background. It has taken me about 2 weeks to build up $4.50 and I am planning to cash out when I get up to £5 - money for nothing really.

@gatekeeper I only had 1 project to click on so it was definitely the right one, said English England, Wales etc on the description but then when I click qualify the was the indepth project description and the only English mentioned was New zealand English. Then the questions it asked me were language and Linguistic experience. Guess I will just wait and see if anything comes of it.

@anxiouswaiting You are right. It looks like they haven't updated the second page. Hopefully it will work out for you. You can always raise a ticket and let them know.

I've just cashed out my football shares and withdrawn my balance. I made £29 for doing nothing apart from depositing £30 and buying £30 of shares. Just withdrew £59 so easy money. February has been a very slow month with still no news at all from Appen. Half-term has slowed me down and I haven't earned much. I have been busy with UTest over the weekend and submitted 3 bug reports. Hoping they are approved. I am still ploughing through the Neevo tasks, although it is a lot of work for not much money. UHRS has been quite quiet too. Done a bit of matched betting but not much. I tend to use it as a filler if there is nothing else going on. I have also done a few Intellizoom projects which are ok money wise. Hope everyone's doing well. I am hoping March will be better on the money earning front.

Is anyone else having issues with Appen? I've had 2 projects stuck waiting to have the basic qualification package reviewed for ages now, not sure if I keep waiting or need to contact them? One was submitted and a test done, the other didn't ask for a test. It's on day 17 of one wait, 39 on the other. Is this normal?

@527040minutes I've got 21 in progress- some of those for 6 months plus. It's just the way they are. Best to just apply for everything you can and see if any come back.

@justtheonethen thank you, I didn't dare apply for everything in case there was a risk of ending up over committed so I've been waiting to be either rejected or accepted before applying to others 😂 I'll work through everything and just apply to it all and cross my fingers!
