Thanks @rhij86, good tip! I think I'll leave it until I have more to withdraw but keeping my fingers crossed you get your payment soon - that's a fab amount to be receiving just before Xmas!

On another note, another positive recommendation for matched betting. Just hit the £400 profit mark since starting 2 weeks ago. It's actually quite fun!

rhij86 · 13/11/2019 20:23

@moneym woop well done!! I rinsed through all the welcome offers on matched betting last year. We're moving house in the new year and once we've done that I'll do it again under my husbands name.

Now that I've got 2x 20hr projects I'm hoping Decembers payout will be 2-3 times this months!! Fingers crossed...

dreamyflower · 13/11/2019 20:39

Just wondering if an Appen pro could help me? I got invited to take the cottonwood test. Just sat down to read guidelines and it takes me to a page which is no longer available. Any ideas? Thanks

rhij86 · 13/11/2019 20:55

@dreamyflower I clicked through to the test and there is another guidelines link that worked for me

Buster27 · 13/11/2019 21:21

@MoneyM Great start to matched betting! I also quite enjoy it.

Just did 1.5 hours on my new Appen project.. even less sure on it that my other one Blush I'm also never going to fit in 20 hours on 2 projects, so think I will just make sure to do 10 on both and then if I do have any time for more I'll do it on whichever I'm finding easier by then!

MoneyM · 13/11/2019 21:24

@rhij86 A house move is a perfect way to get started again! I noticed that a couple of the bookies (who I must have had an account with years ago) recognised my telephone number and said no but if I tried with my partner's then it went through fine - I think a lot of their "due diligence" is just for show!

12help34please56 · 13/11/2019 21:29

@dreamyflower

Good luck with the cottonwood test - I've tried it this evening but failed. Have emailed for feedback but I'm not hopeful

toastytea · 13/11/2019 21:30

@Moneym payoneer have been charging you a fee? I just checked mine to see and they haven't charged me any fee. I did get paid using their conversion rate which is a penny better than PayPal!

I've never really paid much attention to how the pound is doing but I'm now regularly checking.. doesn't seem to be getting any better!!

alwayscauseastir · 13/11/2019 21:35

@12help34please56 I failed it too, but the guidance book wouldn't open (said link no longer available), so I went in totally blind.

anxiouswaiting · 13/11/2019 21:40

Paid by Appen yay.
Failed yet another Appen test boooo.
Just logged in to Crisp and good surge in so going to do a bit of that before bed.
@MoneyM did you use profit accumulator or anything? How much did you start with to make £400 in 2 weeks?

MoneyM · 13/11/2019 21:45

@toastytea Yeah! It was $3 deducted immediately as the payment came from Appen and then a currency conversion fee (which I've now realised I can avoid). Payoneer must be raking it in!

@anxiouswaiting I followed the Team Profit method - it was really straightforward once you've watched their videos a few times. I started with £25 but quickly added more when I realised how profitable it could be. I use the team profit spreadsheet to track P&L and deposits/withdrawals - some of the numbers floating about are crazy...almost £800 worth of deposits in 2 weeks balanced out by withdrawals.

Does anyone know if I can apply for Appen if dh doesn’t want to work for them anymore? After reading this thread, I convinced dh to sign up for them in May (I was getting maternity allowance then so I couldn’t) and in July, he got a 1hr a day task which has been good however, the task has now changed to a 3hour a day thing and he’s finding it hard with his full time job and over 2 hour commute.
Im back to work now, 30hrs a week and just a short commute so I have time and really need the money esp with all the new projects you’ve all been getting. Does anyone know if I can apply if he ends his contract with them?

viccat · 13/11/2019 23:02

I assume I'm not intelligent enough for Appen then as I have no idea how to try to qualify for anything because this question comes up and I don't understand it... "Please specify the company (or companies) for which you are currently working as a search engine evaluator"

Can't find any guidelines anywhere either. Confused

justtheonethen · 13/11/2019 23:13

@viccat just put N/A if you aren't working for any?

DontCallMeDarling · 13/11/2019 23:38

@Tohaveandtohold
I know it's only one person per household so technically if he ends his contract with them and terminates his account then you should be able to apply, but I would check with them too.

@viccat once you have applied to Appen and they've accepted you, projects you are eligible for appear and you can apply for them. This can be quick or really slow, some you have to take an exam for and this is when you will get guidelines.

viccat · 14/11/2019 00:05

I can see the projects but this question comes up when I click to qualify for any of them, I don't really understand what they mean - like if they would allocate a company to me or something like that. Didn't want to put a random answer in case they decide to disqualify me based on that...

justtheonethen · 14/11/2019 00:16

@viccat it's just checking if you work for another company as an evaluator as they will reject you if you are working for certain ones. I assume you're not working for any? If that is the case just say N/A or none.

SNISR · 14/11/2019 06:09

Anyone who's passed project Dorian, Any advice for passing the test please?

rhij86 · 14/11/2019 06:11

Has everyone been paid by appen? Becasue I haven't... and my invoice is still saying approved

SNISR · 14/11/2019 06:55

@rhij86 yes I got paid last night. Check in your PayPal if it's connected? Mine foes straight to PayPal once I've been paid into Payoneer.

rhij86 · 14/11/2019 07:01

@snisr nothing, nothing showing in payoneer either and in appen my invoice still says approved not paid :-/

Fizbo · 14/11/2019 07:10

@rhij86 they can pay up until the 14th of the month so it might come through later today as they are 8 hours behind us

rhij86 · 14/11/2019 07:22

@fizbo ok thanks, fingers crossed I'm just in a later payment batch then! 🤞

obviouslymarvellous · 14/11/2019 07:24

Am getting seriously peeved with Appen now! Day three of not being able to access the project srt due to the link not working (this is for the I project) they just keep sending me a pdf of guidelines for another project despite me sending screenshots - I actually think this just isn't meant to be! I have loads of other projects to qualify for but this is making me sour now. Also the Atascadero one I did this in mid October and it's not on invoice am I just being too keen?
Lionbridge have finally sent me al the exam stuff but it looks monstrous. Does anyone work for them?

Cloudworkers have emailed back and despite me hanging onto paperwork over a month have said I can apply. Think I will do that as it just seems a whole lot less complicated!

Bemystarlord · 14/11/2019 07:48

@rhij86 I’ve not been paid yet either. I usually wake up to it but hopefully will come through during the day 🤞
