Let's try not to fill this one up too quickly Grin

I think everyone had an absolutely smashing month in June, with lots of luck thrown in at the end of it for good measure. I think we're all proving it's possible you can earn £10 a day from the comfort of your own sofa.

I'll pop together an updated list of earning methods later, I haven't had coffee yet Grin

All new joiners are welcome Smile

Does anyone get to work more than one long term project at a time on Appen? I am now working Truckee which is a max of an hour a day, but have capacity to do more. I have applied for others but nothing yet.

Bemystarlord · 18/07/2019 07:42

@m00rfarm its really straightforward, i finished in under an hour. You basically just read stuff and agree to it and then have a practice sending 5 messages.

pisspants · 18/07/2019 08:12

hi everyone I have been lurking on this thread for a while and want to say thank you as have really managed to get myself out of a bit of a bind as have started earning a little bit here and there. I have made over £60 in the last 6 weeks from surveys, have passed the crip screening test and am on the waiting list and have finally taken the plunge with matched betting. I am currently £50 up on that having started with £25 just over 2 weeks ago so really chuffed with that.
I started the appen fletcher task over the weekend and did 300 recordings/transcriptions before realising I'd never complete it. Do you think theres any chance I will get payment for part completion? Gutted as probably spent about 3 hours doing it - wish I had stopped sooner if I wont get paid!
I am considering online English teaching too and am at interview stage with one company I just have to read the preparation stuff and then record a session. That looks like it could be a good earner - $15-$18 an hour which is pretty decent. The only trouble is you have to take on a 3 month contract so am waiting a bit on it as am away for a week in a couple of weeks.
This is all really making me see how counting the pennies looks after the pounds as they say! And is making me value each £ more now!

Buster27 · 18/07/2019 08:33

@pisspants - I've done Fletcher (though not been paid yet), and I did read that if less than 70% of the recordings are accepted you may get a lower payment, so it is possible you would get part payment assuming you can submit what you've done. I don't know for sure though, maybe someone else can advise.

TheLolaMontez · 18/07/2019 09:57

Hello everyone, been a bit awol the last week or so as I had a hen do in Barcelona over the weekend (fri-mon). It was so good but definitely need to get back on the money making!

A Noyo (appen) question also, I have been paid via payoneer but only $2 when it says in my e-mail $5 - if that's their commission it's hardly worth doing! Does anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks

CatHopeful · 18/07/2019 10:10

Crisp was very slow for me this morning, which is annoying as it's my only time to do it today.

3dogsnorth · 18/07/2019 10:26

Regarding Truckee on Appen. Is anyone on here doing it? If so can you tell me if you've to do all 20 ads in one go or a bit at a time over the day? I like this one so far (day 2). Better than Fletcher. Once I've finished the batch don't think I'll do it again!

m00rfarm · 18/07/2019 10:53

I did the training for CLoudworker but really not sure whether it is for me or not. I did the tests and hated 2 of the people immediately and felt sorry for the other 3

Bellasblankexpression · 18/07/2019 11:10

Posted on the wrong thread by mistake!
Can I join? I'm a freelance social media manager and writer but work is thin on the ground and I'm trying to earn extra pennies before I go on maternity next year!
I did the crisp entrance test, but didn't see a score?! Where does it usually come up? Hopefully I wasn't so bad I didn't get one Grin

This is a great thread, really motivating

Bellasblankexpression · 18/07/2019 11:11

Also, everyone mentioned a score out of 20 but the test I did had 31 questions...

Wolfff · 18/07/2019 12:37

3dogsnorth I read somewhere that you should do it in one go. I agree this is a lot easier than the recording one. Only taking me about 40 mins. I have the same one 4 times on both days, not sure if I should rate again just wrote more or less but slightly different wording.

Wolfff · 18/07/2019 12:39

bella they send the score in a separate email. The actual rated questions are 20, the rest is demographics.

Bellasblankexpression · 18/07/2019 13:06

thanks @wolfff I thought I was going mad.
I applied to Appen this morning and got accepted - not sure whether it's worth it though, a lot of the projects look like the qualification stages can take hours!
Not sure how to work out which projects are best either.

ScatteredMama82 · 18/07/2019 13:07

ooh I'm loving this! I've earned nearly £40 on prolific so far. I'm doing micro-tasks on Appen and have also submitted an application to be a 'rater' so we'll see how that works. This is my first week on Appen so no money made yet.

I did the crisp test and got 19 so I'm waiting to see if hear anything from them too. I can only day an hour (2 at most) a day so I need to be careful not to sign up to too much.

Can I just ask though, do you do any tax or anything on what you are earning? I also have a day job. I used to have my own business and let property so tax returns don't scare me but it's a while since I did one!

Bellasblankexpression · 18/07/2019 13:11

I also had another question, sorry! (I'm going to try and find some other sites i used to use for transcription and pass them on if they're still going) - with Fletcher for example, how do you work out what the total payment will be? Or do you only find that out after qualifying?
I'm a bit confused by Appen, as you can tell...

justtheonethen · 18/07/2019 13:11

Ooh I've been invited to do the training for the shift work on crisp. I'm thrilled!

Wolfff · 18/07/2019 13:29

bella I am on Appen connect (are you on that one or Appen global? ). I would just pick every project you are eligible for and they will contact you eventually. I picked up Noyo which is very short and Fletcher straight away - it states the payment rate on the main page next to it - and now on Truckee. The latter is only an hour max a day though.

Bellasblankexpression · 18/07/2019 13:30

erm...oh god, I have no idea! I used the referral link in one of the OPs on these threads...I'll check what my email says.
Okay great, that's really useful. The webpage with the projects kept refreshing when I was trying to look at it and some of them wouldn't load properly which was making it difficult to work out where the info was.
I'll try again later. Fletcher sounds pretty monstrous volume wise so nice work on completing that!

ScatteredMama82 · 18/07/2019 13:34

@Bellasblankexpression I am on Appen global for 'micro tasks' and have just applied to Appen connect where the longer term stuff seems to be. It's all very confusing to be honest!

Bellasblankexpression · 18/07/2019 13:38

It is! I'm on Connect so might check out Global as well for microtasks, is it a different link?

ScatteredMama82 · 18/07/2019 13:46

Try this and click on 'micro tasks'. So far it's all recording tasks I'm assigned to. appen.com/careers/

Wolfff · 18/07/2019 13:47

bella google and it will take you there. I spent over 9 hours on Fletcher for $50. Noy worth it unless you are really desperate.

Bellasblankexpression · 18/07/2019 13:49

Thanks @Wolfff that's what I thought when I first looked at it - they're seriously getting their money's worth there and some aren't they?!

thanks @scatteredmama82

Wolfff · 18/07/2019 13:50

I signed up to Global last Saturday and have just been offered another recording project, 202 which seems a lot easier.

ShinyButtons · 18/07/2019 13:51

Ohh @justtheonethen that's exciting. Grin how long have you been on there? I feel slightly envious when everyone anounces they're there for shifts lol
