I can't believe this has been going for nearly half a year!

As always, everyone is welcome to join us in earning an extra £10 a day Smile

There's hundreds of ways to manage this, but here is a list of some of the sites that are discussed frequently, and know caused some confusion for our new joiners last time.

Appen - a contracting website that offers a wide variety of work from social media evaluation, to voice based work. Please do not sign up to the Appen site you google, use this link, or you won't register correctly and you'll waste time waiting for projects that won't come your way.

https://connect.appen.com/qrp/public/jobs?uref=c48139fc0a25bae5d07c634d0a043f5b

(Full disclosure, that's my referral code and I get $25 if you are accepted and work for Appen for 150 hours, if anyone else would like to post their referral code feel free)

Axie Infinity - A crypto currency based game, the idea being that you breed 'creatures' battle them, then sell them on for profit to other gamers. Money can also be made through people renting land from you, or using your Axie to breed with theirs.

Leapforce - was Leapforce, now Appen.

Cloudworkers - Saucy chat site that pays per message.

Crisp - online website moderation, more information can be found here - https://survey.crispthinking.com/risk-analyst. There may also be references to the dashboard, Klipfolio and atlassian and slack, which are all tools used by crisp.

LionBridge - similar to Appen.

@anxiouswaiting good luck with both. I'm still waiting for Crisp (fingers crossed). I also got invited to do Fletcher EU.

anxiouswaiting · 25/06/2019 13:23

@Blessthekids I have done the test, only 10 questions. I have no idea how I did though as it doesn't seem to tell you if you pass or not, it has just gone back to being 'in progress'.

Otterses · 25/06/2019 13:25

Same @Blessthekids Smile I need to do the test when DS goes for a nap. Seems nice and short though!

@Bemystarlord was it Skype or voice or text? (Cloudworkers training)

Please feedback what it's like and if it's worth doing! Thanks

Bemystarlord · 25/06/2019 14:05

@whatthewhatthewhat it was skype text just reading and agreeing to the instructions. All pretty straight forward then put on the love platform to do five test messages and that was it.

Seems fine so far, done an hour or so to get the hang of it and is pretty easy. I can imagine it could get pretty boring but its some money!

Bemystarlord · 25/06/2019 15:16

The Fletcher EU test was pretty straightforward. Im just confused because the guidlines were for editing transcriptions but the work that has loaded is writing from scratch and I'm not sure whether you should write anything infront of what is said or where to start writing it as thats not in the guidelines! So frustrating!

anxiouswaiting · 25/06/2019 15:29

@Bemystarlord when you did your test did it tell you straight away that you passed or did it go back into the in progress stage?

So is it an audio file and a blank box to transcribe into then?

Blessthekids · 25/06/2019 15:37

Yep just done the test and lets see what happens. I will of course be happy if they offered me work but it does seem a bit dull! Fingers crossed nevertheless!

Otterses · 25/06/2019 15:54

NO!

Please don't tell me this is bloody Portal related Angry!

OP posts:
Bemystarlord · 25/06/2019 15:59

@Otterses its transcribing what people have said to the portal.

@anxiouswaiting i got an email straight after. The box if populated with some details about the prompt and some codes.

Otterses · 25/06/2019 16:12

😂 oh dear @Bemystarlord.

Can I be nosey and ask if it's paid per item or is it actually hourly?

OP posts:
Bemystarlord · 25/06/2019 16:17

@Otterses they have really not been very clear about it but i think its per batch which is around 90 prompts and they think you can do that in an hour but theres no way at the minute i can do that many so quickly!

anxiouswaiting · 25/06/2019 16:37

@Bemystarlord I am guessing I must have failed then.

90 in an hour is crazy for what they are asking you to do!

Otterses · 25/06/2019 16:39

@anxiouswaiting did you get redirected to a screen where you had to 'sign' and give your password? That's where it left me Confused it's still in my projects tab.

OP posts:
anxiouswaiting · 25/06/2019 16:43

@otterses yes that's what I got. Now it is sitting in my in progress page but the 'view status'button is gone

Otterses · 25/06/2019 16:44

Snap @anxiouswaiting

Ah well Grin see what happens I guess. No need is good news.

OP posts:
Bemystarlord · 25/06/2019 16:49

Yes thats what mine did and then when i’d had an email that link is activated and goes through to ampersands to do the work.

SorryDidISayThatOutLoud · 25/06/2019 16:56

I'm doing my Crisp training now. I'm terrified!!! ARGHHHHHH

FloofenHoofen · 25/06/2019 17:04

Wooooo! This it going to be kind of outing for anyone else that's on this project. But I've been promoted to Quality Assurance Checker on Fletcher! I've only done 2 hours worth of work, but scored 97% total.

I'm quite impressed with myself as I was sure I'd totally gone wrong!

FloofenHoofen · 25/06/2019 17:11

Bemystarlord is this for Fletcher STXM? I understand what you're saying re the 90 tasks per hour. Some are impossible to actually type out that quick. What I found was if you manage to get a batch where the text is already written out in-between the [TX] box, you can simply copy and paste then amend as you go. Saves about half an hour.

Blessthekids · 25/06/2019 17:17

@SorryDidISayThatOutLoud good luck, I'm really hoping me and the others hear soon.

Blessthekids · 25/06/2019 17:21

@Bemystarlord, I'm a half decent typist but that seems quite a lot to do in an hour.

Otterses · 25/06/2019 17:30

@FloofenHoofen WOOOT! Well done Grin is that checking the dodgy voice work or the transcriptions?

You should be bloody chuffed to bits with yourself though. I hope it comes with a hefty pay rise!

OP posts:
Bemystarlord · 25/06/2019 17:53

@FloofenHoofen congrats thats great news, well done you :)

Sadly not had any written up already but will bare that tip in mind thank you :) so should i be writing inside the [TXT] bit or after do you know?

Blessthekids · 25/06/2019 18:05

@FloofenHoofen wow well done.

I was thinking that I feel sorry for the person who has to transcribe some of the nonsense I said, it was bad enough for me!
