Does anybody know if the article about Valentus is going to be in the Sunday Times this week?

gotmychocolateimgood · 31/05/2019 20:07

Broke is so broke, he's back with his ex again.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 31/05/2019 20:48

Yeah, but this time it's different. He's learnt from his past mistakes and it's now the real deal forever.

Oh wait- isn't that what he says about each new pyramid scheme he jumps into?

Fables1003 · 31/05/2019 21:03

The valentus article will be in this Sunday Times and also on their FB page and website.

BSintolerant · 31/05/2019 21:18

The Anti MLM Coalition have published an extract of a blog post written by someone who had the good sense to escape from one of the MLM cults which was featured in the BBC documentary. Thankfully she realised quickly what she’d got herself into and had the balls to get out before she lost too much money. The whole post is here if you want to read it in full:

www.lindabeautyandlifestyle.com/positivity

This bit doesn’t surprise me:

“I also discovered online that there were other MLM companies where the uplines who were higher up in the pyramid were part of private social media groups where they shared (in absolute secrecy) tips and tricks on how to dupe their downlines. Honestly it makes me sick to the core how deep the deception runs.”

Well done for sharing your story. You’ll help a lot of others who are caught up in the weird culty world of MLMs.

Good work Mumsnet HQ ..... a thread about making extra income as a travel agent (Inteletravel I think) was zapped within minutes. I reported it after being the second person to respond (first poster also called MLM) and it went.

Good to see that there's no tolerance for rip-off MLMs preying on Mners!

Twentytwentyhindsight · 31/05/2019 22:13

Inteletravel barely makes it to the junk status of MLM, it's pretty much a straight up Ponzi scheme.

Well done MN.

JaniceBattersby · 01/06/2019 00:04

Pretty much all of my FL bots have changed their personal profiles to private in the past couple of weeks. Obviously been som edict from on high. It’s a brave move considering most of their new bots must come from social media.

Their business pages are dull and very unlikely to lure in new bots. Exposing your whole life on FB is the price you pay for being a multiple six-figure earning global business coach, I’m afraid.

Norma27 · 01/06/2019 08:29

Some more amazing product placement by receipt bot this time. So transparent and so cringeworthy.

acatcalledjohn · 01/06/2019 10:00

It's all kicking off on FB groups. Looks like Sacked by Ariix/Cupcake bot has told her downlines to attack MLM Lies Exposed.

I've completed a number of bingo cards already.

Less savoury is the utter Mermology cunt who has threatened to dox the OP of the post for no good reason.

If you decide to go there: two of the huns can be reported to FB for using fake names.

Whiterangey · 01/06/2019 11:34

Can't see any of those posts on mlm lies. Must have been deleted.

The blog was interesting. I am glad that the documentary helped although I was rooting for her upline to see the light as well.

acatcalledjohn · 01/06/2019 11:48

Yeah, it has been deleted. In a way a shame, because it shows those huns for the brainwashed bullies they really are.

I keep getting distracted here so will read the article in full later. Looks promising though.

Jigsawpuzzle · 01/06/2019 12:22

Just saw on Uber’s page some bot gushing about promotion and there is a photo of some event where they recommend products for teachers gifts. Hope my DD and her DH don’t get any in Thailand as the students come from all over the world.
On that note it will be interesting to see the position of MLMs at fairs.

gotmychocolateimgood · 01/06/2019 13:50

Pretty good article I think!

Whiterangey · 01/06/2019 13:51

I found the quotes from the MLM's and the DSA interesting.

All about how most of their bots don't experience problems and how bots can be reported. Forever Living rely on bots telling them that they have sold 75% of that they have bought before buying more. Of course they tell the truth and aren't buying now they cannot sell to get the promotion or cheque or whatever.

dickiedavisthunderthighs · 01/06/2019 21:57

Just watched Yawn's video and I'm wondering whether engaged Head Office in some light blackmail after the Rally. She's been there long enough to know where the bodies are buried and wouldn't have a lot to lose from jumping ship and letting slip a few secrets...

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 01/06/2019 22:43

There's certainly something fishy about someone not even getting a piddly cheque in Stockholm yet still qualifying as an Eagle Manager with a free trip to Thailand. Hmm

Twentytwentyhindsight · 01/06/2019 22:50

TBH, I wouldn't see it as much of an "amazing, amazing incentive". I'm not even sure I'd take it up.

3 days of enforced training & group activities while jet lagged, sandwiched between two full days of travelling.

It's the sort of gig I'd consider turning down as a freelancer, even though I would actually be paid good money to be there, as well as travel, accommodation and meals...

If I was doing it as an employee (also being paid to be there), it's one I'd seriously moan about.

The fact that they are 'blown over' and 'grateful' says a lot, really.

CherryCheezcake · 01/06/2019 23:23

I thought the Guardian article was good - they've published responses from the companies and DSA, but in such a way that it's clear they don't believe them

Fables1003 · 02/06/2019 00:58

Valentus article has been published in the Sunday Times. Its currently Only available to view if you have a subscription to the paper, but I am told the full article will feature on their Facebook page at some point tomorrow and can be shared from there.

gotmychocolateimgood · 02/06/2019 07:24

Do you think FL HQ deliberately placed next year's global rally and this Eagle retreat in far flung places to capitalise on the jet lag effect for the failing UK bots, thus increasing the effects of the brainwashing? We all know that humans are more suggestible when exhausted. And hungry.

StrongTeaDropOfMilkNoSugar · 02/06/2019 09:01

The Sunday Times article has been published and shared on their Facebook page. You can sign up to read a free article without having to pay the subscription.
