This thread will be one big joke watching party Gin

leasedaudi · 18/04/2019 14:05

*home watching party, though it will be a joke too!

9dartfinish2nd · 18/04/2019 14:07

The MLM equivalent of the Eurovision song contest. Grin

fromdownwest · 18/04/2019 14:09

Do you think that the cheques for the 1% may be 'boosted' to save face?

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 18/04/2019 14:10

Hmmm...I thought Roomie may have got out too but it seems not.

She seems to have added another "instant qualification/title" string to her bow though.

First of all it was business owner/business coach type titles (forking out £200 for a FL start-up box seems to automatically give you this), then it was "best selling author" (paying someone to publish your book gives you this title).

Now, rather worryingly after only a weeks coaching/training, she seems to be dabbling with helping people overcome past trauma for a mere £650 for 5 hours "life changing experience" Hmm Shock.

So does the £650 cover a carton of aloe thrown in for good measure to hook in the client and recruit them whilst they're at their most vulnerable?

UnapologeticallyUnhinged · 18/04/2019 14:36

I'm more excited for this BBC doc than GoT and Killing Eve combined!

leasedaudi · 18/04/2019 14:37

I think it's abhorrent that Roomie is charging that sort of money for completely unqualified counselling, to people who are vulnerable. You could get six sessions with a psychologist or more with a qualified counsellor for that.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 18/04/2019 14:55

I'm sure my former live in bot, for whom I was never apparently supportive enough, never imagined the day would come where watching an FLP event would be on my agenda! Not only that, the last Global Rally (and running commentary on this thread) was a minor highlight of my year!

UnapologeticallyUnhinged · 18/04/2019 15:03

Funny isn't it Twenty?!

Twentytwentyhindsight · 18/04/2019 15:16

Bittersweet, Unapologetically. If I didn't laugh I'd cry.

EL2019 · 18/04/2019 15:18

I was approached by a FL a while ago. It was the middle of the rescission and I’d been made redundant as was finding it really hard to find a new job as no one was hiring in my field.

This FL guy found my CV on one of the jobs boards I’d posted on (think it was Indeed) and contacted me. I thought it was a real job so arranged to meet him. He really hard-sold me joining up. But I couldn’t work out how I could make a full time wage selling product. I did the sums and realised I’d have to sell a massive amount to get even minimum wage and I couldn’t see that happening. Like where was I even going to store it all? He talked about recruiting, but I have had previous experience of being hassled by Virgin Vie reps (remember them?) and getting really pissed off with it. I didn’t want to be that person to my friends.

I told him I’d recently been to some local craft fairs and they’d been at least 2 FL reps at each one. He tried to convince me that the market wasn’t saturated as not all my friends regularly used the products so there was loads of potential for growth.

As it happened I had bad eczema at the time and my mum had just bought me an FL gift box. The guy was claiming the juice and creams cured eczema and I was telling him in my experience they didn’t. In addition the shampoo and conditioner really dried my hair out (my hairdresser knew the second she touched my hair that I’d changed product and told me it wasn’t doing my hair any favours). Also I’d looked at the ingredients in the creams and they contained parabens.
We had a few email exchanges where he tried to convince me parabens are ok, and he phoned me a few times to talk about “the opportunity” but eventually left me alone.

I think what annoyed me was that I was in a vulnerable place. I needed a job and I was targeted because of that. It would have left me worse off. I just kept saying “This doesn’t make sense”. At the time so wondered if so was making a mistake because he seemed so convinced. I’m so glad now so didn’t get sucked in.

EL2019 · 18/04/2019 15:30

Typos in last para “so” should read “I”. Not sure how I managed that!

BSintolerant · 18/04/2019 15:36

Home watching party my arse! Let's just call it a wake, shall we? Grin

Killing Vera is more fun than Killing Eve.

Well done @EL2019. At worst, you saved yourself £200 and your self esteem, at best you avoided years of misery.

Hate the way those bastards deliberately prey on people in need.

BSintolerant · 18/04/2019 15:49

@EL2019 Thank goodness you didn't get sucked in. Did you report this CF to the job site? I wonder if they have rules against MLM reps masquerading as employers to stop them wasting your precious time and money?

I am particularly also looking forward to the uk slipping down the rankings - let's see the spin begin!

gotmychocolateimgood · 18/04/2019 16:59

@Twentytwentyhindsight is your ex still operating as a bot? I really feel for you going through all that crap. Hope you are managing to move on with life now you've separated - it must be such a relief to escape all the bullshit.

EL2019 · 18/04/2019 17:05

You know it never occurred to me to report it. Wish I had now.

Just remembered, another reason he targeted me was that I’d previously worked for a pharmaceutical company and that would help me sell FL as I’d have “credibility” that it works. I wasn’t a scientist, I was in a support function!

Twentytwentyhindsight · 18/04/2019 18:20

Not sure TBH chocolate. As I've said earlier, she can now no longer kid herself that she could live on botting alone.

Having to pay rent and other expenses means she has now got a JOB doing something she enjoys, although it means working evenings & weekends and not seeing much of the kids.

As for the FLP shite, it is something we do not mention. My guess is that she feels she has had to put it on the back burner while she deals with the change in circumstances. I believe she is still her own best customer, not sure if she is consuming more to compensate for the crap the kids are no longer forced to ingest.

Whatever her actual relationship to FLP atm, there is no realisation of the reality of MLM, I think she feels that the failure of it to provide what she gave up so much for is not down to it being a con, but to her own circumstances (negative influences from me and whatever personal failings her mindset coaches have convinced her she is guilty of). With any luck, she is just drifting away from it.

Shame, because she enjoys what she is now doing, and would enjoy it even more if she could face the reality of the MLM scam and draw a line under it, rather than look for blame elsewhere.

gotmychocolateimgood · 18/04/2019 18:49

Thanks Twenty for sharing this Brew

gotmychocolateimgood · 18/04/2019 19:20

There's a newly recruited FL bot that Bruv and more recently (just now) Castle have tagged as making loads of profit. Has been mentioned on this thread {number 47) previously. I'm now wondering if he's been boosted to inspire newbies?

Tupperwarelid · 18/04/2019 19:43

He does seem to be the new golden boy/bot

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 18/04/2019 19:47

Interesting comments from one of his friends on his post sharing the B&W film of the weekend team event Grin

Twentytwentyhindsight · 18/04/2019 20:05

Sleaze will soon be rising like a thumb-shaped Phoenix from the ashes, apparently.

Wonder what has rekindled his love for low-rent Ponzi schemes after his short-lived 'I'm out' post last week?

SnoogyWoo · 18/04/2019 20:07

Nurse bot is having a pamper evening tonight. Is this a recruiting thing?
