How can I find nurse bot?

SaucySausageSandwiches · 27/04/2019 07:58

Does anyone know what time the BBC documentary goes up today?

Jonsey32 · 27/04/2019 07:59

10am I think!

SaucySausageSandwiches · 27/04/2019 08:08

Perfect! Thank you

Norma27 · 27/04/2019 09:00

1 hour to go! I am going to have to catch up this afternoon as my daughter has a party to go to at 10.
Pesky kids!!

gotmychocolateimgood · 27/04/2019 09:00

Feeling a bit silly after trying to get my Bt box to record the documentary. Realised bbc3 is now online. I'll be out from 9.30 until 12pm today, when I get back can I watch it straight away online or do I have to wait for iplayer?

Whiterangey · 27/04/2019 09:07

I'm feeling lucky. The first Saturday in ages I've got nothing planned until 2pm. I don't think I could handle the suspense of waiting.

At least it's not an Avengers Endgame situation where if you've seen the movie you don't mention anything about it.

SaucySausageSandwiches · 27/04/2019 09:19

It’s available to watch now here www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p076n2hg

Spongebobette · 27/04/2019 09:44

Can’t watch till tonight grrrrr

LoopyGremlin · 27/04/2019 10:26

Just watching it now. Very interesting viewing and hopefully will discourage people from these MLMs.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 27/04/2019 10:54

Watching it now ...not surprised to see Worcester getting a mention (a mums group getting backlash from banning MLMs) as it's rife around there

gotmychocolateimgood · 27/04/2019 11:10

Thank you so much hun!!!! Eeeeeek so excited (and slightly overinvested) 😁👌💕

Whiterangey · 27/04/2019 11:13

First of all, Lyndsay who got out of Younique is hair goals, not sure if natural or dyed but hair would be that colour if I stopped the dye so I'm going to do that.

I thought it was good, glad names were mentioned and although the younique owners were blurred its not difficult to work out who they are so we shall see if younique stick to their dismissing them policy.

I think it would have been better as a series, but for the time she had she did very very well.

The bit on cults was good to see. The £500 to replace her products was good.

I wonder what is going on behind the scenes with Nu Skin and Younique top bots with regards to damage limitation.

DownThePan · 27/04/2019 11:58

I found the earnings potential breakdown excellent - perhaps that will be a wake-up call for bots that are not earning much, especially when combined with the bit about not airing your doubts about the business.

Whiterangey · 27/04/2019 12:20

The comment about having no food because they were told that if they put the money in they would get so much more it was very powerful.

Obviously a good outcome would be some boys leaving and lots of people not signing up. What would be a great outcome would be if something was done to change the law to stop these companies being able to operate. Even if they had to make everyone who was about to sign up aware of the percentages of earning anything would be a start.

Before you hit the join button a you are met with a warning of what your chances of earning anything at all are before you can continue with sign up.

Just anything put into law to stop so many women falling victim to mlms would be a dream come true.

Fables103 · 27/04/2019 12:21

I'm really pleased there is a more negative angle on the doc. I was concerned it would be be a bit too balanced, but no. Points made vert well in my opinion.

Mielabel · 27/04/2019 12:23

I have to say the documentary was a lot better than I expected (I worried they would have to show neutrality more and it would lack any punch). I actually felt quite emotional watching it as I lost years of my post-uni life to MLM that I could have spent growing a career and instead got in loads of debt and anxiety issues chasing dreams that never happened. I wish I had the guts to post this documentary on my social media profiles now but I still have so many friends and family in MLMs.

I really hope this is a start of a huge backlash- and perhaps a realisation of the huge amount of money that can be made (by legitimate businesses) opening up flexible roles for women and new mums- something that is desperately needed and is the very problem MLMs have fed on.

Watching all this brought back memories of how I felt trying to portray myself as a successful influencer on Instagram and FB when I was so poor I was going without food, too scared to give up incase success was just round the corner, cringing when firing myself to message old school friends (still cringe)!

Wish I could help in some way.

acatcalledjohn · 27/04/2019 12:28

The NuSkin training videos (I'm looking at you Leicester Bot) are damning. Money is from recruitment and, in Leicester Bot's words, target people's weak points.

I have been here for some time and I'm shocked.

fromdownwest · 27/04/2019 12:35

I didn’t realise - but FL looks like NuSkin and Younique’s poor relative

Whiterangey · 27/04/2019 12:57

That's why FL wouldn't have been a good company to target. Youniques empower you event that wad down had 2000 attendees. FL events are struggling to get 500 for the huge events. Shows the huge decline in FL. The same will happen to younique and nu skin.

Ellie Flynn has made other documentaries, including one on child brides, one on DeX for rent, and one on dodgy botox.

She mentioned that during research she has never had as many people too scared to talk to her as she did on this one. That says a hell of a lot. Women who have 'only' joined and then left beauty product selling mlms are too frightened to talk about their experiences. To scared about what they may experience from others if they do.

The three people who talked about their experiences are amazing, it cannot be said enough. Without them the documentary would not have the same impact. No way they failed at mlm because of their mindset.

Norma27 · 27/04/2019 13:24

I was impressed after watching that documentary. So pleased it is going to be shown on bbc1

Singlebutmarried · 27/04/2019 14:15

Hi all 👋

New to this particular board.

I’ve been asked to ‘present’, my response was. I don’t wear fecking make up so why would I want to sell it 😂

Sadly a friend has been sucked in and is all morninginspiration. Just worried she’s going to come a cropper.

Jb291 · 27/04/2019 14:39

Brilliant documentary and it gives a stark real picture of what is going on with MLM companies. Lets hope it helps vulnerable people become more aware of the tactics used to groom and recruit them and helps those people to avoid becoming victims of these dreadful companies

Jigsawpuzzle · 27/04/2019 14:56

I watched this and was saddened that they target so many new mums when they should be bonding with their babies. I would have been classed as vulnerable as my mother died 3 days before daughters birth followed 18 months later with a miscarriage at 15 weeks.
Retired now and daughter and son now in good careers so unlikely to be a target.
Am I right in assuming that many will be on benefits as I understand that is another ball game to deal with.
