Hi all, popping back in to say May was my worst month for profits since my first few months, only £750. Would have been over £1k though, purely my own fault got stuck chasing blackjack losses using Martingale (Google then NEVER DO IT) and lost hundreds. Lesson learned! However I have still made it passed £13k profit to date :)

mushforbrain · 05/06/2019 13:47

I’m ready to use my free bets at Ladbrokes however they are telling me that I have 6 free odds boosts? Should I use these and is it straightforward? Have found a brief guide on OM but would like some MN reassurance!

bluemumsbluedog · 05/06/2019 16:35

@mushforbrain you a hould gain a little extra profit from the boosts on a free bet, adjust your calculator so you know how much to lay with new odds.
This also works to bring down qualifying loss on trigger bet.

Has anyone tried any of the other methods of making money on www.sidegigjunction.com? I got into Matched Betting through them and wondered if anybody else has tried any of their other methods such as Sports arbitrage betting or sports trading?

I would be interested to hear from people.

Thanks
Vx

Gammeldragz · 06/06/2019 10:28

Vanessa I'd imagine sports arbitrage is just arbing, which may get your accounts gubbed (fine to do an already gubbed or just rubbish ones). Sports trading really requires several screens, a lot of time and knowledge as the odds move fast and I imagine there will be a lot of ups and downs. I think Oddsmonkey forum has a section on it, if you're on there.

Gammeldragz · 06/06/2019 10:29

Golden goal tonight on the England match :)

hsegfiugseskufh · 06/06/2019 12:38

can I join?! I am hearing a lot about matched betting and want to give it a go - can anyone point me in the direction of where to start?

is it really as easy as it seems?!

GoodBoyGhost · 06/06/2019 17:42

Hey guys, I'm really interested in giving this a go. Where is a good place to start? TIA!

GoodBoyGhost · 06/06/2019 18:38

Also, do I have a hope in hell of succeeding at this if I'm completely shit with numbers?

Gammeldragz · 06/06/2019 18:46

Join Team Profit, it's free. They have guides and videos and stuff. Also Save the student website has a guide. Spend a good few days researching it all before you start.
Oddsmonkey is well worth the £17.99 a month, but definitely try the free sites for a few offers first.
Maths skills are not required as long as you understand what you're doing and why. They do help though!

GoodBoyGhost · 06/06/2019 19:14

I've read the info on profit accumulator and I've got as far as opening accounts with coral and Betfair. I've placed opposing bets on a football match this evening.

But I'm a bit confused, Coral says I'll get £20 in free bets but Betfair doesn't offer that. Is that right? How does that work if I have to pay for bets on Betfair?

titchy · 06/06/2019 19:19

You won't pay as much for your Betfair bets as you're given in free bets. Essentially your free £20 from Coral will gain you £x amount at Coral if the bet wins, but your liability at Betfair will be less, so the difference (aim for £16) is your profit. You'd typically lay £16 at Betfair, so if your free bet loses you'll get the lay bet at Betfair back. As long as you use the calculator properly!

YesQueen · 08/06/2019 23:33

£173 profit for me today after a slow week. Did the tombola signup and then the quinnbet offer (£25 for 5 spins)

Chickencellar · 09/06/2019 10:08

Been looking at this for a while , do you all use separate accounts ? I've looked at Monzo , also does anyone use a credit card ?

lannister · 09/06/2019 16:24

@Chickencellar I have never used a credit card just use one normal bank account

QIsForCube · 12/06/2019 15:04

Hi everyone!

New to this. I’m following the OddsMonkey guide. I’ve understood everything so far but I’m now at the point of placing my qualifying bet.

The guide says to stick to betting on football matches that have a rating of 95% or above. However, the highest is 93.75% and they’re all for obscure foreign clubs no one has heard of, which is apparently a sure-fire way to get gubbed! Any idea what I should be doing?

QIsForCube · 12/06/2019 15:09

Another thing,
It seems to have been suggested to have a large ‘float’ to begin with. Do I deposit this into my Coral or Betfair account? I’ve deposited £10 so far.

Flyinggeese · 12/06/2019 15:22

QI no need to bet on obscure games, the Women’s World Cup is on at the moment.

Flyinggeese · 12/06/2019 15:24

Also I don’t keep any money with bookies’ sites, just in the exchange. Agree you do need a float though, the larger the float the quicker you can make profits.

QIsForCube · 12/06/2019 15:45

That’s what I thought. But as I said, the highest rating on Coral is 93.75% Confused

QIsForCube · 12/06/2019 15:55

I’m on the OddsMonkey tutorial. It says to open the Oddsmatcher and that the results have been “pre-filtered to show football and horse racing odds at 1.5 and over.”

However when I click on this link the majority of it is tennis matches Confused. There’s no football above 95%. Am I doing something wrong?

titchy · 12/06/2019 16:43

It's not the football season that's why!

titchy · 12/06/2019 16:44

Horse racing is fine though.

Flyinggeese · 12/06/2019 18:17

I don’t use Odds Monkey so cant advise on that.

Flyinggeese · 12/06/2019 18:18

Sorry I meant I don’t know what the % ratings relate to.
