The continuing crusade to expose the underhand tactics used to lure (mainly) women into exploitative schemes using the lure of 'financial independence'.

Just saw Barn(nota)bots response to one of his comments on there. It's what she said about the air miles. I can't stop laughing.

SSDGM · 24/02/2019 18:59

I can’t figure out what his point is at all. Is he defending Revital-U?

Norma27 · 24/02/2019 20:22

Yawn making income claims.
Apparently you can make 2k per month working in your pockets of time.
Then we get told how hard you have to work to make it work. Fucking con artists

Whiterangey · 25/02/2019 08:28

What she means is that she wants to recruit people so SHE can have an extra £2000 per month as she is going broke and needs all the money she can scam out of people.

Spongebobette · 25/02/2019 09:35

One of her new minions are doing pamper evenings, 9 quid for a face mask and a couple of glasses of wine and nibbles

Another minion is selling the masks for 10 quid each

The first bot isn’t making any money out of that is she?

Whiterangey · 25/02/2019 10:51

None of the bots are making any money. I'm guessing she tells them the masks will go quickly so they should buy in a supply of them. Yawn makes money from them buying them but the bots can't sell themas nobody wants them.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 25/02/2019 11:10

One of the subtle fallacies peddled by MLMs about 'teams' is that you're all in it together as your upline will benefit from your sales, and therefore has an interest in you doing well.

The truth is that it's the dowlines' purchases that the upline makes money from. Once the money goes out of your pocket, it goes into theirs.

It doesn't matter a f*ck to them whether you manage to sell it at a profit, at cost, or at a loss, or whether it ends up in your garage, down the drain or you consume it. Their money has been made.

You are the customer.

Some interesting formatting in my previous post, not all of it mine...

Those face masks are £51 for 5 if a normal person were to purchase them. So the boys must have already bought them.

Whiterangey · 25/02/2019 18:49

Castles sisters doll accounts are online. They made a loss again. Most be why they are closing.

Whiterangey · 25/02/2019 21:21

My predictive texting absolutely sucks.

Tax bill Bot has a long post on how she has never looked back since leaving her job at John Lewis to embrace the full-time hun life, and urges others to do the same.

Strangely, she forgets to mention that her company has been in liquidation since 2017, and still owes HMRC £115k...

Interesting article in today's Daily Mirror, this site gets a mention.

www.mirror.co.uk/money/pyramid-scheme-scammers-targeting-stay-14021561

Overall good article but I guess the comments from the DSA will be a bit of a talking point.
A number of the major MLM players who the fingers are now pointing at are already members of the DSA

dsa.org.uk/member-directory/

UmBankroll · 26/02/2019 16:47

@9dartfinish2nd Yes the DSA thing is misleading... when the bot family were desperately trying to get me to sign up they bombarded me with all their ‘incredible business opportunity’ joining presentations, and there was a whole section in one particular pdf on ‘How to respond when a possible recruit asks if it is a pyramid scheme’.

Their standard issue answer was something along the lines of ‘Well we are members of the DSA so that means we are regulated. Pyramid schemes are illegal in the UK and we wouldn’t be allowed to operate if we were one! 💁🏼‍♀️‘

Paddy1234 · 26/02/2019 17:35

Something so not quite right with tax bill bot.
Married, late thirties, no children
Long stint with John Lewis and comes across perfect professional person.
With that background - how the fuck do you rake up £115k unpaid tax bill when at that age with that history you should be completely financially solvent.
So much behind the scenes that no one knows.

Underhiseye2 · 26/02/2019 18:44

What number UK is tax bill bot?

Twentytwentyhindsight · 26/02/2019 19:25

@Underhiseye2 - number 12 this year.
Her company records at companies house make interesting reading.

OP posts:
Norma27 · 26/02/2019 19:25

Tax bill bot is number 13.
I was very surprised to see number 11 is a few years younger than me. That aloe shite really is shite!

Norma27 · 26/02/2019 19:25

Sorry 12 not 13

BangingOn · 26/02/2019 19:45

I’m looking at Tax Bill Bot’s accounts on Companies House, it looks as if she is expecting a £10k chairman’s bonus cheque this year. I can only see mention of her owing £53k as a director’s loan though?

Whiterangey · 26/02/2019 19:46

Tax bill bot has said in the insolvency papers that she will pay £500 per month towards paying of the company loan account which will be going to HMRC. She also says she is expecting around £10k in April/May which must be an expected chairman's bonus which she will pay towards the company loan.

I can't find anything where she had said she qualified for Stockholm, let alone that she is getting a cheque. Does anyone know I'd agree qualified for the trip and a bonus?

Twentytwentyhindsight · 26/02/2019 20:07

She's one of the CB qualifiers in Uber's downline that got her to level 3.

Not strictly mlm but similar. I think.

Daily Mail, Mirror also today. Vanessa Ogden Moss. A tale of rags to riches, triumph over tragedy ( very much so, her little boy died of cancer). But then, while sofa surfing because she was homeless, this idea just pinged into her head about ‘helping people’ . And all of a sudden she sets up a Facebook group for weight loss, followed by an entrepreneur course, based on what she learnt online.

According to her, she earns 25k for 3 hours work and can show others how to do the same. This I think is the ‘helping people’.

I just love the complete vagueness of it all. No experience, no explanation as to what she’s going to teach you, nothing about what business she’s going to help you establish.

I don’t get it. Her whole website is just a sales pitch of nothingness which leaves me going ‘But what do you actually DO???’

Twentytwentyhindsight · 26/02/2019 20:17

@BangingOn - HMRC are listed as unsecured creditors to the tune of £115,586.10 in the last liquidator's statement.

OP posts:
BangingOn · 26/02/2019 20:21

Twenty I saw that but then it only specifies a director’s loan for £53k so I guess the rest is other unpaid taxes and fines?
