The continuing crusade to expose the underhand tactics used to lure (mainly) women into exploitative schemes using the lure of 'financial independence'.

I think putting money into pension would save her a hefty chunk of corporation tax

Whiterangey · 10/02/2019 14:45

I'm guessing what she had done with the pension is based on greed and paying less tax.

My dream is for Forever living to pull out if the UK in the same way others have done. I wouldn't be that shocked if that happened. Especially if the BBC documentary paints them in a really bad light.

suedoname · 10/02/2019 15:26

The BBC documentary isn't sure how they'll be approaching it yet.

I've been told they've asked the advice of ex mlm reps who have agreed to feature in the program how it should be shown.

They've suggested to avoid the immediate rank closing cult like behaviour by not going for the jugular. These ex reps want the current reps to watch it and not feel attacked which will lead to defending their decision. They want there to be information that comes across as choice.

Yawn has a screenshot of someone’s earnings on her fb page.
It doesn’t show the currency, and the reply thanking her is from her Hungarian downline.
If it was paid in forints, then it is the equivalent of less than £3.

Oh dear. Doesn’t look like there will be a cheque this year either, unless she’s kept it very quiet.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 10/02/2019 17:43

There won't. My understanding is that, not only did she not qualify for a cheque last year, she didn't even qualify to attend.

She actually paid whatever it cost to fly to Dallas & spend a week in a downtown hotel (plus living expenses) in order to appear successful/remain part of the gang.

How fucked up is that?

spanfan · 10/02/2019 19:47

@norma, unbelievable. I didn't even think of that. I just assumed she'd made it all up. 😂😂

Smoke and mirrors once again.

BangingOn · 10/02/2019 20:46

Twenty that’s actually really sad. I can understand the Bots who have never got to cheque status hoping that one day they might, but those who have built their empire and then fallen so far must be able to see the writing on the wall. Surely?!

Did anyone watch her Live tonight?

Whiterangey · 11/02/2019 08:33

Homeschools live was taking about previous sexual abuse and domestic violence and how you can still be a success despite past trauma. So trying to recruit by getting sympathy for her past.

I feel terrible for her past and she has my sympathy, but using it to try and recruit, especially women who have been through the same is disgusting. That is trying to get to the most vulnerable of women just to make money off them.

Whiterangey · 11/02/2019 08:39

That there are other bots who have shared their stories of previous sexual abuse and/or domestic violence does not surprise me at all. They are vulnerable, especially when it comes to relationships, including the relationship between new the person and the one who recruited them.

Women who have suffered sexual abuse and/or domestic violence would be the best people to target for an mlm. Which is why it doesn't surprise me we hear other stories like this.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 11/02/2019 10:54

And so it begins.....Yawn is trotting off to her BSL course clutching a C9 that she's flogged to someone on the course.

BangingOn · 11/02/2019 11:44

I feel a bit sick. I tried to watch the live after reading White’s post but gave up after 5 mins. It’s uncomfortable viewing, it was desperate and unsettling. The way she stuttered over her multi million pound business claims says it all.

In other news, Welsh Upline’s team are ‘literally on fire’ which apparently is cause for celebration rather than concern.

9dartfinish2nd · 11/02/2019 13:04

@suedoname Whilst I understand the BBC taking this stance, I hope they still intend to call out these companies and those at the top who profit from the minions at the bottom. We know the majority are victims and if this can portrayed in a way that will help some people regain the ability to think critically about their involvement in this industry then great. I also hope they don't give a platform to the 1% bots who do make money and turn it into a stealth recruitment opportunity at the expense of the gullible and vulnerable.

suedoname · 11/02/2019 13:08

@9dartfinish2nd I'm not sure, that would be a huge rinse and repeat on what's available to reps online via pages, groups, blogs, forums and YouTube. It's all out there for them to see should they choose to take notice.

They have focused their questions a lot on the bullying and manipulation by uplines from what I've been told.

CostanzaG · 11/02/2019 13:17

My very vulnerable younger cousin has been groomed by a Younique hunbot I went to school with. I've watched it unfold on Facebook and tried to warn my cousin but she ignored me.....low and behold she invited me to her exciting new make up page this weekend.
I'm absolutely disgusted but can't do anything about it.

Jasmin82 · 11/02/2019 14:09

With regards to my own personal experience with Younique, Within the first few months it was made clear that we could have no excuses for not selling/recruiting/no parties etc because "X made black and look where she lives! Look at that on a map and tell me you can't find people to sell to/recruit." Said person had recently been bragging about the BSR they've been to and the "executive suite" they stayed at. From the photo's, I'd have been disapointed. I've stayed in executive suites, they're generally known for having beds larger than a double.
But they couldn't have been lying, because they'd never do that? Hmm

WhatNow40 · 11/02/2019 14:25

Disappointed to see yet another MLM showcases The Fail, this time Arbonnne. It's a cure for Fibromyalgia apparently. Hmm

I have fibromyalgia and would leap towards anything that had even the slightest shred of inconclusive evidence. My bot friend is Arbonne and I'm glad she knows how I feel and hasn't tried to push this on me. The MLMs always target the vulnerable...

9dartfinish2nd · 11/02/2019 14:28

@suedoname If that's the route they are taking then fair enough.
From this documentary hopefully we will see nothing but bad publicity come from it, and may it help speed up the demise of an industry that has already had it's boom time in the UK and is now in serious decline.

Whiterangey · 11/02/2019 16:00

There is no proof that Yawn sold that c9. She could have grabbed one of the many shes bought to up her cc's or it might be an empty box.

BSintolerant · 11/02/2019 17:25

In other news, Welsh Upline’s team are ‘literally on fire’ which apparently is cause for celebration rather than concern.

Are their pants on fire or are they too honest for that sort of thing?

Underhiseye2 · 11/02/2019 19:46

"this C9 now has a new home", translating as, "that's 1 less C9 in my garage".

spanfan · 11/02/2019 20:39

Interesting video from a bot who I can only describe as ninja bot.

Short video next to a pyramid shaped building (presumably south America) explaining that network marketing is just like McDonald's.

No denial of the pyramid system I note.

Apparently NWM and McD are the same as both franchise, and both sell at high prices.

Now, I don't eat at McD much, and have a high market, but we're taking a few quid, rather than £20.

More holes than Swiss cheese. 😂😂😂😂

CanadianJohn · 11/02/2019 20:42

I was not familiar with the term C9, so looked it up. Hmmm, doesn't sound like a very good idea...
