Anyone up for an earn £10 a day challenge this year?

Otterses · 02/01/2019 08:06

I was wondering if anyone would like to join me Smile truth be told I really need the support!

Having DS has reduced my savings, and ability to save now that I'm paying for childcare. So my aim this year is to make £3650, or £10 a day which sounds far less terrifying.

I just thought this would be a great idea to share ideas for earning extra money and cheering each other on. Way better than just staring at a spreadsheet.

Soooooo here it goes.

Day One - £33.37/3650

£22.87 matched betting, and £10.61 Leapforce.

Ah @stiltonontoast great to know an (almost) successful withdrawal has been made from trading 212. Fingers crossed it's in your account soon.

Can I be cheeky and share my link again for anyone who hasn't done it yet as I haven't had a referral yet.
Do you want to get a free stock share worth up to £100?

Create a Trading212Invest account using this link www.trading212.com/ref/3nOmrNl and we both get a free share!

Thank you.
A little bit from MB for me today. Still nothing from prolific. Hope everyone has had a successful day Smile

Races all resolved, embarrassingly managed to win most at the bookie so going to have to place a mug bet tho name it look less suss 😂

reddA · 26/01/2019 22:07

Hi fellow savers, thank you Otterses for the thread, I've been lurking since the beginning, I've always done Quidco etc. done comps, surveys and mystery shopping in the past but just got into matched betting - It is sooooo scary!!! lol - I'm finding it really hard to track where my money is, I know I'm in profit and i'm on oddsmonkey etc. but I've got over £1500 spread all over the place - how do people do it on a budget? The liabilities can be really big to make any sort of profit, odds change so fast it is infuriating! How are you all getting on with it?

reddA · 26/01/2019 22:13

I won £370+ at a bookies today also ChakiraChakra, i think that's why I'm stressed, I like it all in the exchanges but now I've got money scattered all over the place!

ChakiraChakra · 27/01/2019 00:12

@reddA £370 at a bookies?! Wow!! How much of that is profit? And how much of your 1500 is money you've invested into MB?

I don't think I get on with the team profit spreadsheet. I started my own today, but there will be lots of tweaking. I like the Odds Monkey profit tracker, but am already finding it's not 100% accurate.

I invested £70 funds in MB at the beginning, and have been playing with that plus profits. I'm still very early into it, but I've been able to draw down from the exchange or bookie e.g. £30 into my normal current account (not got around to a MB current account but I will) and invest £30 of "my" money so I don't need to wait 3-5 days etc. Planning on hammering it for a few days then drawing back out the initial investment and playing with my profit only. Over time I think I'd like ideally say £100 float in my MB account too.

Hello my Money Making chums!

Not much to report on actual cash but I have made some progress with my applications.

Yesterday, I applied to join WhatUsersDo, UserTesting, LionBridge, and RedWigWam. I have so far been approved by WhatUsersDo (WUD) and RedWigWam (RWW).

So far, WUD sent me a task but I didn't match the criteria. I looked on RWW tonight and have bagged by first 'job' with them! It is a mystery shop that I must complete tomorrow. The task is to visit my local Sainsbury's and locate a new vegan cake brand. I must take photos of the display and purchase one specific product. If they are out if stock I must make enquiries with staff. Sounds very easy. For the task I will be paid £7.50 plus £1.50 to cover purchase price of a cake. I'll let you know how I get on.

I have yet to join Appen / Leapforce.

Thank you to the poster who mentioned the £50 cashback via Quidco for joining Gala Bingo and depositing £5. I am doing that in a minute! I need to join Quidco first.

My share on Trade 212 is up for 'selling' or whatever tomorrow, even though I have not one clue. Most people on here seem to have accumulated a good sum on Trade 212 due to another free share generated by someone from here using their referral link. Nobody has used mine yet ☹️.

Pretty please could someone use my referral link to Trade 212. We will both get a free share to cash out and it can be anything up to £100. I was allocated a £14 share with Deutsche Telekom. I was a bit disappointed at the low value and I am even more bummed off as the value is dropping!!! Ooh, this stockbroking is very stressful! 😜

So my link is below. Please could someone use it. I will gladly share one of your referral links in return.

Do you want to get a free stock share worth up to ‎£ 100?

Create a Trading 212 Invest account using this link www.trading212.com/ref/3nPxSQY and we both get a free share!

BlockRockinBeats · 27/01/2019 00:42

Whoops! On my last post I said... I will gladly share one of your referral links in return.

I actually meant that I would happily USE someone else's referral link to something if they use my link to join Trade 212.

Sorry! I get very carried away by all this. It is quite thrilling!

ChakiraChakra · 27/01/2019 00:46

@BlockRockinBeats I know two people used trade 212 link but I haven't had the share yet. I'm not worried, with how long evening else has taken with them 😁 so it's perfectly possible somebody has used yours.

Ps my free share cashed out at £11.09 😁

GruffalosOldTrousers · 27/01/2019 06:20

Quick heads up for anyone yet to start on matched betting - £20 cashback on Quidco for Betfair.
I completely missed this so kicking myself!

Otterses · 27/01/2019 06:36

@GruffalosOldTrousers keep an eye on that one tracking - I've still got an open investigation into Quidco for Betfair!

How do we sell our shares in 212? I can’t figure it out Grin

Otterses · 27/01/2019 07:42

Are you on the mobile app @FrontRowSeat ?

Thanks Otterses. Will give it a go ..... fingers crossed

FrontRowSeat · 27/01/2019 07:54

Oh no I’m just getting this

Anyone up for an earn £10 a day challenge this year?
Otterses · 27/01/2019 07:58

@FrontRowSeat when were the shares credited? Don't panic! I'm sure there's a reason, and they did send to someone else a message about how swamped they are with so many people joining.

OP posts:
FrontRowSeat · 27/01/2019 08:02

They were credited on Wednesday night! I’m sure someone posted earlier about having to press a little red cross . Did you do that?

Otterses · 27/01/2019 08:17

Nothing about a Red Cross at all! All it did was ask me to login in and type the amount I wanted to withdraw Confused

I'd give it till the morning, if not, email their support team, they're incredibly helpful.

jjemimapuddleduck · 27/01/2019 08:19

Great thread @Otterses- but I've reported your post above as it seems to include your full name and DOB in the screenshot.

Otterses · 27/01/2019 08:21

Shockthank you @jjemimapuddleduck was definitely not concentrating there!

Have some bits to list on eBay today. Shoes and clothes.

I’ve been spending more than I’m selling as need maternity clothes but am buying online via either topcashback or Quidco.

My nectar card is linked to my eBay account so things I’ve bought for ds I’ve got points for. Don’t think I have enough points yet to call them in but hopefully soon...

I do have almost £100 on my boots card though.

LilyMumsnet · 27/01/2019 09:20

OP, we've pulled your post up-thread because it contained an email address. Flowers

boringlyboring · 27/01/2019 11:58

Just leaving my shoppix referral code if anyone would like it... 5228RSUD
I used a pp’s (the first poster to post their’s I think, sorry I’m too lazy to scroll back for the nameBlush)

I’m cheating a bit with todays earnings - dp has had a healthy sum of £1000 from a ppi claim. So not my effort to earn as such (though I did pester him endlessly to fill out the forms). It’s going in the shared savings account though!

I have 4 bags of clothes to ebay, Years ago I sold a dress on there for £1.50, ebay then doubled the price of it and postage to the buyer who obviously wasn’t happy. Managed to sort it, then the label wouldn’t print properly, and by the time paypal took their bit I vowed never to sell on there again. But here I am.. Any tips for an amateur ebayer anyone?

margaritasbythesea · 27/01/2019 12:20

I ebay a lot of stuff. I paid for my driving lessons and first insurance etc with it so earn decent amounts. My top tips-

1.Things have to be decent condition ie toys etc complete. No fading or bobbling on clothes. If I have a bit of extra lego or something I don't include it in the list but pop it in the parcel as an extra (as long as there's no extra postage). Gets grwat feed back!

  1. Popular names and labels for clothes and toys are a must or you won't make money.
  1. Don't overlook spare parts from something you have that is broken. For example, I had a buggy board with one part that made it unsaleable as a whole. So I took the good bits and sold those.
  1. Time your auctions right. If they end when parents are likely to be putting the kids to bed or taking them to school, you won't make good prices. You can set times in advance.
  1. Give measurements for all adult clothes or people will ask individually which takes ages.
  1. Proof of postage is now included with all parcels but not letters. You have to ask for it. Lots of things can go as letters making postage cheaper for buyers.
  1. Start your auctions at the price you are prepared to sell at. Putting 99p and hoping for £15 rarely works out. Reserves tend to put people off I find. Best to be upfront.
  1. Check prices that the same item has gone for in the past. It gives a good guideline as to what you can expect.

If I find a bargain present for one of my kids, I will often check prices for same on ebay and maybe buy a few if they seem to sell well. Eg I found lots of Halo mega bloks blind bags on a sale site once and bought 10, then sold the doubles. It paid for the ones I gave DS.

That's all I can think of for now!
