Anyone up for an earn £10 a day challenge this year?

Otterses · 02/01/2019 08:06

I was wondering if anyone would like to join me Smile truth be told I really need the support!

Having DS has reduced my savings, and ability to save now that I'm paying for childcare. So my aim this year is to make £3650, or £10 a day which sounds far less terrifying.

I just thought this would be a great idea to share ideas for earning extra money and cheering each other on. Way better than just staring at a spreadsheet.

Soooooo here it goes.

Day One - £33.37/3650

£22.87 matched betting, and £10.61 Leapforce.

@mamaslave18 Thank you for using my OhMyDosh link. Once you reach £10 we will both get a bonus! Have you earned anything yet? Good luck!

BlockRockinBeats · 24/01/2019 12:41

@Otterses Thank you for the top re using a Spreadsheet to keep track of free trials and subscriptions that will need to be cancelled.

I am useless creating spreadsheets and formulas etc but I can use ones already set up. Would you be kind enough to share your spreadsheet template, if you have already made one? You can PM or whatever works best. I hope you don't mind me asking, tell me to get lost if need be - I won't be offended!

I am open to any offers of spreadsheets from any one who has created one for this purpose 😄

@Otterses - Which? have authorised for OMD to pay me the £7 rewards for taking out the subscription and I can transfer the money to Paypal now. After I have got the cash in my Paypal, am I ok to cancel the Which? Subscription straight away? They won't demand the money back will they, if I don't wait 30 days?

What I am asking is...once we have been paid via Paypal for the subscriptions we have taken out, is it ok for us to then cancel the subscription asap? We don't have to wait for 30 days do we?

Arrrgh! This is a very steep learning curve but it is addictive and such great fun.

Thanks for this thread!

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 24/01/2019 12:49

Thanks so much @mamaslave18.

I spoke too soon re: User Testing. Just had 2 tests in quick succession so a nice $20 for me so far today :-)

1hello2hello · 24/01/2019 14:54

Great thread! Have signed up to PA & Shutterstock. Thank you.

Otterses · 24/01/2019 16:24

I officially have an end date for work! Which coincides quite nicely with our house move I'm unemployed as of the 31st of March. I feel a thousand times better knowing this, and knowing I can earn a decent amount from online work if I was unable to find new employment quickly.

I'm glad you're finding it useful @1hello2hello I can't believe how many people are posting on here now! It's honestly amazing to me.

@SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock I may need to review UserTesting and try to be less terrified of it.

@BlockRockinBeats I was thinking about setting up a couple of google sheets, so we could see how everyone is doing I'll try to knock something together for you that you can use. I'm afraid I have no idea about your other question though, but I wouldn't think they could demand it back!

I'll let you know how withdrawal works tomorrow when I try to cash out on 212. Though I'm a bit tempted to leave it in there and see what happens!

@SplitEndsBushyEyebrows WELL DONE Grin ! That's made my day that has. There. You're done. That's an easy £3k+ a year.

I’ve just (hopefully) made £125 Shock through Quidco, by signing up for BT broadband (was able to cancel Sky earlier than I thought). Plus, a £90 reward card from BT themselves is due to come once it’s all set up. I’m thinking I might just treat Quidco as a savings account and only cash out once every 6 months or something (if I can be patient)

Just a note re the 212trading, it seems you have more than one share to be able to sell them for some of them (mine says I needed a minimum of 2). I haven’t seen anyone mention that so thought I’d let you all know! Hopefully it will still let me withdraw my £11 ‘portfolio’.

ottereses It must be a relief to know where you are with it. Your optimism is so inspiring. I’m even planning to start wading through my sea of DVDs this weekend thanks to this thread.

Otterses · 24/01/2019 18:30

Well done @boringlyboring ! £125 is a fab amount Grin you've reminded me to look at switching my broadband with Sky when we move - sick to death of wasting money on line rental! I'll keep BT in mind for March.

I'm trying to be optimistic. I think it really helps that my current job was never a long term thing for me. A lot of my colleagues are absolutely gutted and trying to figure out their next move, it's awful to watch. My lovely project coordinator from my volunteering job is going to give me a hand rewriting my CV, so as soon as I've got an area, I'm going to hit up all the agencies and try to get some paid work in some shelters and hostels Smile

CEX have a good barcode scanner for DVD's, if you want to just be able to drop them off easily somewhere.

DH is teaching a paediatric first aid course tonight, and I'm quite tempted by a dominos when DS goes to bed Blushthrough Quidco of course, 3% cash back.

Speaking of courses! That's another thing I thought of - I've seen there's quite a few websites where you can make and 'sell' courses. May be something worth some of you looking into if you have a specialist/teaching background?

GruffalosOldTrousers · 24/01/2019 18:52

@ChakiraChakra thanks for the explanation. It's worth knowing too as I wouldn't have thought to check that the bets were matched.
I've done a few more bets today for games tonight. Still a bit wobbly about it all.
I started putting together a spreadsheet for my MB and to keep track of other income, but it's hardly useable yet. There is quite a good one for MB on Team Profit but it's set up for you to follow one of their plans and I think I've already gone off plan!

Still nothing on Prolific. It's been about a week. I joined Swagbucks this morning and spent ages doing surveys that all stopped after a handful or more of dull questions and gaining me on only 1 point. Anyone have any more luck with it?

@SplitEndsBushyEyebrows well done on passing the Lionbridge exams.

@Otterses, sounds like your job ending has worked out to match your plans. Hopefully you'll find something else when you move (or make your online fortune 😁).

ChakiraChakra · 24/01/2019 19:01

@otterses onwards and upwards! That's at least a reasonable amount of time to get a plan in place.

I'm feeling even more foolish than when I lost my debit card. The account I requested a new card for that I had earmarked for MB is in fact not a current account, so I can't actually use it to pay anything online, it's useless for MB 😳 😂

GruffalosOldTrousers · 24/01/2019 19:33

@Otterses sorry I wrote my last post before reading yours. It sounds like it's going to be tough leaving your current job. Sorry. (Also not sure why my emoji looked like a grump face rather than a cheery one).

@ChakiraChakra that's similar to what I did. I know have a pointless account with only a useless cash card. It's annoying because I wanted to keep it all separate. I'm using the joint account at the minute but haven't told DH what I'm up to yet. I'm going to have to spill the beans or he'll be getting worried about me having a gambling problem!!

GruffalosOldTrousers · 24/01/2019 19:34

Duh! *know = now

BlockRockinBeats · 24/01/2019 20:49

I have got a few positive updates and a few questions.

TopCashBack

I have joined TopCashBack and will earn £80 in 120 days now I have set up a stocks and shares ISA with Shepherds Family where I must save £30 per month by DD. I was wanting to set up a small, regular savings plan and this is ideal. It took less than 5 mins to set up. The company also has excellent customer reviews.

I have never used a cashback site before so I am a bit confused. I have shopped for a few things off ebay and Amazon via the TopCashBack link. However, any cashback I may have earned is not showing on my account. It just shows 'clicks' through to Amazon and ebay on TBC. Will these show my cashback in a few days?

I also got £2.25 for carrying out an Experian Credit report, which I have never done before.

if anyone would like to join TCB using my referral code, I will love you forever! Here it is...

www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/member170806361252

Shoppix

I have registered for this. You earn for uploading shopping receipts. I read a review by a blogger and they said that a max of 30 receipts will be credited, ie any more will not count.

Does anyone know whether you can upload past receipts? ie receipts from last year? Or do the receipts have to be from the date you joined?

Anyway, it seems an easy to earn @£5 per month if you get into a routine of uploading your shopping receipts every week.

If you wish to join Shoppix, by using my referral code we can both earn a bonus 200 points each. Here is is:

D3HSGMWE

You punch this code in at the end of your registration. I have used someone else's but I don't know who. Someone will get a surprise anyway!

UserTest

I have been rejected as I was unable to complete the test. It said my mic volume was too low and there was nothing I could do to increase it. Has anyone else had this? Any way around it?

WeBuyBooks

I have loads of books, cds and dvds to sell. This company seems to have good reviews. Have you used them? Or would you recommend a different company?

Matched Betting

I have watched the tutorial and demo on Profit Accumulator and I think I GET it!!!! I am going to have a go tomorrow.

Has anyone else used this MB site? any tips?

Thank you for reading and cheers in advance to anyone who is able to offer advice or make use of my links so that we can both benefit.

I am happy to use any other links from others for things I have not already signed up for.

Can't wait to hear about people's progress with Trade 121 tomorrow. how exciting!

BlockRockinBeats · 24/01/2019 20:57

@Otterses I think the idea of Google sheets for us all the chart and share our progress is excellent. I would have no idea how to set one up myself but would be very happy to contribute and join in.

I am going to have a bash at setting up a spreadsheet to chart my own gains. If it works ok, I will happily share it.

Watch this space!

So...tomorrow I will be mostly:

Trying out MB via Profit Accumulator
Trying to join Lionbridge and Leapforce
Listing some unused craft stuff on ebay

This thread has given me a massive kick up the arse.

THANK YOU ALL

Mummabear2212 · 24/01/2019 21:12

Still no trading 212 but went into online chat and had this auto message.

Anyone up for an earn £10 a day challenge this year?
BlockRockinBeats · 24/01/2019 21:20

@Mummabear2212

That sounds like positive message. All I can imagine is that you joined at the same times as loads of others and so there is a big backlog of new members for whoever is dealing with that date.

I had the opposite in that I joined late last night and has my share at 8am today. Mind you, my allocated share is only worth £14+ so you might be lucky and get a big one! fingers crossed and keep us updated. It is all a bit hit and miss and very comforting to know that none of seem to know what the hell we are doing!

Dabbling in shares??? arrgh!!!

Tomorrow I will be dabbling in online gambling!!! WTH?

I will feedback.

ChakiraChakra · 24/01/2019 21:25

@BlockRockinBeats

I use Quidco. TopCashBack may be similar in that it takes a few days for transactions to be acknowledged, a few weeks for them to be confirmed and 5-6 months to actually be paid! So whoever it was upthread that said they would treat quidco like a savings account and withdraw every 6 months or so, well that's exactly what we have to do! 😁 it's always with remembering that cashback isn't guaranteed income, we should regard it as a nice extra if it comes through.

ChakiraChakra · 24/01/2019 21:25

I should add that I've done quidco a couple of times in the past and I HAVE already been paid okay.

ChakiraChakra · 24/01/2019 21:26

Urgh typo. *always, not already.

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 24/01/2019 21:30

I daren't try the gambling sites. I'm a bit scared i might get addicted lol!

tentative3 · 25/01/2019 06:56

Block I think you only have 7 days to upload your receipts to shoppix, that's what I seem to recall. Sounds like you're off to a great start with all you've signed up to/done, I'm in awe!

Just wanted to comment about Prolific.

I've installed an auto refreshing extension to my chrome browser, its called 'Super auto refresh plus' and you can set it to automatically refresh the studies page every minute / 30 seconds or whatever your preference. The studies page states that you don't have to refresh but I've found its much better if you do - studies seem to pop up way more.

I've got mine set to refresh every 30 seconds and I've had 41 surveys since I joined about a month ago - so not bad really! Made around £55.
