How much do you have left in your account at the end of the month?

So today is payday. I am always intrigued by the 'how much do you earn?' threads as frankly I'm incredibly nosy. But someone always says something like they earn £££ but have big outgoings too.

So my question is, how much do you have left in your (and your partner if applicable) account on payday?

Left????

Larrythelamb84 · 22/10/2018 21:20

I get paid on Friday and have £442.19p left. Not sure if that's good or not 🤷‍♀️

None.

A few quid usually, covers buying milk. I tend to shift any spare money into my savings account, somewhere between £15-30 a month.

Glossymare · 22/10/2018 21:24

Sweet f a usually!

TheHobbitMum · 22/10/2018 21:25

Very little, I get paid Friday and I have about £200 which will dwindle over the week with it being half term. All bills paid & food is paid separately so it doesn't worry me really.

ggirl · 22/10/2018 21:27

£0.00

Glossymare · 22/10/2018 21:27

Okay just checked online.. I’ve got £98.28 until I get paid on Friday.
A weeks food is in the fridge/cupboards and I have half a tank of fuel.
My dh (who is better paid than me) is paid weekly, so we are never left without really.

Wagonwheelsandstrawberryjam · 22/10/2018 21:28

Haha left!! That's funny.
I got paid today, I've paid my rent bought dts new coats have my car insurance due to come out tomorrow along with the rest of my DD, I'll then be left with a grand total of 87p.

Fun times ahead Sad

ShotsFired · 22/10/2018 21:29

Usually nothing, but that is because I have deliberately managed it that way.

Every pay day my bills all get paid, which includes a sum into savings which I have budgeted for, just like the mortgage or gas.

(If I do happen to have leftover cash then I'll save that too.)

huggybear · 22/10/2018 21:30

87p? How do you pay for food? Sad

How much month do you have left at the end of your money? Smile

PrincessDando · 22/10/2018 21:30

I'm usually about 1000 into my overdraft.

ShotsFired · 22/10/2018 21:31

Eg. I have £17 in the bank till payday. Only further payment going out now is a £12, so I have a fiver if I need fresh milk or whatever - but the cupboards are stocked and everything is paid so I'm not worried.

Stormblessed · 22/10/2018 21:34

Most months around £200 but we add to savings when we get paid too. Not paying for childcare yet though!

ListenLinda · 22/10/2018 21:36

Nothing at all by the day before usually. It wasn’t always like this, but then i didn’t always have childcare fees to pay.

notangelinajolie · 22/10/2018 21:37

Our balance at the end of every month is always £0.00. I pay anything left into the mortgage. Even if it's only 1p. Most months it is less than a pound - we never have much left but it's going to a good cause.

NoSquirrels · 22/10/2018 21:38

I’m paid at a different time to my DH, and the bills come due at different times in the month, and we whack mostly to day spending on a credit card e.g. food & petrol and pay off in full every month so it is entirely variable depending on what day it is!

Buddyelf · 22/10/2018 21:38

Depends what you mean by left. I get paid on Friday and I’m currently £15 in my overdraft. My overdraft is £750 so technically I have £735 to spend but it’s not my wages it’s overdraft. This month is about average

BoomTish · 22/10/2018 21:39

I’m getting paid this week. Currently have £506.87 and don’t think I’m likely to spend anything from that.

Not sure about DH- think he usually has about £600 left.

We’re good savers and have direct debits that come out the day we each get paid. Then, whatever is left goes in to savings too.

3boysandabump · 22/10/2018 21:48

I have about £10 left and I get paid next on 9th November. I'm on maternity pay at the minute though and I have access to my husbands account.

ScandiGirl10 · 22/10/2018 21:48

Honestly not much but that includes disposable spending which I put on a credit card and pay off monthly so comes out straight after pay day. I have a small cushion of savings (

greyspottedgoose · 22/10/2018 21:53

I tend to have £30-60 left for the last week but with all bills fuel & food paid. I often feel quite pinched but love that feeling the night before payday blowing my last £10 odd on treats and feeling rich!

motortroll · 22/10/2018 22:03

We have a £3500 overdraft which we regularly use (not always all of it) so always negative. Had some cash flow issues but a large income for a couple of years so bank keeps giving us money!! It will be paid off in next 6 months! But generally we sir do all our income yes.

We're shit with money.
