So perhaps, like Yawn, maths is not my strong point.
My aspiring bot friend tells me her mentor (a poster 'girl' for our favourite MLM), who she aspires, to is doing £100K turnover.
So once VAT has been paid that's £80K revenue. On 35% retail commission that would be £28K per annum.
I believe she pays for shipping and postage /delivery charges so I'll be generous and take another £4K out. So £24K.
Then monthly website charges, travel, fuel, events, mindset training and this is someone who lives and breathes her MLM. So probably making circa £1500 gross a month for 40 hours a week which is just below £7.83 an hour aka as National Minimum Wage.
Nothing wrong with earning minimum wage and £1500 extra income cannot be scoffed at by any household but no holiday pay or pension, no employment rights or security.
Plenty of people (not just women) would be happy to make that money from home without childcare costs etc; although committing to that level of effort is hard.
However, my local ironing lady charges £9 an hour, fits her work around family commitments and has not sold her soul to Social Media. She can also have a nice conversation or cup of tea with anyone she meets without trying to recruit them in to her ancient Egyptian tomb!
