Anti MLM/ Network marketing thread NUMBER 43!!

Spongebobette · 29/09/2018 18:17

This is the 43rd thread in a long series about the dangers of network marketing/ MLMs such as Forever Living, Ariix, NuSkin, Arbonne, Younique, TS Life, and MANY MANY more!
Posts here will give examples of the lies told by 'top bots' who portray luxury lifestyles in order to lure in new victims and of the other techniques and brainwashing used by MLMs
Over 90% of people who join an MLM end up LOSING money. Always bear that in mind when considering paying money to join!

😀😀

GoldenKelpie · 22/10/2018 12:47

sponge the comments below the videos are fascinating too. It's remarkable how similar the formula is across all MLMs and it is heartening to see so many people are getting wise to MLM.

Spongebobette · 22/10/2018 13:44

Yes fascinating.. lots of people who have been through the same thing, then the odd fully metal botted post (with lots of replies arguing back)

Why do Herbashite bots think I want to see pics of a load of random people in their pants?
I really wish they would just piss off!!

Spongebobette · 22/10/2018 15:14

I see FM World had their UK conference in Telford this weekend. Lots of poor bots paying out ££ to attend, stay in a hotel and pay their own travel costs. Then a few get to go on stage and get a certificate for ‘15% effectiveness’ whatever the hell that means
Absolutely tragic that they’ve been rinsed of money like that

Whiterangey · 22/10/2018 16:49

I disagree with Castle, Yawn, Uber etc being victims.

While it's true they have made Forever much more money than they themselves have made, they have also made their fortunes but plunging other women into poverty.

We know they know what happens to the bottom 99% because they read here.

They have holidays, fancy cars, new homes, while others are left in poverty.

Not victims.

Norma27 · 22/10/2018 17:24

I totally agree with whiterangey. They know what they are doing so I will not feel an ounce of sympathy when they lose everything.
I do feel sorry for those victims still being conned to join by them. Mrs stickman is still off Facebook. Really hoping she has seen the light. Just such a shame she has missed properly enjoying those first few months of her babies life.
Really hope yawn gets a big fat zero cheque again.

Spongebobette · 22/10/2018 18:26

It’s extraordinary that there are still women (particularly in the area around where Yawn lives) who haven’t heard about what a scam it all is.

OP posts:
Electrascoffee · 22/10/2018 18:27

'We know they know what happens to the bottom 99% because they read here.'

I think it's more likely they are so brainwashed that they really believe that anyone can earn as much as they do. Even though it's obvious to anyone with a couple of brain cells that it won't work.

Electrascoffee · 22/10/2018 18:30

I live in the same area as Yawn. This area is not known for people who think for themselves or actually bother to research things unfortunately.

Whiterangey · 22/10/2018 18:36

They can see what is happening to themselves, that they are going broke, they definitely know what happens to all those under them.

Electrascoffee · 22/10/2018 18:39

🤮🤮🤮

If they really know I'm shocked that anyone could be so evil tbh.

Anti MLM/ Network marketing thread NUMBER 43!!
Electrascoffee · 22/10/2018 18:49

Actually I do remember reading about a man whose wife was doing it and he said that she lied to him about making money when she wasn't at all and all the time she was secretly spending on credit cards and loans making it look like she was doing well. Eventually when he learned the truth, they split up.

Graceadlerdesigns · 22/10/2018 19:19

I have been reading some of the threads to learn more.. I recently have had one friend join Younique and another join Arbonne. The younique not is surprising as she is a smart lady with a really good job but I think she has been sold into the whole sisterhood thing.

My other friend I am really concerned about. She has zero income but has recently been offered a couple of opportunities. ... Not quite job offers bit steps in the right direction for training etc but she is turning it down because she believes she will be earning 1500 quid a month within a year.

I am really worried for her.

Can someone let me know the code names being used? I am v suspicious of one younique black status person who I think lies in every single post ...

Helipad · 22/10/2018 19:36

I’ve just found out a friend of mine has been sucked in 😬 It’s veiled into a health business but with little digging turns out to be Juice Plus. Two days in and her FB is full of sickly sweet updates and embarrasing boss babe memes.

She needs to pop in later this week and has asked if we could have time for a coffee and chat. This makes me dread it’s going to be a full sales pitch. We aren’t best friends or anything like that but see each other through various links and common friends very often. I don’t want to fall out with her but want to make it clear I won’t buy anything.

She’s been through various fads over the years but this is first MLM she’s doing now. I’m hoping she’ll lose interest quickly like with the other fads she has.

leasedaudi · 22/10/2018 20:07

@Helipad bring along links to botwatch / these threads and tell her how worried you are about her!

cozietoesie · 22/10/2018 20:20

Helipad

' coffee and a chat' will be meant to end with you signing up/your life away. If you try to 'get out of the situation' by eg inventing another appointment she'll say something like 'What a pity - shall I come round to your home?' And she almost certainly will come. Steer clear of her right from the start.

user1484830599 · 22/10/2018 20:26

Just be polite but firm and keep saying no. Don't offer a reason, or if she pushes just say you don't want to. I realise it isn't always as simple as this!

Helipad · 22/10/2018 20:48

I can’t offer her the botwatch link yet, she’s full of energy and excitement at the moment, it would go down really badly. I have a small business myself which is going well and takes up all my time as it is. I will just tell her I’m not interested in the products or signing up. But I’m peeved off that I have to do that.

For instance, I never push my business or my products to anyone. Luckily I don’t have to. My friends sometimes come to me but it’s always up to them, I don’t push my stuff at them at all. Tbh, I wish they didn’t as I find it akward and hate having to give a little discount 🤣

People on our friendship circle are kind but not particularly critical or well read folk. Most are also quite welthy so are likely to purchase from her as they will think they will help her small business.

cozietoesie · 22/10/2018 20:57

Sorry. It's going to 'go down badly' if you don't sign up (for whatever reason.)

You need to develop (quickly) a thick skin. She will be armour plated. (And you'll be lucky if she doesn't turn up with ...a 'friend' to help her make the sale.. You're in some danger here.

cozietoesie · 22/10/2018 21:04

I'd send her the link - beforehand if necessary.

justilou1 · 22/10/2018 21:06

I have just returned to my home town and my friendship group has been invaded by a multi MLMbot. Gaaaaaah! I am being spammed on FB about Rodin & Fields, Arbonne some type of “cryofacial” thing she’s pushing to help prop up her husband’s chiropractic business, oh... her husband’s chiropractic business, her lawn & garden care business, her other health & wellness products, not limited to the copper and magnetic bracelets and mattress toppers. Have been back in town for two weeks and am about to explode. Even went down the path of privately saying to her “If we are to be friends, you’re going to have to stop because I have very strong feelings about this and you don’t know anyone else’s financial situation...” - Here’s a hint. Don’t ever do that. Now she’s hassling me to become one of her parasites.

cozietoesie · 22/10/2018 21:07

PS- why not send it to the whole 'friendship circle' in fact? They sound very vulnerable.

cozietoesie · 22/10/2018 21:09

Another case for sending links, justi. 🙂

SSDGM · 22/10/2018 21:10

I’ve just realised how Wig’n’Sleaze managed to get the cash together to retire!
It wasn’t anything to do with playing magic bitcoins, it was when she joined Monat!!

Granted, she’s not mentioned it since and it seems to have failed miserably in the UK since it’s launched but that’s got to be the reason, right??
